i guess your tabla needs a repairing. the sond is very flat for the dugga. untie the kundal and tighten the straps more. if it is too loose, then i recommend you to insert the gattas for the dugga. well try to practise jhap taal, rupak taal or maybe even chautaal. it's not something about the taals, kaidas, paltas, tihais but it is the way you practise. anyway nice playing. try to get another tabla. keep it up!
if you want to get really good, when you do riyaz just practise 1 thing. for example pick a kaida and practise the theme 2 hours a day at slow and medium tempo for 2 weeks, focus on clarity of sound and play with a heavy hand. then start adding palta. do this for 1 month for every kaida.
try: dha dhin dhin dha dha dhin dhin dha na tin tin na tete dhin dhin na
BEST TABLA TAAL ACCORDING TO FIDAH KHAN PLAYS WITH ZAKIR HUSSAIN LOOK AT THE ALLAH RAKHA TRIBUTE CONCERT HES PLAYING THE HARMONIUM (SPELLING IS SHIITE)
Just some helpful instruction, Try tilting your Bayan (base side) away from you. In this video it's pointed towards you which makes you play slower and the base sound doesn't come out as well. Second move your tabla a little closer to each other. Third, your hands play too soft. Try practicing harder or on a low pitched Tabla so you can play harder.
uhhh you can buy a decent starter tabla online for maybe 90 bucks to start you off, and you might be able to find a good local teacher, it depends where u live
lol my mistake, ididn't listen to the whole video, but kaida's don't necessarily have to end of with thun na ke na or dhi na ghe na. I guess it would depend on how complicated the kaida's are.
hehe, youre right.. i guess kaidas ends always with thun na ke na or dhi ge na after the talli or kalli, my whole kaidas i learned from my guruji ends with that boles.. bye :)
Well I think you play good, but your playing needs alot of work. It sounds a little bit sloppy on many occasions, but be patient and work hard at it and you will be playing clearly and pleasantly:)
chickend out? look, im 14 years old and i already came to a realization that you havent, tabla is an art and a lifestyle for me, its a religious activty and i will not compete for my own personal gain using my skill, so you can fucking SHOVE IT
yeah i have tried, but my teacher never taught me how and i am afraid i will somehow make them worse. also the quality of my tablas is poor as you have probably noticed. it gives out a grainy/wavy sort of noise and is not very clear.
Well dude first of all don't be afraid. If you have the tuning hammer, just keep hittin the wooden tuning things on the smaller tabla down and keep hittin NA on the tabla and stop when it sounds crisp. It won't get worse.

Hey, I would like to learn tabla but wondering, how and where do you take lessons? What should I start out with learning and buying the drums?
Someone help me out!
