  • I think she's beautiful. Whether she has an eating disorder or not, the passion is on the stage. We view for the art, to criticize the art, not her personal (if they bee real or imagined) struggles. Man up, people. <3

  • i never understood wat modern dance was and still do not......wat is it?

  • get some meat on those bones :P

  • Lindsay Doris ...Any relation to Humphrey Doris? :)

  • Love this song, The Snowman <3 <3

  • Beautiful piece! i loved watching it! you have great motion

  • i love her dress :)

  • I found this dancer hard to watch as the dancer does not appear comfortable with the movements. Although she is thin her long arms are heavy.

  • In all my 19 years of dance I've never seen a dancer that thin. She has an eating disorder for sureim a med student and I can tell you she's not healthy.

  • @angelicam8051 Just because *you've* never seen a dancer that thin doesn't mean she has an eating disorder. Besides, if you've never seen a dancer so thin, how would you recognize one with an eating disorder if you saw one? =P And besides, if you're a med student you should know that people with eating disorders lose muscle first, not fat, and she obviously has strength. If she were malnourished her movements would be weak, and she wouldn't be so graceful. Don't go saying what she is or isn't.

  • I've seen thin dancers but b

  • what a beautiful dance! amazing really!

just saying in response to all those people saying that she has an eating disorder, it really isnt that strange for a dancer to be thin like her, some people are born thin? shemost likely has a fast metabolism.

    ANYWAY, AMAZING JOB! :)

  • Good dancer, but I'd like to see choreography more fit for her body type. The movements were a little quick and sharp for her long, willowy limbs.

  • This really is a wonderful dance! But I think most people are assuming she has an eating disorder because it is not normal to be that skinny at that height and also because she is a dancer and many people who develop eating disorders are dancers and gymnasts etc

  • beautiful!

  • You, are an amazing dancer!!! I only hope that I could be as good as you are:)

  • Great dance. She could've chosen a better song, though. You can do any dance to this song, really.

  • Fucking terrible.

  • You are a amazing dancer. I wish I could perform like that and with as much passion

  • This was a truely amazing peice filled with lots of heart.

My best friend is just as skinny as she is and does not have an eating disorder so believe her when she says she doesnt. congratulations on working hard as a dancer and achieving this master piece you will go far if you keep your mind on it

  • waaaaauuuw amazingg!

i loved every piece of it!:D

  • Dancers come in all sizes. I've seen thick dancers who are just amazing, & I've seen thin dancers who are equally as amazing.

She is a beautiful dancer, I don't see why her being thin is such a big deal.

  • this seems a bit slow 4 a modern solo...but really good!

  • Absolutely beautiful! What amazing talent, practice and dedication! Telling a story with your body with grace and art.

  • Beautiful!

I think you may want to check out a dance contest on Talenthouse[dot]com to win a scholarship to Paul Taylor's Dance Academy! All you need to do is submit a 90 second youtube URL.

I hope you give it a try! Good luck!

  • Hey. You're a pretty amazing dancer. it takes a lot to tell a story through dance to a song with no words. but, you did it (:

  • This is a beautiful dance with a lot of technical skill, and clearly BrittanyyCam is one of those chubby and shitty dancers. :D

  • you're so good! I love watching you!

  • this is really good. !

  • Your movements are so fluid and gaceful :) I love watching you dance

  • nuthin wrong with that. stick with it.

  • Prettyful :)

  • Pretty =)

  • Guys if she was anorexic, she would not be able to do that. Seriously, people are just naturally thin so back off.

Loved it SOOO much and I'm stealing some of the moves :D

  • I'm sure she's a good dancer but to me it seems a bit awkward and forced.

  • all these people commenting on her weight, and telling her to eat, and saying how her body isn't 'right,' is how eating disorders start in the first place.

  • She is not a wonderful dancer because she is thin. She is a wonderful dancer because she dances with her whole mind body and soul.

  • How about you all SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT eating disorters.

Shes a Perfect Weight. And if your saying All Fat people are Good Dancers, Wrong? And if you say all Skinny people are Bad Dancers. Wrong again. Shes Skinny. So what ? Shes not Skin and Bones, So STFU, Shes a Wonderful Dancer. Good Job.

  • Wow you know...some people are just naturally thin. i mean i am. im tall and pretty thin and i get told im really skinny all the time and i hate it. i eat like a pig and pray to God that he will just make me gain weight already. i dnt understand why you guys are messing with this girl.she is an amazing dancer. and as a thin dancer myself i must say that she is freaking phenomenal(:

  • all these people commenting on the dancers weight is the reason for so many eating disorders in the first place.

