  • gotta be honest, that girl doesn't look like she's a big chocolate eater. Probably the most calories she's had in years

  • She's my favourite Flake girl. I really fancied her as a teenage boy.

  • People thought she was Marilyn Crossey the flake girl who died but she came forward and said she was still alive! Which advert was Marilyn actually in then? I'm confused...

  • Cadbury Flake

  • God, I could murder a Cadburys's Flake,

but then I guess you wouldn't let me into heaven,

Or maybe you would because their adverts promote oral sex.

A romany bint in a field with her paints, suggesting we faint at her beauty,

but she's got Dickie Davis eyes.

  • from a bygone age when gypsies wer're perceived as thieving basterds who behaved like dirty animals whereever they went.

  • the voice on this ad is Dave Lloyd, who later found fame as lead vocallist with Nutz, who are from Liverpool.if you search on here for nutz(cool me down) you will see Dave and the boys performing on the old grey whistle test.

  • Ah, yes...she's a damn good reason why to not be gay, lol

  • Can't believe this was on our TVs in 1985 !!!

  • who please sang this song? whose voice did this belong to ... would love to know ... :o) always loved the voice of this dude! lol

  • Flake isnt the same anymore... it no longer melts in the mouth...dunno what craft put in it but it tastes gross

  • @CowsAndCrows vege oil, loads of it, to stop it melting in warmer climates

  • the girl in the advertor was on radion on three counties radio lol

  • is it just me that finds it funny that she puts long chocolate sticks in her mouth bowchickawowwow

  • Graham Stokes - Only the Love.

  • Mmmm...flake.

    MMMM...flake girl!

  • what a great advert this was. Brings tears to my eyes watching it. Lets hope Kraft Foods Inc. bring it back.

  • do you know how the idea for flake came? When they made chocolate, they used to have flakes of chocolate left on the machines used to make the chocolate. They decided to put all these flakes together, and make the flake.

    Mmm... flake.

  • I love flake!!! My grandma lives in England, and when we went to do visit, she had a mixed bag of candy, and flake was one of them. I about died and went to heaven. Then a specialty store in the US started stocking them, and I was so happy!

  • @42believers how about twirl. Thats flake in a chocolate coating.

  • 16? she was like a woman when i was watching it at 15....no way,

  • Perhaps you were just a small, insignificant boy? :P

Girls DEFINITELY matured quicker back in the day. In the 1980s, teenagers were ALL woman!

  • 16 and so hot i would so hit ittttt

  • Definitely the best chocolate ever made.

  • @truthaboutflu yes i agree my favouritest choc in the world lol

  • SHOOTING STARS DONE IT!!

    Club style singer

  • The singer was Dave Loyd from Liverpool,

who was in Rage & Nutz in the 70's

  • Damm!! the model was only 16 when she made this advert.

  • "Only" 16? The last time I checked 16 was perfectly legal. So don't fight it, my good friend.

  • Totally beautiful music....

  • its a catchy fucking tune!!

  • "God I could murder a Cadbury's Flake,

Then I guess you wouldn't let me into heaven.

Or maybe you would 'cause their adverts promote oral sex"

    - "Dickie Davies Eyes" by Half Man Half Biscuit

  • Me mum probaly remembers this

    I do

  • It is the ultimate advert for a blow job is it not? that at least is the way my hormones interpreted it.

  • I remember this one, so yeah, 1985 sounds about right. Unlike 1981, as Phillip Schofield suggested. Why bullshit me for?

  • HAHA... why were the 80s so funny?

  • Suggestively eats a Flake eh? Hmmm. In 1 million sample tests, 1 million people ate a Flake by putting 1 end in their mouth then biting it.

    Seems quite normal to me.

  • This advert is a metaphor for interracial oral sex.

  • lol racist perv

    jokes man, no offence

  • Comment removed

  • I think you might be reading a bit too much into this, I can go with your blow-job theory, but I don't see any race intent.

  • Um... What about Ginsters pasties, please!

    Outraged from Bournmouth.

  • My God this song is brilliant! Who sings it?!

  • I saw the girl in this Ad on TV about 10 minutes ago, she only looked about 25 years old!

  • I did too! She was on The Justin Lee Collins show!

  • Amazing, I remember this from my childhood. What a beautiful girl. A clever ad. Flakes are so yummy. They need to make more adverts like this today.

