I think that this drumline borrowed a specific drum sequence from The Cavaliers. It's apparent in the second tune. Not that there's anything wrong with doing that at all. If you're going to borrow a drum pattern you might as well borrow it from a top drum corps such as The Cavaliers. Look up the DCI cavaliers 2002 show called "Frameworks". This particular part of their show was also called fight club.
@KauaiBallerof2012 yea I know they're a college band. I just didn't want people to get the impression that that song belonged to them when they clearly borrowed it from The Cavaliers.
dude they dont need to sound like dci because they arenot like that they are one of those who like to hae fun with it for example rice university is like that
point taken.....but its quite possible to do both....fun and clean, without a tech i know its real hard to clean stuff cuz ppl use diff. techniques, but still.....theres def a line that a drumline can cross as far as having fun and just being dirty and not caring
LOL! I love these! These are the kinds of cadences we have here on the south side; I always hate how the richer high schools have cadences that show off rudiments and skill. Skill don't mean crap if the cadences don't have any feeling or groove. That's why we always won our drumline battles ;].
You guys are bitchin' i swear! Seriously, you all have the right idea about playing marching band percussion. Your cadences aren't terribly difficult, but they sound fantastic, you love to play them and you let people know it. It's refreshing to see something other than Grit on the faces of marching percussionist. THANK YOU UH FOR KEEPING DRUMMING REAL!
I was just listening to that Cavies show and I thought that and I was going to come on here and say that they sound so alike... but you already did. But I agree! I wonder which had it first...
2:08 "you guys remember all the stuff we did this morning?" Lol