  • o my gosh!!!!!!cornbread,toast,ice cream , cake.SOMETHIN!!!!

  • omg...eat some food please.

  • Yeah she looks very thin in this video, but what's it to you? You guys all talk about eating disorders and shit, but who are YOU to say what her diet is like? You don't even know this girl! Some people are just born with naturally fast metabolisms. Some are born with slow metabolisms. Just because someone is fat or skinny doesn't mean they have an eating disorder.

Anyway, I thought this dance was beautiful, and it went SO well with the song. Also, that dress is really pretty! Good job! :]

  • everyone please stop commenting on her weight. im a dancer too and im not that skinny but it sure as hell doesnt look like i eat as much as i do. she is perfectly healthy in this. just because someone looks that skinny doesnt mean they have eating disorders or something. not to mention it is extremely offensive commenting on someones weight, so leave her alone

  • DAnce no matter what shape or size can be breathtakingly beautiful. I find this beautiful young performer to be lean, and that is all. Anyone who would find this video "unhealthy" should then look at the lean girl who is serving you coffee, would that be unhealthy, or should we talk about the larger people who work in a fast food store. Get a grip people, and just dance!

  • beautiful <3

  • may i know what is the song used here? :) thanks!

  • Some of us just can't put on weight. I am 95 lbs, and eat all day long. My boyfriend gawked at me the other day because I bought four bags of chips as a SNACK. Granted I'm 5'2' so I'm just a tiny person all around but just because she's got height doesn't mean she isn't eating properly. And blatantly anyone who says otherwise is a rude shit who needs to shut their judgemental mouth.

  • @YourRomaniPrincess just wanted to say im 5"3 and about 90 pounds. i eat more than anyone i know, and i just CANNOT put on weight. i have never nor will i ever have an ED (and if i do itd be OVER eating lmao) but really, some people are just natrually very very skinny

  • who let her perform!!! this is defineatly not healthy

  • very elegant. Bravo.

  • is she anerexic?

  • doesnt this sound like bella's lullaby? i know its random but im curious! :)

  • everyone is dumb. you're beautiful and graceful. don't let dumb people ruin your fun. :) i wish i could dance like you!

  • lacks technique

  • For what it's worth, I know that most dancers (and a lot of regular people, too) would give a lot to look as thin as you do without being technically unhealthy.

  • She is grossly skinny..the dance would be way prettier if she gained weight and looked healthy

  • It's all beautiful: the dance, the dancer, her dress, the music.

    Favorited on my channel.

  • the skinnier, the gawkier the dance

  • Exquisite. You have interpreted the music with gracefulness and elegance. May your career in dance be long and fruitful. Thank you for showing us this.

  • This is beautiful, very nice! People that don't know better about art and dance as well just focus in the weight, and yes, it cause as the impression that you are skinny (and you said you don't know why), but I see someone flying, beautiful in the air, your moviments are soft and smooth, with no muscles blocking. it is a body free dancing in the air!! And I know how hard is to do it, and do not have nothing to do with weight, but with art and body's control and creation! I hope you see doing it

  • your a wonderful dancer and i lve this piece its really beautiful . Great technique and im sure now your way better good luck and never stop dancing:)

  • i actually think your body structure adds to the dance.. gives this feel to it... idk haha ^^ am i saying that people that aren't naturally built this way try to look like this? no. am i saying someone with a little more "meat" wouldn't have done a good or even a better job? no. i just think that this dancer gave the emotion and illusion that fit this dance perfectly.

  • Comment removed

  • i LOVE the different levels and emotions! SO genius! youre a remarkable dancer and your weight is fine!

dancers come in all sizes. some people prefer thinner dancers bc you can see the choreographed lines better and some people prefer "bigger" dancers bc they put a certain "oomph" in routines. but nontheless all dancers are beautiful!!!

    WOOOORK!!

  • Hmm..this really is a joy to watch...

it also looks like you took some ballet...

    did u?

  • i wore a dress like that in one of my dances!!!--kate

  • you look perfectly fine! and your an amazing dancer :]

  • She's beautiful, her weight is fine leave her alone. She knows what's healthy and best for her, so we should stop talking about how skinny she is and talk about how wonderful she danced :)

  • Too skinny, it's not healthy

  • Very pretty girl! =)

  • beautiful ^^

  • Lovely!

  • I remember dropping from 115 to 95 lbs when I was dancing several hours a day...and I ate like a pig! This girl is lovely.

