Hello! I love the way bamboo looks but ive heard you cant grow it in water, is this true how is your bamboo doing i really want to get some in my tanks! Thank You :)
HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR WATER SO CLEAN AND CLEAR? PLEASE TELL ME EVERYTHING... I'M NEW AT THIS AND THE WATER ON MY AQUARIUM GETS DIRTY IN ONLY A FEW DAYS...HELP!!!!!!!!
CONS only the expensive ones look good, they shit more than they eat, when they get big they may eat other fish, and they get big they destroy your plants.
I have three clown loaches. One died because it got the ick really bad and the other got eaten my either my dragon fish or my ornate bichir.. I love those things!
fyi's, plecos require carnivore pellets if they get too rowdy and start going for your fish ;/ of course, only happens once they get too big, happened with mine, now its much better
That is one of the nicest Pleco's I have seen. I have two in my Cichlid tank and they are healthy - but not as good looking as yours. I assume this is due to the non violent nature of it's tank mates.
that is a really awesome tank.... but mines i would say equally if not better... but i don't have a pic :( i wish i could show you it cichlid sand on the bottom which is like mostly white sand with some black in it.. comes from the rivers in africa and helps control PH levels.. and i have calvus which is like a compresicep and i have a neolamp and a bunch of other exotics.... i like the phantom bubbler under the rocks... set up is really nice.!! great job buddy!
is there any specific bamboo you would reccomend to use, I am a major fish fan and have a 150 gallon tank hand crafted, i have as you could imagine quite a few fish and most of them are about a foot in length and they need space, but the smaller fish need somewhere to hide, maybe some type of shorter bamboo, and some more dense plants?
My bamboo plant made an oily residue on top of the water so I took it out, anyone else have this problem I really like it in the water it was tall and the leaves stuck out of the aquarium opening. Anyone know if the bamboo will will hurt the fish? I was particularly worried because I have a Betta that has to breath from the top and I don't want him sucking in that oil. Jesselehmann how are your plants/fish doing?
@jesselehmann please don't. That rule only apply to fish under 2 inches lol. A 20" pleco will most definitely not survive in a 20 gallon, but 10 2" tetras sure could. Take that into consideration please
@jesselehmann That rule is FAKE. How would a 10 inch Oscar survive in a 10 gallon tank? Or a 10 inch Plecostomus? Do your research before giving people uneducated advice.
@jesselehmann Put as many fish as you want as long asyour filtration is up to par you will be fine you will just have to remove some when they grow larger.
@jesselehmann dont want to be rude but please!!!!!, nver ever EVER fallow the inch per gallon rule. heres y: its now like you could have 15 inch oscaor in a 15 inch tank! or a 20 inch gold fish in a 20 gallon tank! you will over stock your tank! PWEASE!!! never fallow this rule Im begging you!!!! aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! :P
@2001pielover The rule is fine as a general rule as long as people count for all three dimensions of the fish instead of just counting length of the fish.
I had a plecostomus i bought when small and put in my 30 gal. I fed him green wafers of vege matter. He got so big i had a hard time netting him . He was killing my other fish. I had an eel i got and never saw it. iIt buried itself and died. Really stunk up the tank. I can never find cardinal tetras. They look good in a school.
@journeyquest1 hmmm this is a old comment but were i live they have cardinal tetras at petco, petsmart, petland and other local non franchise pet stores so maybe your not looking hard enough.
Yupp, they use it to help them with their food or something like that. My Plecostomus got to be like 10inch+ and it started eating some of my smaller fish hhaha. Oh well, all my fish died around the same time. It was after my coming back from Florida though, might be because there was some disease =P
Hey I have a question. I just bought three Julie Cory's yesterday (Feb 14) and i'm not really familiar with corey's but they are swimming around singly and they are not staying at the bottom, instead they are swimming around the mid section and top, and one in particular swims and lands on my plastic plant and just sits there. Can you tell me what's wrong or how to fix this problem? Or maybe even why this is happening?
I have had im for 3 years, and he was already 7 inches when I got him so I don't even know how old he really is.. you want im? He is too big for my 55 gallon now....thanks for the comment!
nice tank. I just put some lucky bamboo in my tank yesterday and worried a little bit. I guess it'll be alright :) Nice tank, but not really good camera.
