I am so sad about selling our Red Escort MK2 RS2000..... if i was 7 years my old brother drives me around in this car, and it was so amazing this old 2 liter DOHC straight 4zylinder with a sound like the rally cars of the 70s.

A full podium (1-2-3) was achieved 8 times at Monte Carlo.The only car to do it twice was Alpine Renault, '71, '73.The remaining 6 are Mercedes 220 SE (1960), Panhard PL (1961), Lancia Stratos (1976), Audi Quattro (1984), Lancia Integrale (1989), Citroen Xsara (2003). Alpine Renault was the last sleek, tough, ultra-fast road car before Stratos arrived. To me, the 70s are all about Alpine and Stratos. These two were on every Monte podium but one in the 70s.They won the first 4 WRC championships.

Great video. Fine music. But where is the Alpine Renault A110? This car dominated rally in the early 70s before Stratos arrived on the scene. Full podium finishes at two Monte Carlos. The very first WRC championship in 1973. These sleek, beautiful little cars cannot be left out anything called "70s"

I think these years are the gold times of rallying sport. today is so different, less sport, more marketing, merchandising... the old drivers drove for +24h during several days and today they drive 24 hours in total in a rally....

Amen to that. Some days the only break the driver got was between stages, when the co-driver did the driving. AND THEY DID NIGHT STAGES AT EVERY RALLY!!!!!

macchine di questo calibro non se ne vedono più, sono sempre rimasto affascinato dalle auto da rally degli anni '70. Notare quanto controsterzo davano! Nel on board camera si vede proprio il pilota fare un giro completo per mettere la macchina in assetto! incredibile, poi bestioni come la Stratos, erano dure da tenere in strada! : ) Bellissimo video 5/5!
