  • @silentdan23 Ford racing b-springs

  • How long did the swap take?

  • @kevincolvin

3 weekends we started the first weekend of the new year it was cold out and the following two to finish it up. but if you do it when its warm out a weekend is all you need.

  • wasntt easier to pull the engine, then do all the work?

  • @jackass2286

    No it wouldnt.

  • @RARENOTCH thats what ill be doing but ill be pulling my engine completely out because im going to replace my oil pan too. wish i would be able to do H/C/I all at the same time but right now im just going for some aluminum heads.

  • @jackass2286 NONONONONONO. Only pull the engine if you're replacing the shortblock.

  • NICE!!! You just made me want to do the same! I love the look of the GT-40 intake! I was looking into the TFS 1 cam. They seem to have decent lower range and not create piston clearance issues! Keep the vids coming!

  • Thanks. I love the gt40 intake to. i found a New Old Stock one so i didnt want to put a used one on a 15000 mile car. so i bought it. yes the stage 1 cam has no problems with piston to valve clearance.

i will once its nice out.

  • I have a chance to buy a upper and lower gt40 intake will the stock throttle body fit on it.

  • Yes a stock throttlebody will fit.

  • im doing pretty much the same, but im pulling the whole thing to clean everything up

new bearings, gaskets, shift kit, stall, etc.

    nice job man looks great

  • quick question with that gt40 intake. What lower do you use? Is the lower different when comparing the tubular v. the explorer intake?

  • It is the same lower as the explorer and the 93 cobra to.

  • dont you have to like rebuild the bottom end when you put new aluminum head on it? i heard your motor wouldnt last long if you didnt do work on the bottom end when changing to new aluminum heads

  • Not if it is good shape.

  • No you dont need to rebuild the short block. plus my car only has 15.000 miles on it.

  • sweet video, thank's for posting!

    hope to see more :)

  • haha that hammer u got in between the heads i got the same one haha =)

  • looks and sounds great! I am going with the same setup. i have the gt-40 intake and heads. Trick flow stage 1 cam.

i am in the middle of the rebuild now.

  • Thanks man.I found a NOS gt-40 intake for mine. I love the look of it ever since i

seen it. I waas going to use gt-40p heads

but i sold them and bought trickflows instead. My notch only has 14000 miles on it so i wanted to keep it looking stock.

It is a no option car. it has the motor and a AM/FM cassette. Thanks again for the comment. post yours up when you get it

    running.

  • Thanks man. cant wait till spring now.
