  • 400hp is not possible on a stock tc without race gas, e85, or meth

  • 18 psi on stock internals that would be alittle nervous about that

  • holy shit is all i can say. that is beast. i cant imagine a stock engine lasting very long with that much boost. and @sigrafix you can have both - twincharging. very expensive but so badass. i have seen a twincharged tc for sale for $23k

  • there is no way you can run 17-18psi on the stock toyota engine in it. No Way that is possible. 9 tops without it being built.

  • lol its why the engine blew up...the dude was an idiot, i know that the tc has to at least have forged internals after at least 10-13psi...now for 17-18 you need some new piston heads and rods and maybe some other stufff...lol but im no mechanic.....and the stupid company went out of business for stealing and lying.

  • my cousin is in the process of building his engine with new heads, lower end, all forged internals etc.

    hes gonna be turboing his and hes shooting for close to 17psi but he really wants to be at 20. hes just too scared to hurt the engine after building it up. does anyone know any custom intake manifolds for tc's or someone that fabricates them???

  • 9 out of 10 tC's run 10 - 13psi daily on stock motors. I run 12 - 12.5 now. Started with 7-8 PSI, ran that for about 6 months, ran 10 PSI for about a year and a half, and now on 12-12.5. This car in the video is on 103 octane, which would explain why it's pushin 17-18lbs of boost. It blew yes, but not after some abuse at the drag strip. Also true that the company sucked and was stealing peoples money.

  • tC motor laughs at 9 PSI. It will take 350-400whp before thinking of reaching it's limits. Which that's more around the 15 PSI mark. I'm pushing 12-12.5 now. 9 out of 10 tC's are pushing 10+ PSI.

  • ????...how is that possible......on a stock motor for daily drivers to be running 10+ psi ??? i mean i no its a toyota motor but, what if the connecting rod breaks becuz some people abuse their engines and the rod breaks and blows a hole though the side of their block....dont get me wrong im not back talking lol just askin =]]]

  • What do you mean how is that possible. Boosted tC owners have been doing it for Years already, including me. The 2az in the tC will hold 350-400whp before needing upgrades. I race my tC constantly, you can tell my the 30+ videos on my youtube profile. It can take abuse. The people who blew their motor, had a shitty tune on it most likely. tC will cough at 10 PSI. That's nothing to that motor. 10 PSI is 300whp easily.

  • To Lean = KaBOOM! To rich = Weak power. Lack of timing adjustments, etc.. To much boost and not enough fuel/timing adjusted..etc. All this can cause motors to fail whether it's built or not.

  • yea i believe you know about that. i was just playing it safe and thought 9psi was the limit for tc's on stock internals. i watched your quick runs vid and your tc can fly, no lie. i give you props for that

  • Sorry man.  Totally missed it. But yeah, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for immediately. You can get a good I/H/E setup to add power, and perhaps a couple left over for some springs. Or if you are into taking corners then a good suspension setup can be had with that $1500.

  • you can't have a turbo and a supercharger...

    when you buy a Scion Tc, you can get a TRD Supercharger which won't void your warranty, so if you wan't security, piece of mind, and decent performance, go with the TRD supercharger.. but if you're rolling in dough and want serious performance, Turbo is the way to go.. plus a BOV sounds really cool.. :D

  • yeah what you say is very true. but dont forget, the trd supercharger is about 3000 just for a 25% boost. and thats pretty much a rip off.

  • truthfully you can have both. People have done it, but it is a waste of money they fight each other and it is a tuning nightmare. I agree turbo is the way to go even though you can put a BOV of the trd s/c

  • @Sigrafix Actually, technically speaking.... you could have a turbo charger AND a super charger since they both work on two aspects of the air flow system. The Supercharger (vortech/TRD) works on the intake/pulley system, ie: no lag, because airflow is shoved into the intake via the pulley system. A turbo charger works on the exhaust side, where spent exhaust air drives the turbine. The biggest obstacle is finding a CPU and fuel management system to handle such a thing!
