  • no, this is for splicing a new piece of thread to the end tail as you are sewing and should always be hidden inside the gutter of the book.

  • Aside from a little bump on the spine, what kind of adverse effects would result from tying the new thread in on the outside as opposed to in the gutter? Just curious
