eye gouge so on and so fourth.. Once again JJ is great but when in a STREET fight I cant see this working incredibly well as it does in MMA.. MMA is one on one and it's allowed there.. like I said when in a street fight most of the time ppl will force you to stand up and fight not grapple, choke, and ultimately submit.. Learn more than one technique don't think BJJ is going to get you out of a street fight on top because it probably won't
Ppl usually don't let ppl wrestle each other on the ground when in a street fight.. It's like a moral code.. lol.. And what if you get jumped? are you going to submit them all at the same time? Don't get me wrong Jiu Jitsu is great but you NEED to learn how to fight standing up.. Fights don't have to go on the ground believe it or not.. and also when your in a street fight there are pretty much no rules.. If your choking somebody don't be surprised if they take a chunk out of you with a bit.
@pussylicker24 I have never in my life ever heard of a "moral code" in fighting that you shouldn't take the fight to the ground. In fact, you just contradicted yourself in your own post when you said there are no rules in street fights. There are videos of the gracie family fighting people where they groin grab or bite, the gracie family member just takes the pain and finishes the submission. The only good point is that it doesn't work if you're jumped, but neither does any fighting style.
@HardGainers...: I understand that Cyborg didnt say that he invented it, but thats exactly why he should give credit to Roleta, the inventor of the move, by calling it by its original name.
@luckydawg4life How far does that logic go back though, the greeks were doing Kimuras thousands of years ago, some of this stuff might be newly discovered, but none of it is new.
Cyborg is a sick grappler, but he didnt invent this. Roleta invented not only this sweep, ("the helicptor" sweep), but he inverted guard position as well 15-20 yrs ago! WTH?
this is awesome to play with, but i only have one problem with these kind of moves...if you watch cyborg compete he never uses this against black belts he just uses basics...stick with and perfect the basics people!
It took me a bit to get this. If you practice against a wall walking the wall back to inverted and back again you get used to the transistion and the head movement..The trick is to keep your hips close to the wall at all times. Doing it with a partner is more difficult but if you put the knee that isnt keeping half guard in the other guys diaphram & pull on his gi you can bow and arrow him for a second and then he will let you go inverted or do what ever takes that freaking knee out of his gut.
If you're a white belt don't worry about all this tornado guard stuff focus on your fundamentals before you start worrying about the advanced techniques
This video is EPIC.. I love BJJ and it still amazes me that there are SOOO many different possibilities from every position.. Transitions are endless! Great video!!
@DanLujan i find it so hard to understand why north americans find it so hard to understand different accents. Is it a lack of creativity , because i heard what he said very clearly. I don't speak portuguese. Matter fact, i am ghanaian i had to learn how to speak english. even so, i had no problem with him.
