I see no fault in Jasons actions when he left the band that LEFT HIM! As Jason stated himself...he needed to stand up for himself and stand up for his principles which were entirely different from the rest of the band who decided to take a break to play house instead of playing music! He's played with Metallica, Voivod, and Flotsam & Jetsam which means he's played with some of the biggest bands in metal in both the underground and mainstream and he was able to hold his own. Jason has got nothing to prove about his metal credentials and he's just a fan of playing good music.

I doubt that Newsted left the band because he "wanted to play music". Newsted had some real beef with James and personally stated that he never felt like he belonged. "Glean", together with the band itself, really just completely stayed under the radar even though it contains songs that I would consider downright classcis. For example, If you want to hear the best Beatles song the Beatles never wrote, just listen to the track "Modern Science". Pure, incredible songwritingship...