is that another way of saying that my tank is not, in fact, the most beautiful? What do you mean by this? Why would you take teh time to write such a thing? Have you nothing better to do?
Hey nice tank. I was wondering about your cory's barbels. How are the barbels in gravel? I'm planning on getting several but I hear that gravel is somewhat bad for them. Thanks in advance.
I have not heard that gravel is bad for their barbels and, considering their natural habitat, I can say with confidence that this is a minor issue at best. Your Corydora's are elegant and beautiful little fish and they are careful with thier barbels as we are with our fingers. I have personally owned dozens and they all had long lives in a variety of gravels. If you are worries about it use river pebbles instead of manufactured gravel. It will be more smooth and more like their river habitat. JL
i dont think my first comment got through but my albino oscar has hole in th head and i cant find the medicine anywhere. she is probably going to die soon. i got all my fish at walmart and they were al fine except for the albino oscar. she had hith when i got her and that was 2 months ago. i didnt she was sick until recently when i looked up hith online. i have a pleco too that i forgot to mention.
Well it turns out that HITH remains something of a mystery. As with most aquatic diseases in captivity, the number one factor is usually environment. There is no "HITH" cure that I know of, but keep looking. In the mean time, you need to do what you can to allow your fish to fight the disease themselves by creating the MOST optimal water conditions you can. Get an Air bar to add oxygen, replace all your water with store bought distilled and one 3.5 of mineral water.
if you don't know any HITH remedies do you know any other ways of keeping the rest of the fish healthy? i have 3 african cichlids(the walmart tag didn't say what species although i think one is a yellow lab) 2 south american cichlids (again i don't know which species) and one more oscar. please help
amazing tank! how many gallons is it? and i loveeee your pleco!! it looks like something ancient and the bamboo is really simple but its looks sooo good! but one thing i think i would have included larger fish than the many tetras but its still really really nicee!!
Hey Kempogirl! Thank you so much for your kind words; we all work so hard on our tanks, it is so nice when people take notice, and even nicer to take the time and let me know you liked it! I practice Kenpo, do you? My tank is a 55 gallon tru vue. Its a fantastic company, and also I would recommend Bamboo for anyone. It just works. I prefer the smaller fishes because they are a bit more peaceful. Thanks again. --Jesse
thanks so much! how nice it is of you to take the time to leave such a sweet and simple comment! Thanks so much! I would love to see your tank! Always love getting new videos!--Jesse
you have to get a air pump and a tube. u can get those at petsmart. and you simply cut little tiny holes in the tube and run it through the gravel and then turn on the air pump
Well thank you very much for your kind words. Well the bamboo looks fantastic, and I feel it is a very hearty plant that does well. It will eventually rot under water, usually, but this can take up to a couple of years so I highly recommend it for your tank. I got mine for $1.99 per plant if you are interested. -Jesse
so does the bamboo grows fine under water ?? .....btw i have a 60gal tank ....i used to have livebearers in it ...now i want some better fish ...plzz recommend wat i should get ! ..

@Francheska7778 hay i know the comment wasnt meant for me but my water qualty is great to so i can help.
1.have atleast 1 pound of gravel per gallon if not more , more is allways better
2.replace the carbon in your filter more regularly than it sais on the box ,
3.dont over stock your tank ,
4.also dont follow the 1 inch of fish per gallon rule ,follow the 1 cm of fish per liter rule.
p.s if you want to see my tank im uploading a vid soon so u will be able to see how good my water is

Get an Air bar to add oxygen, replace all your water with store bought distilled and one 3.5 of mineral water.

if you don't know any HITH remedies do you know any other ways of keeping the rest of the fish healthy? i have 3 african cichlids(the walmart tag didn't say what species although i think one is a yellow lab) 2 south american cichlids (again i don't know which species) and one more oscar. please help

--Jesse

how did you get the bubbles to come out of the gravel
quinner52 2 years ago
you have to get a air pump and a tube. u can get those at petsmart. and you simply cut little tiny holes in the tube and run it through the gravel and then turn on the air pump

Wow really cool tank my tank is new because i upgraded to a 20 gallon and its going through the cloudy stage. How much is the bamboo

-Jesse
