@worldbmx I just got my D5000 3 days ago, It's a little old but what the heck I just started photography. Anyways, Got th D5000, Getting the iPad 2 on December, you know, So I could earn money off my allowance.
@torquemenistan Hey! I' also new in photography, and started for a couple of month ago but right now I have the Samsung WB500 compact longzoom camera and I want an systemcamera so damn much but also want the iPad 2 :/ I found this package with the D5000 and the 18-55 mm VR lens kit for just $673.68, worth the money to upgrade from an longzoom 10.2 MP compact camera to this? It is the lowest price I can found in a store here in Sweden.
Ah well I would really want to see some pictures from ya :P
@worldbmx That's a good deal bro, though, if you've got more money in you, you might want to check out the d5100, slightly better than its predecessor. Right now I don't really have any professional pics because my schedule in college is kinda hectic. But if you really want the D5000, it's a really good choice, I'm so damn happy with it :)
@planetusa i believe the gap regarding what's semi professional and professional is little nowadays. d7000 is perhaps all everyone need. check out... freedslr . com remove spaces and get a chance to bring home a new Nikon D7000
Hi! Erm...what do you thing of the Nikon D3000. I want to start photography and i would like to know about that camera. I am not really interested in the video mode but anyway.. So please tell me. Nice video anyway.
i want a SLR camera and it would be my 1st SLR camera would u recommend the d5000 ? some1 said they aint very good at night time photography is that true ?
hello. im just wondering if its normal for the little green light on the bak to flicker when you attach the lens (even though its off) and when you turn the camera on and off??, i noticed i didnt happen to u... i hope is nothing baD and its just normal.
@Dingado14 d90, I just went to costco the other day, if you have big hands, d90 the screen is 100% better and larger, top facing lcd, just overall worth the money, trust me, youll be happier with a d90
@POLOonMYchest I agree with ObayBrandon - going into the store to try it out is a great idea and you can try other cameras free of charge. I don't know what shops do that in America but in the UK then Jessops is great and cheap. Failing that you can also have a look online Camera Labs is great and is on Youtube. Maybe check out their website.
Anyway thanks again for the unboxing ObayBrandon and good luck poloonmychest with choosing your camera.
I've been looking at this camera for awhile, tired of PS's and wanted to get a entry level DSLR. Went to a wedding alittle while ago and you really miss alot of great shots that you wouldn't with a DSLR. Your videos on this camera helped, will have to pick up the grip aswell when i get it.
@Hypebeast90 its a good camera, the grip is really nice too, but if you do i would get a different lens, 55-200mm Nikor lens just so that you dont have to be too close to somebody
It's an extra feature. What I personally don't understand is why people like you keep on complaining about something that really doesn't concern nor bother you....If you really don't like an extra freaking feature, then look for a DSLR that doesn't have video, but don't come over here crying about something that could easily be solved. Tons of people are saving money, getting a DSLR and a makeshift Video Camera in the SAME BODY...but you are apparently an ignorant fool who doesn't care.
it depends what you want, I was a little biased when deciding between the two, I really like the vari angled screen, i'd rather have that then a better quality screen, this one is 650$, canon was 720$
i got one eirly 2009 and its still working perfect !

Can you turn the viewfinder so you can see yourself whilst filming like with normal video cameras or does it only go to the bottom?

What would you recommend? Nikon D5000 or D90? I'm having a hard time choosing between those two. Is it worth to spend the little extra money on D90?

what is with people buying DSLRs as video cameras. I just don't understand it.
