After you take control of a providence and make it a vassal can the clan that's your vassal betray you and declare war on you?

They can indeed, if they end up hating your guts.

Doesn't happen too often though, and the vassals automatically engage in war against your own enemies, so you pretty much gain an extra army that you don't even need to control. It has advantages and disadvantages.

it is fun to fight with all of them at once , but the main issue are the rebellions because you need your armies at the borders and the provinces that aren't close to your armies are easy prey for a rebellion , but If you upgrade your palace or defences or whatever at lvl 6 you get bonus units defending the citys and bonus defence , 400-500 of thoose guys can handle 1000-2000 attackers, the rebelions are possible mainly because of lack of food or big taxes

Japanese prints are so cool. They way they were made is they would carve out a stamp on a wood block, and press it into the paper. Then they would carve out another block for a different color, and so on. Pretty impressive.

btw, the 45-60men unit left when the enemy leaves a settlement is a "default" garrison, they will allways be there.

im sure you know by now, but you have to make sure you keep making money every turn ^^ more units = more upkeep... i remember napolen total war... it was easy and you didnt have to worry about it as mutch.. but in shogun you'll need to worry about it all the time... unfortunetly

good game when i got the legions in that game i would start churning out 3 armies and hide them for when the senate made their move on me so as soon as they declared war all 3 of those armies demolished rome in 1 battle without losing more than a 10th of the army thank you catapults

Dude they're armoured Samurai, do you know how long that'd take for a simple unit like the Bow Ashigaru? Plus melee battles are far more entertaining for the viewer of this video AND the player of the battle. Not to mention to get in range of the enemy they'd have to get past the fortress walls and well, by doing such a thing they'd also put themselves in range of the samurai and thus... He'd lose the Bowmen.
