  • The kid who can be heard yelling:"Go on". I wonder if it was his pet rabbit out there. Would he have the same excitement & enthusiasm?

  • coursing is a great sport ,dont talk rubbish ,you no noting about it

  • Animal cruelty and pathectic activity for those who are un civilised. No escuses it was banned because it was right to ban it.

  • WAW your a to bit dogooder. did you go on the rally at the waterloo cup when all the antis came in the jeep with the 2 big speakers and sounded out that NOISE that was suppost to scare the hares away from the field .. but instead it drew the hares to the jeep and every hare that ran when this sounds was playing got killed? did the hare coursing carry on?? NO they stoped it for hours before they left.that doesnt sound like cruel people to me? that sounds like people who have respect for the hare?

  • this is not craulty this is sport u beleave in jesus but we dont because hes not fukin real

  • what sad inbred misfits. you cowards should be hung with the peado's and rapests but i bet you probably are all 3

  • just watched this one again, fucking sweet take at 2:41 excellent last hare.

  • lol, they really do make proper dicks of themselves don't they, god i would have loved to see it, you should have got it on video and slapped it up here, show the real anti's giving it all the dedication.

  • Look the dogs never cant catch the wild rabbit but this is r house rabbit not wild rabbit the wild rabbit r so fast

  • the hunting act creates lawlessness, if you want your country to be full of even more criminals then continue supporting the act, people will never stop doing it and therefore all the act has done is criminalise normal people, who are upstanding citizens, were are not dog fighters or badger baiters, we do not do this for the suffering of the prey animal (which is not as great as many believe, if it is caught it is killed instantly or delivered live to hand) i like seeing animals at their best.

  • Hares are prey animals and greyhounds/lurchers are their predators. If the hare is tricky enough and swift enough it will outwit and outrun the dogs. Therefore it will pass its genes on to the next generation of hares improving the hare gentecially. Contrary to what people may think, coursers look after hares well.

  • I find the comment on being rich and owning land rather odd. I myself am not wealthy and was indeed raised in a council house, however I was very fond of coursing.

One didn't need to be rich to enjoy this wonderful tradition that is so much part of our culture.

It seems Labour have done much to promote and protect other cultures, but have virtually destroyed ours.

  • thats a good comment. i marshalled at the waterloo cup for a few years and although i did not really enjoy the coursing i saw it as a great british tradition.

when you see so called british citezens preaching hatred in our very midst and the goverment covering it up as freedom of speech and then banning coursing i find it hard to believe.

  • it is a shocker. people are stupid theres no doubt about it, just mob mentality people not knowing what they are talking about and just jumping on the band wagon. they just shout louder than we do and therefor our side of the story isn't heard.

  • The mob are the people watching it; not those objecting to it.

  • there are mobs in all walks of life, i am part of a pro hunting mob, whereas you are part of an anti hunting mob, we both hold beliefs which we will stick to, and i respect that. but the thing is that my beliefs are founded on experience rather than youtube videos and other peoples opinions. can you say the same, truthfully.

  • coursing 4 life

    fuck blair

  • same old comments from anti's always repeating themselves, i know you are Jeoulous because we are rich and own land, while you live in a counsil flat in some dump, but crying on here becuase you don't understand makes you sound a idiot.

98055760 -we all know you are mouth on here, yet can say it to one's face hahaha

  • dont let him wind you up lads, he's laughing at you from the safty of his pathetic little hole, he woud'nt have the spine to air his opinions to your face, so he dos'nt believe them himself, the band waggons full lads , sit back and watch as it grinds to a halt, HUNT ON ANY WAY!

  • IS RIGHT...

  • Unlike you, who are so "enlightened" and have the endgame of taking choice away from people. Fascist! So you don't hunt, fine. Please don't force your worldview on everyone else you Nazi! People like you need to go found a new planet because you obviously hate hunmans.

  • Forcing pain and suffering on a living breathing being like in this video is more nazi like than forcing an opinion down someone's throat. Be thankful you're not hunted and ripped apart by dogs, even though people like you who support this barbaric sport fully deserve such.

  • if you dont understand something dont comment on it, it just makes you look stupid, hare coursing is not chasing a defenseless animal, if it was defenseless there would be no chase, you need a good dog to catch a good daytime hare, its not like they are all caught, and they are rarely ripped aprt, and if they are then they are already dead, if you had ever been bitten by a dog (properly) you would know that something that size would die instantly the dog bit its head. thats a quick death.

