dude my buddies and i do this in my woods with 1950s and 60s tractors a wheel horse and an IH cub cadet. they are mud machines. we smoke and go up mud 4ft high hills after a rain storm

I've been seeing so many videos with tractors off road, are these the modern day quad? Why are so many people choosing these? I'm buying one for 100.00 and taking off the deck. Are these almost as good as a quad minus the speed?
yeah basically you want a bigger pulley on the engine shaft, and a smaller one on the back.
I'f your using it where it will go under water alot, the i'd suggest trying to get as bigger pulley on the front as possible, and then a large (ish) one on the back, but obviously smaller than the front. With the added surface area to for belts to grip on you should get lesss belt slippage under water (:
I built a racing mower from scratch and I got it to go 20, then after months of sitting I put in a new head gasket and fired it up. Did some carb work and tweaked some things and got it to 40. Then I got pulled over by the cops :( I had to sell it.
Quads are costly and if they break it cost alot, If one of these breaks they are easy to fix or replace, to just cruise around the trails they are funm and dependable.

i got an 86 snapper lt16 and i take it thru the woods all the time. definately a fun thing to do if ur too poor to buy a quad.

I own 2 quads a dune buggy a street bike but I all ways play with the tractors most! They are fun cheap to run and will take a beating!

if you strengthen them a bit, and add better tyres you should be good to go. You can even gear them up to reach speeds of 35+ (: good luck

how do I gear it to reach those speeds? Should I change the pulley coming off the engine with the drive belt to a bigger diameter?
