rainbowhiker: Thanks for the comments. The best thing about tarps is their versatility, and they weigh next to nothing if you go cuben. Yes, I'll have a few more videos to make to cover the rest of this trip. I'm also going to do a series on my hike of the GR20 in Corsica in 2010, and a couple of other trips I've done. Cheers.
@HamishMackenzie7 I do know about Cuben tarps. Know some guys that bought 'em. Way out of my price range though, but I can appreciate them. My tarps are a bit different and way cheaper but they work well. Looking forward to your future and past trips. Any plans to do the PCT? It doesn't have to take five to six months, as most people spend doing it. I did mine in 97 days. Resupply in towns, don't stay in 'em more 'an two hours. That's how I did it.
@rainbowhiker I'd like to do the PCT. I'm considering a work release - maybe 2017? Not sure if I could knock it off as fast as you. My knees need the zero days.
@HamishMackenzie7 I couldn't duplicate those days either, not now. I'm getting pretty 'long in the tooth' these days and have my own set of old-man problems to deal with. My life out in the woods, hiking, climbing, and on the slopes is catching up to me. Still, I'd love to redo the PCT. It's probably one of the best experiences I've ever had :0) See ya.
Now that, my friend, is a very nice set up. I do like it without reservation. You know, if I had the money, I just might try one of those tarps. They really seem comfy and roomy enough. Thats all you need, right? Just enough. Thanks. I'll try to catch your other videos, too. Are you gonna make some new ones?
Love that tarp setup. I'm passing it on to my friend intensangler and others. Gotta check out the rest of your trip!