  • An AMAZING DANCER RIGHT HERE! I think you are Beautiful just the way you are who cares if you are thin! I have a friend who went to a bunch of different doctors cuz she was so skinny and people thought she was anorexic or bealimic...nothing was wrong just naturally skinny thats all. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

  • beautifully done :) what song is this?

  • ur rly good and it dnt matter what size or shape u may be cuz im not skinny but im not fat and i dance and i love it so dnt listen to ppl who judge!i wanna go to college fot dance im in high skl now but im going to reach my goal! :) and nice with the pointed toes it rly helps! but anyway great job keep up the hard work!

  • Beauutiful dancerr <3

  • Oh wow! I really liked the part at 0:37 :) Nice job overall, too.

  • This is a very beautiful piece of dance! You look so elegant.

  • there is nothing wrong with her weight! my mom was 110 pounds at 5'11" when she was married......and she had no eatting disorder she just couldn't put on weight.....great dance :)

  • you are very good. :)

  • Ay. Anyone who thinks you have a disorder is completely uneducated. You look healthy in this video, with an archetypical dancer's body, and my first thought was that you have the genetics for a slim stature. You clearly are not anorexic, nor bulimic, and the fact that people say this about you shows that many viewers are completely ignorant in that aspect of life. That's all. PS- Fantastic form throughout.

  • It's very beautiful !!

    thanks for sharing :D !

  • one of the best solos ive seen and these people are talking about WEIGHT. wow

  • 1:20 .. WOW :)

  • People can be naturally skinny without having an eating disorder, especially in young adulthood. So calm down people, no one's dying here. Jeez.

  • Clearly you just have to have muscle to dance . But who cares about the size? what matters is that this is really amazing!

  • wow, your limbs are incredibily long!! i thought it was a really beautiful routine, though i thought it looked choreographed....kinda like you were always thinking what the next move is. At my dance theatre group we always say " you dance the dance, don't let the dance 'dance' you." Overall i thought it was beautiful. Great job!

  • it really doesnt matter what size you are you can either dance or you cant its one or the other. the problem with the girl in this video is that shes not flowing and hitting the right spots she seems unsure of her movement and she not very enthusiastic. when tall people dance they have to dance twice as hard for it to look right because of their long arms and legs.

  • I love your innate GRACE - As a choreographer I can tell its something that will always be with you through your training and process.

  • oh stop it! we're here to see dancing, if you want to talk about eating disorders, type in the search bar "anorexia" or "bulimia", i bet there's tons of videos where you can post your judgemental comments.

when people dance with their hearts, it's always touching, beautiful, amazing ... no matter what their bodys look like. and arielle, you're beautiful when you dance. so do never stop. do not even consider doing it.

  • @thebigcherryontop THANK YOU! FINALLY! HAHAH

  • love your dancing

  • so so so thin

  • her arms and legs are so long and skinny that she reminds me of jack skellington, but overall, amazing technique.

  • oh... girl you rock =) I like that routine... :) you are already on my Facebook-wall :)

    have fun and dance =)

  • excellent performance, i must say.

i've been dancing since i was 6, and Modern is one of my favorites! impressive!

  • garbus

  • i don't believe you have an eating disorder.. a friend of mine has your body type.. tall and slim.. and she eats like a horse..lol..

  • as the dancer in this video i can tell you that i was not even close to 50 lbs, actually more like 115 for being 5'7", i agree that i look exceptionally skinny in this video, its not the way i look now, and it even bothers me a little bit to watch this now, but i have not ever had any eating disorders, actually i stuff my face with more carbs, sugars, and fats then anyone i know but have a lot of trouble putting on weight, so please stop with the ED comments because the are offensive and rude

  • @AriellePetruzzella You look fine and beautiful. Im a dancer too and you did awesome in tshi by the way :]

  • @AriellePetruzzella I understand you. Don't listen to anyone here. In fact, it's funny how our bodies work. My best friend used to be so skinny throughout highschool but she ate way more than I could. And guess what? I was the fat one. I eat more now a days then I ever did in my chubby years, but the weight has been coming off all on it's own. And my best friend, she filled out after her 18th year. PS ought I want to take modern dance and I feel like I wont be able to pull off moves like that!

  • @AriellePetruzzella Some women are just naturaly lean and you happen to be one of them. i dont think you look like you have an eating disorder. I have known women and men who have had disorders and they look terrible. My sister inlaw has the exact same body type as you and she gets lots of flack too. the best part is she is pregnant! I think you look gorgeous and your dancing is superb!

