25 years before, I was watching this movie with parents and my big brother. 13 years old bother said, " Hey, they still have advantage, because of gun and camping car! " How can cult-group attack them? They have to jump fire and attack inside. Surrounding fire doesn't help at all. They have to break car's tires first!
1975 with average actors, some bad stunts and a simply script that scared the hell out of me, job well done this movie always gave me the creeps...even now 35 years later still a cult classic
I agree, a fantastic ending that had my girlfriend digging her nails into my arm--that it was at the drive-in, which, given how so much of the movie was in a vehicle, creeped her out even more. Saw it on a double bill with Black Christmas, another effective chiller.
The ending of this movie scared the crap out of me also. I saw this movie when I was 9 years old with my brother and mother at the drive in theater! Mwwhahahhahaaaa!
Man, I have been looking for this movie for the longest time because it scared the hell out of me when i was a kid. Its the one horror film that stayed with me all these years.
i was like a little kid maybe 5 0r 6 and i remember this from my youth ..but as i got older i had forgotten the name of this movie until lately ..(im now 30)
I remember watching this when it came out, this part still gives me the creeps, what have you got to lose, drive through the fire, you may have a chance or stay there and get sacrificed!@ BUMMER
Your right...... the RV still runs, so crank it and run over the fire and them! They also still have the 12 gauge pump shotgun to take out a few. Yet I do love the creepy ending that called for a good sequel!
If I knew this was the end for me, I'd at least take out that sheriff with a shotgun blast. Prepare to meet your idol, badge-man!

It's just a Movie though, if it scared you, then you have to give the filmmakers credit for making a good Movie, which is what they intended.

what does it take for these four idiots to learn? DON'T PARK YOUR RV OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY!

that was a hillarious comment. I cracked up.

If I were Peter Fonda in this scene, I would go out of the RV and hum in monotone with them so it looks so my life will be spared.

On par with the original Wickerman I think this was one of the best shock endings in horror history......

I like the way they leave the ending open for us to decide. If it was up to me, I would have done a sequel to close it off.
