"Estudio sin luz" means "Study without light". They said Segovia composed this when he was temporarily blind from this eyes disease. This music reflections the world of darkness that Segovia have experienced. And as much as it was good that Segovia didn't became blind permanently, he was able to share the world his piece of artistry from his temporary illnesss. Such a maestro.
This really is a delightful and clever piece and it displays great compositional skill. It develops the theme remarkably skillfully. Guitar is not an easy instrument to compose deep classical muisc on so well done indeed Mr Segovia. Shame he did nt write more as he was obviuosly gifted in this area too.
Estudio sin luz -- Study without light. Written when he was recovering his vision after eye surgery. Truly amazing especially when played by the maestro himself.
@MrSnorlax22@MrSnorlax22 Estudio sin Luz is one of four pieces I know of that Segovia composed himself. The other three, also shorter pieces, are titled: Oracion, Remembranza, and Divertimento. I haven't been able to find any recordings of these other than Estudio sin Luz.