  • @AriellePetruzzella... omg ppl are stupid sometimes.... im the same way i stuff myself and cant gain weight... ur a beautiful dancer... i used to get rude comments and asked if i had an eating disorder..pissed me off.. but i stopped caring i love my body and the ppl that used to make fun of me are now sayinf i look good cuz im still thin and they gained a lot of wight... we cant help it its how we are.... let them say wat they want, we know who we are!!!!

  • @AriellePetruzzella. I think this is beautiful and very moving. Also, I am a dancer and I believe that there is a constant stigma surrounding thin dancers and a persistent notion that all thin dancers have some sort of eating disorder. Furthermore, I had an eating disorder for five years and was never below 125 pound (and I am 5'4"). I was never confronted but many dancers I worked with were pulled aside while they were in school because they were dancers and skinny.

  • Beautiful to watch...if only I could dance like this at 48.

  • @AriellePetruzzella Your not To Skinny, Your a Wonderful Size, Some people Cant Gain Weight, Unlike BritanyyCam Who is probally 15 Years old and 300 Pounds

  • @AriellePetruzzella seriously im like that skinny right now and im what , 103 . that looks nothing close to 50 . i know exactly what you mean because it took me like 3 yrs. to even get a hundred but its not like i dont eat in fact i eat alot ....hehhe probably more than i should , but im able to maintain my body , thats just how it is . obviously this other person must have some issues with skinny dancers to make a comment like that .

  • @BrittanyyCam okay um, A lot of dancers look like that. Shes perfectly normal. Just because youre a dancer and you dont look like that, dont judge her and criticize her. She looks FINE. Shes just tall and yes, skinny, but not abnormally skinny. So shush about all that crap. Im 5'2" and I weigh 87 pounds. However, I eat SO much carbs and sugars my friends yell at me. I can eat a whole pizza. So maybe she just has a fast metabolism. So shut up about it and leave her alone.

  • @han4736 you dont need to be rude,

like actually? we all stating the same thing. Ive been dancing for 16years now.

and am pretty sure dancers dont look like they are ready to snap. yeah its maybe her metabolism.. but you dont need to be rude about

    so stfu.

  • @BrittanyyCam

first, it's not healthy to be ANYONE with an eating disorder.

second, you can't be "too chubby" or "too thin" to dance. anybody can dance.

it's about passion, not about your body size.

  • @BrittanyyCam

so true with many skinny people, they can eat a cow and you couldn't tell.

  • very good lines. could use a little more control in your arms they seem to be moving 'you' rather than you moving 'them' but overall this was a GREAT dance good for you =]

  • wow beautiful!, but she is too thin :S

  • Very good performance! This is also performed to one of my favorite songs too...

  • what is the song called?

  • wow, i love your dress. and your movements are really smooth; but most of all, i love the choreography :)

  • Never Let What people Say,

    Stop You From Dancing!

    :] Your fabb !

  • since when was being a dancer about looks? there could be a horrible dancer that is pretty and thin and a great dancer who is ugly and "chubby". dance isn't about how someone looks, its about how they dance. think about that.

  • i agree thers no weight issues with her. gorgoues dancer n beautiful legs be proud girl ur very talented much love xoxoxo XD

  • you have really nice body control, point, and turn out =D you rock girl... and id ont think u look like you have a eating disorder

  • Love it.

  • It is so beatiful. I just love it.

  • I really like your dance. Thank you for your uploud, and don`t take non-constructive critics in your lungs. Sorry for my broken english, i`m from europe.

  • Wow, you have gorgeous long limbs! I wish I was built like that!

  • she is not underweight stupid people!!!!!!!!! my cousin( no trying to take away from you beautiful danicing in any way) is like 5'8" and weighs around 130-137 . but she is healthy. she is in the tbt. for those of you who dont know what that is ..it is the texas ballet theater. so she mpves ALOT sso she doesnt keep fat on her and loses all her claeries but is perfectly healthy. so shut up k?

  • magnifique, la robe, les cheveux, magnifique

  • i am in college as a modern dance major, this video was from a long time ago

  • @AriellePetruzzella

Great good fortune with your studies - you dance beautifully and are beautiful. Thank you!

  • ur dancing is great but u should put a little emotion on ur face and in ur dancing

  • i am 16 5'2.5" and only weigh 90. and i am perfectly healthy. some girls are just small. especially dancers. there are a lot of small dancers but it doesnt mean we are unhealthy. and your dancing is very beautiful :) i love it

  • Your dancing is exceptionally graceful and lyrical. Awesome!!