  • I fully understand something, and yes, I've been bitten by plenty of dogs. Some hurt, some did not, some broke the skin, some did not, some bruised, some did not - I've been around dogs all my life, big ones, small ones, unfriendly and friendly and so on. Not all bites = instant death. If you think that then maybe you've never been bitten by a dog?

  • if you have been bitten by that many dogs then perhaps you should find something else to interest you, i have only been bitten a couple of times and that was when i was young, i have come into contact with extremely aggressive dogs since then but understand the situation and generally avoid being bitten. go and learn something numbnuts instead of posting idiotic and uneducated replies on something far out of your league.

  • And you clearly don't realise what the waterloo cup is? A ARENA, closed off. The hare ain't gonna escape anytime soon when there's a fence, or flushers, or whatever any number metres of anyway.

  • you dont know what you are talking about and your uneducated moronic opinion gives way to that fact. perhaps you should get out hunting with these dogs you have spent your life around and see what its actually like, rather than professing to know so much based on a serious lack of experience in the field. biatch.

  • Closed arena - my arse

The south side of the course was completely open, unfenced. Fencing east and west allowed a hare to pass beneath.

The north side had i) long grass which concealed the hare from the dogs after the course.

then. ii) Rhodedendroms!! This plant leaves a foot and a half gap below its branches. Enough for a hare to pass with ease but too small for a greyhound.

    then.

iii) woven wooden fence with a gap about a foot and a half beneath, big enough for hare but too small for a dog.

  • Anyways, come back to me when you spend time around dogs properly and not just watch them from the comfort of the sidelines. Also, they are defenceless because they cannot possibly fight back properly, and if they don't die, they'll be killed by the humans anyway....it's a one sided killing game...no sport is it. In sport, both sides have a chance, in this 'sport' only the dog and human do. Now go get educated on animals please.

  • lol the hare has escape routes in any hare coursing event, either netting the the hare can get under or tubes, if the dog cannot turn the hare in time then it gets away, the odds are stacked in the hares favour for most hare coursing, the waterloo cup is a collection of the very best dogs. most of the time it is about two out of ten hares that are caught. thats alot fairer than shooting. you obviously havent spent any time around real dogs, i.e. ones that get to hunt. I hunt with dogs.

  • pathetic, lack of argument, lack of knowledge on the subject, lack of common sense, lack of experience, why dont you come back to me when you have spent more time around real dogs instead of trying to dismiss me with very unsubtle argumentative techniques. your attempt to dismiss me shows your desperation, i know more than you and can argue my point better becuase of my knowledge, so you have run away! coward! i also argue about fox hunting, would that be more to your liking?

  • Soughs, small bolt holes placed around the course.

Anyway, you got your way. It doesnt happen any more. And what was the world's greatest concentration of hares is sadly no more, for the unspoken consequence of banning this event is that the hare became a pest, in need of control. And controlled they were. There's a lot fewer hares there now.

    Happy now?

Try getting your facts right next time.

You do your side no favours with such factual inaccuracies.

  • The reason there are less hares in the countryside has got nothing to do with the lack of (legal) hare coursing. It's all to do with farming practices and the proliferation of crops like oilseed rape as opposed to pasture. People always like to justify their cruelty. I'm sure that the Romans justified the `sport' of Christians against lions.

  • you really dont know what hare coursing did for hares do you? it gave them a home and protection from shooting, now instead of days of hare coursing there are days of hare shooting, in a day of hare coursing, if the dogs were good maybe twenty hares would be caught, now most shoots expect a bag of 300-500 hares, and the shots dont have to be great to do that.

  • Thats a fact morgasm. Coursing should never have been included in the ban as it was the only sport which didnt rely on the death of the hare, and a strong hare wouldnt be killed. Hopefully now we`ll see the back of this Gov and a repeal of the act. LACS know it themselves its ungoverable.

  • anyone with any sense knows the ban must go! all it does is criminalise law abiding people. when has that ever done any good? get rid of hunting properly and see what a shit state the countryside gets into without the money that comes in from it.

  • u r a dum fucker cus the hunting act covers england wales and scotland not ireland and u sucked ur mums tits till u was 20! ha ha

  • i'm still suckin your mother's now, even though you dont still know who she is.

