About the sound issue: Right-click the second clip and click "extract audio". Then put the audio-clip into the second Soundtimeline of iMovieHD. Thanks for your comments + hope this helped you.

@whatdlilahwhat Lines usually appear when the one clip overlaps the other, but with iMovie HD the clips bend together. If the bluescreen of the first clip ends were the second clip bluescreen starts (exactly), then there shouldn't be any line.