  • beautiful sense of musicality. The choreography was loverly, had great variation.

  • its not chubby girls jelouse of her...she is clearly very underweight

  • i'm actually 5' 7.5'' and weigh 120, which is thin, but perfectly healthy

  • @AriellePetruzzella And you being healthy and doing what you like is what counts the most...:)

  • @AriellePetruzzella i am 5'8" & im 113lbs. so i know how you feel.. i don't have an eating disorder, but it's extremely hard for me to put on weight, especially because i am an athlete & play sports year round

i get very upset when somebody comments on my body or weight, because it's just how my body was built & my mother was the same way so it's not like i have anything to worry about :)

  • Very beautiful. Inspiring.

  • OMG how did you get your leg up so high. 1:21 i can do it on the ground but not in the air?

  • Love this piece. I thought it was truly beautiful. there are not many people who have that kind of natural grace. It really flowed.

  • She is just tall and skinny dats it but I LOVE YOUR DANCING!!!!!

  • she is beautiful and she dances amazingly alittle on the thin side but you know what who cares

  • Beautiful! (and I was just as thin as you as a teen and I could down a large pizza by myself-and keep it down-some ppl are just thin). Keep up the fantastic work!!!

  • Comments on her weight;

i.e. - chubby girls who are jealous.

  • this is so amazing! you are such a fantastic dancer! and i love the music.

keep it up love, your sensational.

  • i liked it

but i agree with some of the other comments, you look a little too thin.

  • some moments of your dancing are amazing.. beautiful..

  • your arms are so long and beautiful!!! <3

  • very beautiful,light n technic.dont listn anyone,u r great in this dance,iwas inspired.thank u

  • some people are just built differently. so just because your not as thin as her DO NOT judge her. okay!

your beautiful & so is the dance. well done!

  • I got scared by how thin she is o.O

  • I think this was absolutley beautiful. You remind me of one of my friends. its is a beautiful piece.

  • She's a bit too thin, no?

Very good dancing, but I agree, more emotion.

  • that was really good but there wasn't enough emotion in it. " dance is the hidden language of the soul " remember that, and put allot of emotion to the dance so the audience believe you like you have a story to tell.

I don't think she is too thin everyone has a different body shape and size. Dance is not abnout body shapes and sizes it's about feeling free and alife.

Keep on dancing and good luck ! ;-)

    sincerely - snowboardgloory :D

  • your too thin, your technique is there but the transitions lack flow and power. Some of the sections are very good but then it feels like your energy level dissipates.

  • Oh, wow! How did you get that version of the song? Did someone there transpose it? I love Nightwish! Kudos. ^__^

  • this is not good at all im sorry czause your not doing much and your costume is a little to big to so of your oves but i think who evre made this coukld have made this alot better nice try though

  • That little kid made noise the entire time. STFU you little bastard!

What is it with parents who bring thier loud little crumb crunchers to these events? They disturb everything! Take them outside! Once ok. Fine. You tell them to be quiet! They do it again? OUT! OUT! The rest of us who have paid to see the performance do NOT want it disrupted by your little bastards because YOU want to stay and see the show. Can't get a babysitter? TSorry! Too bad! Stay at home if your kid is like this!

  • I thought there was a high level of passion. The straight, trained face could symbolize something for someone. Like being pulled around by other people, but still living a monotonous life. Maybe she IS just got a bored look on her face, but for me, it just added to the simple passion in it. (Haha, I sound like a bit of an idiot)

  • It was good technical wise

bu your emotions werent very great

yea doing a modern dance long can become boring..but when ur performing u have to look as happy, sad, mad whatever the emotion is the whole time and u didnt have it..but u really are a great dancer just not great with showing emotions..and i knoe alot of great dancers like that...=]

  • uhhhhhh

  • lovely and fragile like a snowflake...

  • It was beautifull but you need to jump way higher!

  • smh 0_O

  • I love the dance it's self, but it from what I could tell, the facials gave a feeling of boredom. I know it's not easy to see on the film but it took some of the effect away. It needs just a tiny bit more life.

  • didnt put her heart into it,,,at all.

    but good coreography and technique

  • what song is this?

  • Its from the movie "The Snowman".

Its and animated film without any dialogue. I remember watching it in the early 90's when I was kid.

  • i love that movie and saw it when I was little as well! I'm glad someone choreographed to it

  • wow... i totally do not remember watching this video... >.>;

  • the dance was ok but see didnt even seem like she wanted to dance at all her heart wasnt in it and thats what dance is all about