  • fuck you u do gooding anti hunting twat people like you dnt have a fuckin clue keep coursing fuck the ban and fuck you dick ed

  • the hunting act hasnt stopped anyone from hunting, its a passion, the only things that have changed are the events, they are now drag coursed. but everyone still hunts with dogs. the hunting act has inconvienced many but has only caught twenty people, most got off with a fine, and the last ones caught were oap's even so they only paid two grand, the raspca spend 15 grand trying to send them down lol, people will carry on hunting illegally until the act is iverturned.

  • Who says the hunting act has not worked. Maybe it has not fully stopped fox hunting, but it has but a stop to events like the waterloo cup. I am so happy that the party has been stopped for you inbred fuckers. You will just have to revert back to family incest as one of your favorite pastimes. YOU inbred, 3 eye cunts.

  • dont call me inbred please you know nothing about this sport thank god it is still alive here.just because you dont like a sport dosent mean you have to attack it and ruin it for thosand of people here in ireland all off my community are very involved in the sport and love it love the dogs and the sport long leave corsing long live clonmel sorry that some poeple are so blind too and ignorant in towns too try and spoil us fuck off asshole nobody invited you so stay in your box room in the city

  • Couldn't have put it better myself.

  • You know nothing, if you cared for animals like the hare you would know that hunters are also the biggest conservators of the hare. Hare numbers are dwindling fast, they are now vermin and are easy fodder for the gun. And whats with the 3 eyed shit?? Grow up ah!!

  • u r a dum fucker cus the hunting act covers england wales and scotland not ireland and u sucked ur mums tits till u was 20! ha ha

  • greatly missed long live coursing and hopefull for 2011

  • oioi coursing is the best sport look at my lurcher training to course on. meg the lurcher

  • tony blair fuck the ban you carnt stop us were the mothr fukin hunting clan ........ big up the hunting massive

  • If the dogs were muzzled as in Ireland at many coursing meetings, you could simply carry on. I think the legislation applies to hunting to kill with dogs.

  • I have seen hares take horrible beatings by dogs with muzzles,at least when they kill they kill quick.

  • greatest sport ever

  • I was there! Can't wait until labour are given the boot.....GOOD TIMES

  • cant believe we allowed them to take this from us...FUCK THE BAN..FUCK THE LABOUR GOVT..FUCK ALL YOUR TREEHUGGERS IN YOUR UNROADWORTHY FUME BELCHING SHIT HEAPS..WE THE NORMAL MORAL DRUG FREE FAMILY ORIENTED PEOPLE DEMAND OUR ENGLAND BACK..by the way..we still hunt

  • f*ck the ban, f*ck anti's...bunch of students and bored housewives, the WC will be back, I'll be there, like I was for 11 years running up to the ban (except for F&M year)I watched that final course from the bank, and seeing it again fair brought a tear to my eye...Thanks Beefytomo, keep the faith.

    Owdbum

  • You are wrong to think that the people watchinbg hate the hare(not rabbits).Since the hunting ban has been in place the numbers of hares in my area has dropped as land that was gamekeepered for hares, for coursing, are now shot only, and the hare is now fair game to the shooters. Watch again and count how many hares get caught by these dogs. If I where a hare I would be glad for cousing, all you have to do is run your arse of once a year and you get looked after for the rest of the time.

  • it is so perverse. how can all these people hate the poor rabbit so much. i think this is the reason, why it was banned. a living thing hunted down for fun of fat kids and their fathers. i totally agree with hunting a rabbit this way, but i dont understand the sense of this event shown in the video. bunch of weakling screaming in hate... it is making me laugh.

  • Before you pass comment actually make sure the animal you are talking about is actually the animal on the video.

  • i was there on this day was amazin

    wish it hadnt been banned

  • bring it back. what a sport

  • Yes but, how can anybody be entertained by Dr Who ??? Why you watch if you don't like, I don't get you people.

  • Great, keep on promoting this great old sport

  • I was there... Good show lads !

  • quality.. F*ck the ban

  • Great stuff. A great and memorable day. I'll remember that huge puddle in front of the Withens (public) bank forever.... The guy that "swam" it naked deserves every penny of the several hundred he got for swimming it. Post that - I dare ya!!! Jeez - it were cooooold! Many thanks :)

  • very good fella you got any more clips
