The "S" word would have been replaced by a silence gap, or a substitute word. Miss Benita is one of my favorite character sketches on the show. I love this show, too! I even have all 5 seasons on DVD. If you want, you can get them from various sources. I must warn you in advance that several seasons have been edited (I assume the 3rd, 4th and 5th ones), either in the sense of some sketches being replaced with repeats or different ones. Some of the in between dance segments have been edited as well, having different songs that don't quite match the Fly Girls' movements. This may have been for copyright reasons, but who knows.

I agree! Miss Benita was a riot as well as the other character sketches that she and the resst of the cast did. And, it still is even in reruns. I wish it could have lasted more than 5 seasons, but from what I learned, the 5th season was not as good and had "jumped the shark". In that season, the Wayans family was gone as well as Kelly Coffield. there were a bunch of lesser known actors to fill the spots, but it wasn't the same. But, I felt the 5th season was funny too. :)

Actually, the Wayans once stated that they began to limit exposure to popular characters such as Ms.Benita, Homey da Clown, Firemarshal Bill, etc... because it's tough to keep them funny with constant exposure.

Same way with "Karen" on Will&Grace... she usually got 3-7minutes less exposure per episode than any of the other characters.

Kim Wayans was my favorite - I loved everything she did on that show. I loved her and David Allen Grier as that old couple ("we're still together") -- some of the things they would say to each other would have me howling. But Benita was by far my favorite. I would give my eye teeth to see the clip where she was the uninvited wedding guest again. I used to have it on a VHS tape and I played it so much, the tape ripped in half!

I would certainly agree with you on that... I wish Kim had gotten the same degree of recognition that Jim Carrey, D.A.Grier, Tommy Davidson, etc all received. She truly deserved it.

Yea, I saw I Love LaQuita - it was a hoot, but I still like Benita the best. I would love to find all the Benita clips, but I've only been able to find 4 online (this one, the one where she's doing laundry, the one where she's in court, and the one where she's on a neighborhood watch).
