Please, come on! You can mix arepas with any other kind of food you want, that's exactly what makes arepas so versatile. I've eaten arepas with crab or octopus a lot of times. Of course, those arepas that guy made look really strange. Anyway, I'd rather eat them with pabellon. Delicious!!!

i had arepas for the first time when i went to miami. one from a street cart that was yellow cornmeal and plain cheese, and then my friends mom made one that was with white cornmeal and american cheese. i wish i could have tried a filled arepa....
