Look, I was a teenager in the 80s and it was shit. I was broke and everyone was shit scared of AIDS. All the girls stunk of hairspray. Interestingly we all wished we grew up in the 60s.
she is a joke. isn't she a joke. she is pretty in the winter. she is many times a bore. isn't she a joke. isn't she a joke. all of the winters and all of the summers and all of the people have been a joke. this worse than happiness. isn't he just a joke. pretty to see a joke die broke and clown dead crying from pain. yeah yeah.
@CallMeGomes I would protest, but I'm just as guilty. SR2 actually showed me quite a few good tunes. When the Saints are rollin, you better be makin' room.
what does torrie bulshit have to do with pretty in pink .Goths where a reaction to violent thick bastards!.Thick violent people are still here pissing in the street. But even the emo bastrds try in there own way.
The 80s was a golden time but like most times it seems better when looking back.
People that did not live through them dont dwell on mass unemployment, yts schemes,Thatcher, glue sniffing, capital punishment in schools,nf skinheads ect.
@sigoog10 It was called corporal punishment not capital punishment as capital punishment is what murders ect get like the death penalty. As for corporal punishiment it was perfectly fine and frankly we should still be pushing it in schools today because it would go a lot further straightening out the shithead self important over entitled brats we have running around today.
I love how the guitar just starts to scorch at 0:43 and at the other beginnings of the chorus, I swear "scorching/burning" are the only words appropriate for that sound.
@shrek740 this sucks niki minaj is way better....... lol joke this is much better than shitty minaj and cher loyde repeating the same lyrics to a crap tune
Love the Furs, and I have a random question for ya'll kids of the 80's. (on my mind because of a discussion earlier tonight) We all remember Doc Martens, we all remember creepers, but for God sakes does anyone remember monkey boots?
@77bogart sorry dont have no clue about monkey boots..and for that most of the 80s .unless it was a brand of cocaine..well it might jog the ol memmory
@77bogart HEY! Im not an 80's kid BUT I KNOW WHAT YOU'Re TALKING ABOUT!! haha xD I am 18 years old and I actually own Creepers/DOc Martens<3 BUT I KNOW WHAT MONKEY BOOTS ARE! My mom always talks about them and says how she used to have some....she wants some I know she does x) That's cool shes always like,"Does anyone remember them?" ahaha x)
Today's music has no dept! No soul! No meaning! Where it's started can't be traced. This is the end of a GREAT TIME in music. PUNK! Long Live this sound!!!!
saw them this tuesday in knoxville tennessee, brilliant show, loved every second, even though my girlfriend and i were some of the youngest people in the crowd.
My biggest dream is to travel back in time to the '80.s. Never before and never again has/will there been/be a decade as awesome and original. The music, tv shows and movies were wonderful, and I am happy to have the memories. It may be 2011 to everyone else, but in my little world, it's 1981, 2, etc... And it's going to stay that way. Pretty In Pink and Psyc Furs....golden memories....
@Bansheeeyes78: You frighten me. Yeah, the 80's did have some great music/movies/t.v./books/etc. but there's plenty of good stuff now, you just have to search a bit more to find it.
@Bansheeeyes78 Climb aboard my time machine. It leaves every day at noon for destinies where music is still music and tunes like this blare from supersized jukeboxes all day long and all you do is listen to them and cruise and party like there's no tomorrow...and that machine ain't fuckin' ever returning....
@Bansheeeyes78 - What time it was... I travel back all the time. This past 2011 summer we got to see the Furs with Tom Tom Club and Devo. We all went back and had the time of our lives.
Damn, after all these years I still get goosebumps when I crank this song up. It's the epitome of what a great rock song should be. Perfect in every aspect.
Im only 13 and boy do I love this song! To be honest I hate the music now a days like Lady gaga I wish I lived in the 80s music was so much better and actually made sense. Im the type of girl who listens to The Smiths,Led zepplin and Queen and im bloody proud!
@TheeRebekahHamilton Well I am proud of you for that as well! Keep digging and you will find a wealth of musical treasures just waiting to be enjoyed and make their way into your heart forever!
for those that think music today sucks, yes most of it does but at the same time there are some greats out there and 2 decades from now ppl will say they were great
@BlueElmoOO yah but thats because 2 decades from now WE will be the adults and the next gen. of kids will have there fave music and WE will think it sucks and so on and so on.....
ate chinese food and stole glances at one of the most pretty girls my country of trinidad and tobago has to offer...now that makes this song worth a listen right? it's no breakfast club but still...right?
Wish I was around when this band were around.Love this guys voice and the rawness to the songs. Most of the modern 'musicians' can hardly string a sentence together let alone sing a song....... Think they must give them peanut butter to chew on before they sing on stage, that's how they lip sync just right.
haunted by this song. something must have gone down the first time aound and its drawing me back to remember something that wants to be remembered. It just so lyrical, the words fall from the artist''s lips like something that's got to be heard and got to be said, and there's a mirage of a meaning that makes me want to follow, after all this time.
Loaded with sex appeal, loaded with angst, so poetic and an accomplish soundtrack, what more do you want?
