  • @mediabench That is like Picaso telling Van Gogh.."You are holding your brush wrong..." Van Gogh would be like.."look here, buddy, you stick to painting your geometric shapes, and I will keep on doing my thang...." Or maybe Victor Wooten telling Flea "Your funk technique is off bro, you need to slow it down, and get a better right hand technique..." Flea says "Suck my Kiss!"

  • i started playing 3 days a go i playing the most time possible but i have a tiny problem every time i it a note the string hits the metal parts " the ones thar ate on the side of the dots" it makes a damm bad noise . is it any way to make it stop i'm hiting paralel to the bord but it stil it the things...::S need some help

  • i have that same problem...i am wondering how i can fix it too, and i have had my bas for a while now.....

  • try hitting closer to the botom of the frets,,, for example, if you hit the first fret, try to hit as close to the second fret as possible without actually hitting it. (by the way im gesussing the metal parts are the frets)

  • yeah..and this too....^^

  • u have to get used to it...i used to play guitar and when i started bass i heard these noises too....i didn't like them..but now i can't imagine my bass without a bit of these sounds..:P (also it depends on the wuality of the bass...mine is kinda cheap...)

  • I mean what i meant is the part that starts at 2:53 till 2:56 coul u tab that for me?? :D

    Cya

  • Ohhhh, that part! I was just messing around! Time is not on my side at the moment, my friend, but if you join my forums (link on the right), and ask a dude called Garth, he may well do it for you! He's been tabbing my stuff lately, and is a good guy!

  • Dude sounds great 5* (as always!) but can you please tell me how to play that last part u play it too fast to see :P i thinks it sounds awesome so can u please tab it or make a video how to play that? it rocks!!

  • Hello, Kat. Check the box on the right. Under the "Important" bit, there is a link that will take you to the tab! Enjoy! :D

  • I've been playing for about 3-4 weeks and I can play thing rhythm at about 3/4 speed. So I'm really happy :) Thanks man I love your tutorials. Any tips on how to move my fingers faster though? (I'm a drummer) Or does it just come with time?

  • Thank you so much for putting these videos up really for spending time and beeing so great! you're and awesome teacher! THANKS!!

  • hey can i know what bass your using?

  • That be a musicman :)

  • nice man! i've been struggling to learn for about a year now..having major issues! ur slow motion vids help alot! thanks!

  • Nice one, but could u make harder fringer funk exercise? This is great for a beginners, but I'm looking for more advanced stuff.

  • Definatly. The plan is to move up to Rocco-esque style 16ths. I want to slowly move to that standard, though. :)

  • Nice! THX man I can't w8 :D

  • hey what kind of strings are you using?

  • Ernie balls :)

  • yeah im still not that good but i can do this slow nowand plan on doin it over and over till i can do it normal for you thanks

  • slowing down the audioclip is just baaad lol.

  • Dman do u play in a band? Does it have any youtube vids or something???

  • i know that he used to play in bands called Hot Butterd Muffin and Liquid Fool

theres loads of stuff on youtube just search it

  • great job D man! Ive gotta tell ya, some days i just dont feel like practicing my bass but then i watch a couple of your youtubes and Im playin ;-)

  • nicccccce!

    5 stars

  • I see you got your hat back man

    Did it have fun? lol

This is a great little excersice, im not to sure about it being intermediate either, but you would know better then me

  • sweet i was lokking for a new finger excercise cheers D man! =)

  • thanks a whole lot this is really fun to play

  • It might just be my ears but do I spie a little bit of queen in there?

  • if you ever get bored of the musicman you know where to send it kris :p

nice lesson, i was working on a bit of finger funk earlier, might have to steal one of the licks here Xd

  • hm.. i did this in a matter of minutes and i took extra care of that open D just like u said... i dont get why its intermediate :P i've been playing for like 3 months so maybe im advanced beginner atmost.. by the way. GREAT EXCERCISE MAN!! i never was this comfortable when leaving the E and the A strings.. D is fine to an extent but Finger playing the G kills me :P. Thanks for this excercise ^^

  • Ha Ha, well it's a simple riff to play, but not so simple to perfect. I mean, every note tight, in time, and crisp. Consistantly, bar after bar....:)

  • Yea i guess ur right. Maybe i should record and listen to myself cause being Critical to yourself is weird... i mean u cant actually judge urself like others.. So i might be messing up in a way that i dont notice? yea probably :P

  • Yea, see, that's where real teaching wins over internet teaching. A proper teacher would be able to give you advice as you were learning. I can only so much...:(

  • No teacher could do more than what ur doing right here... Pleeease dont ever stop and thank you ^^ And those excercises are brilliant :P to think that u keep coming up with new ones is awesome! Peace dude ^^

  • Nice one dude

  • cool excercise

  • oomg! and a finger funk exercise! great! good job, keep it up. ;)

  • nice job!
