I have all tge characters and you get them not by doing mission mode but in the single player battle with each character in the end of the battles you might get to fight a.new character if you beat them you get the character and yes itachi is the best in the game

If you can cancel well enough, Naruto, Itachi, Neji, Lee, Kakashi, Sasuke, and Shikamaru are the most dangerous characters in the game. (there are others who can cancel combo well but i haven't found them yet)

Naruto is actually a really great character in this game. The person/NPC just isn't very good. Judging by watching Itachi if I were playing Naruto I think I would have had a fairly good chance at winning. Maybe not, but a very good chance at least, especially by activating Ninetails Naruto. Great vid though. ^^ Pretty high quality too.

You have to do a lot to get Itachi.

this is what you need to do

1)beat the first 19 missions ( inculideing 13.5 obtained after beating 1-19)

2)beat 1 player mode lee

3)beat 1 player mode negi even if u had both these beat it dont matter apaertnly u must do them both agian =[

4)do mission 20 which was unlocked form the 1 play matches. and once beat it unlocks mission 21 then after that u get 22 then fianlly 23

5)after beating 23 u quit mission select and itachi along with a few other things will be unlocked

I think u can get him doing single player with Sasuke. If u don't get him there u can get him by doing a mission in story mode where Sasuke and Itachi have a "rematch."