  • And so much cheesier than your average cheese.....

And you can even get Sausage and Bean pasties in there now.....I'd like to see Cadburys top that one!!!

  • What... with a few flakes of their ever famous cadbury's flake?

Hmmmm...not sure about that one meself.

  • You've obviously never heard of Cadbury's mushy pea and walnut caramel fritter.

  • Flake only comes a paltry second place, when compared to Greggs pasties.....the crumbliest, flakiest cheesiest pasties in the world......

  • Oh you are so correct there, Heather. Greggs pasties are the best and are indeed so much more flakier than yer average flake.

  • Heather the Biatch....loves em!

  • woah that is an old advert...

  • i love the song from the advert, the flake one.. but once i heard an rocky version of that song done by some group i cant rememeber by who .. any ideas anyone?

  • there is a version out there, i heard it on radio 1 years ago ,about 1990 but i cant find any info on it at all, hope someone can help!!!!

  • we are in a predicament.. i ave tried dif ways to find it, to no avail.. im pining my hopes you may come up with the goods :D hehe

  • hi, i got lucky, a folk/rock band called ramases released an album in 1975 called glass lid coffin, on it is a track only the loneliest, this is the original flake tune as far as i know. its not out on cd but and earlyer album called space hyms is on cd and you can get a version with 6 or 7 bonus track and it is one of these. hope this helps

  • ohh your a star! :) thank you!..

    xxx

  • dont get too carried away, i finaly downloaded a copy of the album and its not really like it. i can see where the website would think so though. the track i heard on radio in 91 was almost identical to the add but just different words something like 'only the loneliest love that you give me' il keep searching ! :(

  • Hi, did you ever find out who sang it? :-)

  • mmm crumbliest flakiest milk chocolate in the world.

  • straightners! lol

  • Thankyou Flake for teaching my girlfriend everything she knows.

  • You mean,..... oh no,.... surely not,.. oh please no,.. no ,... can't be,.. chocolate dildos? :o

Tut tut tut tut,.. naughty Cadbury.

  • ..........just dont eat one in the cinema with a white top on.........youll be soooooooorrrrrrrry!!!!!!!!!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm flake

  • It certainly is the crumbliest, flakiest Chocolate...

  • yes your right it wasn't marilyn the family and i did think she was the flake girl, she was a gorgeous model though!

  • my music lecturer wrote the music for this lol

we sing in choir aswell haha

  • awesome, tell him a full length epic remix should be produced..

  • in '85 i was wanking alot....

this ad was a young wankers bible

    :)

  • Your not kidding mate! My nob still hurts now!!

  • it is the best choc ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Does anybody know why Cadbury's Flake and easter eggs always seem to taste different to a cadbury's bar or chocolate buttons?

  • Time for a new Flake advert! I assume the 2000 girl would have to be some emo type; I won't complain :)

  • It is Janis Levy.

I'm researching British Adverts at the moment. If anyone has any unusual or rare footage of Ads from the 50s 60s 70s. It's hard to find them, does anyone know of any that aren't on youtube?

    Elizabeth de Villiers

    London UK

  • Nice one. Thanks for posting

  • I remember one advert at this time featuring a Gypsy van and a blonde girl poking her head out of the window towards the end! I had a mammoth crush on her, but it was only a fleeting glimpse. I would love to know what the advert is for so I can look it up on youtube!!!

  • For 70's and 80's cult UK Television, click on channel 'ScallywagTV'.

  • OMG your right!Good detective work :o)

  • Positive. check daily express page 19!! And look for correction in tomorrow's sun! Plus daily mail online correction!!

  • are you sure???????

  • HUGE erroneous mistaked in newspapers. This girl is Janis Levy, the Flake Girl. The girl who died is someone else, never a flake girl. HUGE mistakes in newspapers. Cadburys have sent press releases to all papers and newsdesks that they put the wrong pic in. This is Janis Levy and she is alive.

  • THis is Janis Levy, The Flake Girl, and she is alive!!! Please call Cadburys for verification and see newspaper corrections today. MArilyn was never the Flake girl.

  • She died of liver cancer.

  • You could have left the Coke ad on until the end or cut it off completely but cutting it off half way is just mean!

RIP Marilyn. Only 52 years but she sure lived them!

