awesome vid !!!! i have a nintendo NES..... ever played masterblaster ? its very gd game i think but soo freaking hard haha never got passed the first boss ever might try to complete soon ... hope my NES still works after 4 years huh? lol
Ahh yes the heart of Zeon! Buddy I kid you not the first time I beat the game/Zenon thanks to the code I played for several hours don't exactly remember how many it was but for nearly 5 hours afterwards the 2nd fingure on my left hand would not staten it stayed bent. It was so painful I thought I had broken it before it finally did go back to normal. Dude where was your ad on this one? I always click them for ya but it didn't pop up. Don't tell me the bs copyright clams got your partnership...
No idea, I'm still a partner. I guess this one might still be in a queue for "review" or something. The ads don't always show up right away. I think they randomly select vids to review for content, which can take a while sometimes.
Hmm. I always thaught that the game was called salamander because you're supposed to be flying INSIDE a salamande :P Yeah... I know... an odd idea indeed. Not sure why I assumed that to be the origin of it, because you clearly fly out from some kind of planet in the end (as I've seen myself when finnishing the game)... hm... and it is odd that the boss at the end is so easy in comparison to some of the others.
hmmm the end big guy in this level looks quite a bit like the final part of SWIV on the Amiga but SWIV came 3 years after Lifeforce so i am NOT trying to say this idea was stolen from this game and that game..etc.. it just looks similar :)
a great vid mate love it : ) and loved this whole lifeforce thing would love to see more of this stuff , hell why not show some of those ps2 gmaes yo have :P
Yep, there will be some SEGA episodes at some point. I haven't got to that era of my footage yet, so I don't remember how MUCH I have on tape, but I know there's a few.
About the "happy" music that can be found after battles in various animes, as you mentioned. I think it has something to do with "celebrating the victory over evil".
This looks incredibly difficult for a final level in a Gradius game! The last Boss however, lived up to the easy gradius finale standard. the last boss in a few of the gradius games don't even attack you!
No no no, the commentary IS me now. I added that specifically for these videos (which I mentioned back in Part 1). Everything else is either from 1991 or 2002.
Actualy Xenon 2 is related to a completly different game to this. Its just coincidence the last level used the same name as the game Xenon. It was made my the Bitmap Brothers long long time ago.
This particular game was originally called "Salamander" when it was released in Japan (and some of the re-releases) and it is a spin-off of the Gradius series.
Oh crap...I just checked that part. Looks like I had the sound from the end "sting" duplicated there. That kind of thing happens when I'm editing 6 different things at a time...oops!
Great game!! I Amazing rush of Nostalgia here. Thanks for the upload!
However, I do have one critique: You are the worst player of Life Force i've EVER seen. Wow! :P

@harmonic42 Easy to be lazy when you're using the Konami code. ;)

I remember you said that you owned a SEGA Genesis with a SEGA CD.
Will the MMC Retro have any SEGA Episodes?

5:51 the sound effect sounds eerily familiar...from your opening sequence sound effect.
swissmrkc 2 years ago
Coincidence. I deliberately picked some "NES-like" sounds for the title music to give it more of a nice old school feel.
