This "SSC" will set you back $654k... If you ask me, its not worth it. To be honest the Bugatti (although I like it) isn't worth it either. Not when you can send your Lamborghini Gallardo in to Underground Racing and have it turbocharged to 1500 whp all for less then $400k.
but, the aero is now around $450K now and has improvments.
if i wanted a performace car i would go for GT Malan.
its got 600HP, 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, it performs far more that what we could even handle and it costs less than 100K, its custom built and amazing quality.
definitly the choice of car i would go for, that or a ACR viper, thoes set a nasty ass fast lap time on the nurburgring faster than any ferrari or lambo at 90K :P

Basicly, you do 200 MPH on the bank and then accelerate out, into the 6 mile straight, this did it on 3 miles. But the point is the Veyron could do more and VW could squeeze out way more from that engine but they would sacrifice reliability + its very easy to drive, SSC is just about speed, Veyron is luxury speed ;)

You see that's the thing with the Aero everybody knows it's faster than the Guinness World Record because the car was still climbing before it ran out of road. 270ish is what it's top end is estimated to be so when you say the SuperSport just posted a new record it don't mean shit unless the Ultimate Aero runs on the same road.

Do you honestly believe hes going to trust in Guinness? If hes smart he will have more sense than that & acknowledge the fact that there is a very good likeliness he could loose. So it's really not in SSCs best interest to take the record back. let the Bugatti Keep it because when moneys on the line id rather own the sleeper.

@heartboy86 well you need a banked slope leading into a long straight, there is nothing really in the world which you could close of and use it in a similar way to the VW test track. Basicly, you do 200 MPH on the bank and then accelerate out, into the 6 mile straight, this did it on 3 miles. But the point is the Veyron could do more and VW could squeeze out way more from that engine but they would sacrifice reliability + its very easy to drive, SSC is just about speed, Veyron is luxury speed ;)

MY POINT was just about what is the fastest production car NOW. The PRESENT. Also to all those saying that the Aero wasn't given a fair trial in comparison to that of the Veyron, it's down to SSC to prove their own point. Was a secret project that happened about 15 minutes from where I grew up, and I didn't know about it til much later (like everyone else). It seems that foreign cars are always thought to be better, so I like that an American car (like the Ford GT did years ago) has been able to compete with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti, etc. I bet the SSC Aero is a much better car than you'd think, although it most surely doesn't have all the electronic bs the Veyron has.

Yes, the veyron is faster 0-60, then when side by side the veyron will only be a couple feet ahead at 60mph... not worth paying hundreds of thousands more for a foot or two.

it really comes down to preference. I prefer the aero because
1. american made, american engine, american pride
2. might not be quite as luxurious, but i dont wear suits every day and eat 100$ meals, so im not that luxurious of a person
3. at the end of the day i can always say "YOU PAID HOW MUCH MORE THAN ME FOR A SLOWER CAR?!"

That was their goal, to make a car with a luxurious ride that also was the fastest production car. Who cares about the SSC and its speed as a comparison. They are 2 totally different cars.
