  • thanx for the commercial! this song is now REMOVED from my playlist!

  • Leadbelly lives!! In his music forever!!

  • The golden gate quartet are singing back up

  • luv it.Thank You Leadbelly, for all the great music.

  • first time I heard this one....awesome!

  • He sang it like it was man. He was good.

  • 1:15 - fook me, how does he sing like that?? Leadbely has such variety in song style -- awesome. Led Zep ripped loads from him (and other bluesmen or even folk singers like Davey Graham - e.g. ) - and did fantastic versions - just wish they would have given credit for the origins of many tunes and classic lyrics that pepper their songs.

  • @mikegalsworthy leadbelley was a folk singer, not a bluesman.

he didnt write this song, and didnt write most of his songs. he simply provided his renditions (which were obviously quite good) of various southern folk songs. basically like doc watson.

  • @AgentCarter - points taken. :) thanks.

  • @mikegalsworthy transcending

    i gues

    honouring eveything known

and adding a touch of 'extra'

    expansive supernatural if u want

    2p & bless

  • Jesus, this is a total ROCK SONG being played on an acoustic guitar in 1940. Amazing.

  • Like my music store guy said to me once, "You can't have too much Leadbelly"

  • How did I miss this great talent ? (Brilliant)

  • I know Isn't like for like, but the riff remind me R&R led zep

  • @legaliseuprebuggiun you would mean led zep sounds like this because a grip of there songs were old blues covers

  • I think he says "You ought to be like me, you ought to be like me, you can drink your good Hye Texas Whiskey boys and let the king corn be" can anyone else hear it. Or have any ideas about what it could be?
