I think these measures are too extreme for this generation. The Rambam was writing 1000 years ago when people were less damaged and their consitutions were stronger.

The same methods should be used, but not to such extremes.

Today it would be enough for an arrogant person to wear inexpensive clothes that are not in style, for instance.

The Hebrew word for time is z'man. It is numerically equal to the Hebrew word for to understand, which is l'havin.

Understanding grows, but there is no time. The illusion of continuum is an artifact of understanding growing.

As understanding grows, that which we perceive becomes increasingly complex subjectively and we have more to understand and integrate. That too gives the impression of time passing.

One of the words for Torah is Mikra'ot - that which is read. If you look closely at the word you will see the English 'create' in it.

Mikra'ot too is equal to 747, the value of z'man and lehavin (time and to understand).

Time is naught but the increasing understanding of that which is written in Torah.

And that which is written in Torah and that which is written in Torah is Hebrew and "DNA" is the physical manifestion of Hebrew.