  • RIP

  • Her name is Marilyn Crossey she is originally from Telford, Shropshire and has been living in Spain for the last few years. She is a friend of the familys sister.

  • its actually Janice Leevy or somthing like that she was on tv tonight

  • Well guys i went out with her for 2 yrs.. oh yes! in 1999 . louise deacon is her name and she did it as a one of. She wasnt even a model. thing is i wish i knew were she was now!! She was a very lovely person and i do miss her .

  • Pics or it never happened.

  • As odd as this may seem i have no pics as my exes after that made me get rid of them all, thats why i was visiting this sight. Believe me or not it matters not. ;)

  • this advert came as one of the best advert on channel 4 t.v.

  • God we had some good adverts then.

  • Anyone know who that luscious beauty in this advert is? I'd much appreciate it if anyone can tell me, then I will be happy that I can "Google" her, and be at peace LOL, then also find some pictures of her on Google aswell :-D

  • Sorry I don't know her name but bear in mind that this advert was made almost 25 years ago.

  • Yeah I know when it was made, but thanks anyway ;) She will still be around somewhere no doubt....I will find out....OH YES I WILL :-D

  • Good luck!

  • No, but if the video runs another few minutes, you see that fuckin gypsy getting shagged up the arse in the back of that wagon - that dirty slag!

  • Erm, yeah.....ok

  • Marilyn Crossey aged 52. Unfortunately she has died of cancer.

  • if only life was like this ad.

  • Indeed :)

  • Yeah everyone knows that all the flake adverts were about sex, Bloody hell, the flake itself was superimposed over a black mans cock- you can tell just by the way they look at it, then get their mouth around it

  • haha funny comment i love it.

  • Just shows how times have changed. We can't watch this ad now without thinking of phallic symbolism. We'll probably never see these ads screened again

  • What you on about dude? We were thinking of phallic symbolism when it was originally on TV LOL. Well maybe not me as I was only a kid, but i'm sure all the blokes were, and if i'd been 32 back then when this was first on, i'm sure i'd've been lusting after her too. What a woman :-D

  • I don't see what was so suggestive about that. Its not like she was giving it deep throat or something.

  • How many flakes does she eat in a day?! gosh.

  • LOL, I think that she wrapped up the one she took a bite out of and then finished it when she got on the carriage.

  • I thought that this advert had come out earlier then 1985, I recall 1983

  • Can anyone tell me who sings this?

  • His name is Dave Lloyd and he's from Liverpool. He was in the rock band Rage (formerly Nutz). I used to see him sing in a bar in Liverpool called The Cumberland in the 80's with a band called Sliced Bread who performed 70's/80's rock covers.

  • Thank you.

  • classic, the best

  • 'Calm down dear!', it's just an advert with a woman eating a Flake in a sunflower field. Any other interpretation is in the mind of the viewer. Also, in it's earlier days the Flake bar was marketed for grown-ups and not children.

  • This was 1985..like 23 years ago. Bit late for complaints!

  • yeah.. as OTT as this advert is and over-sexual, at least its a bit more exciting than the new one.. it show the difference between now and then, much more exciting times in those days.

  • Agreed definately, this is one sexy advert the last flake advert of the 80s (1989?). It was not as good as this one though. But it was very risque and caused media storm because of the 'suggestive' way the actress ate the flake ;)and the imagery it had in it

  • i'd flake her

  • Classic. beautiful woman. Beautiful singing

  • Ah the 1980's

  • Flake girls go with anyone, even travellers.

  • only the crumbliest flakiest blow job!

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the coke advert at the end of this flake music., or if there is a full coke advert of this music

  • has anyone got this music in an mp3 form that they can email me

  • No, but using a downloadable program called Audacity you can 'record' it via listening to it on youtube :)

  • you can tell how old blokes are by their choice of the sexiest flake girl................this one was mine

  • One of the best mottoes/slogans of all time. "Only the crumbliest, flakiest CHOCOLATE!!! Tastes like chocolate never tasted before..." Hahaha I wasn't even born when this ad was made.

  • it brings back great memories.. flake adverts have this special feel ..beyond explanation. I just wish i had my own clips

  • Janice Levy ithink her name is something like that, my heart missis a beat every time i watch this .

  • Yes, it reminds me of watching my television in the 80's as well.

  • i like this advert., it reminds me of watching ads in my old tv back in the 80s
