  • another great Canadian tune!!!!!

  • Great band! Terrible recording!

  • D su disco d 1990 THE PLEASURE AND THE PAIN

The Montreal music scene during the early '80's was vibrant, bursting with the energy of some of the country's hottest new sounds. Jean Marc Pisapia was playing with Men Without Hats when in '81, ...musical differences with the Doroschuk brothers led to him leaving after only a few months, just prior to the Hatless ones getting their big break. He was at home in Montreal writing some

  • I love these guys. Great band.

  • Any other Winnipeggers here? These guys are played 24/7 on BOBFM, love it.

  • Fantastic song! Timeless! This entire album is great.

Is there any videoclip for Inside My Heart?

  • I used to love the little 1/16th notes he tosses in on the kick drum at 2:24. It's stuff like that you just dont hear nowadays. Tasty tricks.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I have been looking for videos for these songs for a loooong time. Like many Canadian acts they were a big part of the college indie scene in the US. I am looking for a video for Shine Blue Lady if they did one. For those who haven't looked "The Pleasure & The Pain" is available on iTunes now with 2 tracks not on the US release CD. :)

  • Absolutely a great band... only thing I don't like is how hard it is to find their music. Go ahead and go into a cd store and see if the cashier knows who the Box is haha. They should make a greatest hits cd.

  • great band jean marc is very creative sat in a bar in ontario toronto to be exact and met a producer who helped out on a couple of there albums while listening to the spoons Romamtic Traffic

  • what song by this group is about a dude who hacks up his wife with an axe? a recurring line in the chorus is "walking, walking on a tightrope of insanity"?

  • @PACMAN12RIDER L'Affaire Dumoutier(Say To Me)

  • I saw The Box live at a Canada Day concert around the time this c.d was out in Ottawa at Landsdowne Park. Their set was awesome and the sound was spectacular!!! They were awesome to see live!!!

  • That sounds like the concert that I was at there, as well. Five bands, including Kim Mitchell and Colin James, going from noon to about 8 PM. It was a blast ! Theres a short clip from that show in Kim's video I Am A Wild Party.

  • Great song! Kind of like INXS back in the day!

  • good Montreal bandddd :) Salutee!!!!!

  • I thought this tune was lost forever. Hadn't heard it since it's release 20 years ago (?)Always liked the harmonies. Thanks a lot!

  • Some good Canadian bands actually didn't get airplay outside of the country. A while ago it took me ages to find the song Temptation. I remember the video played a lot on TV in the early 90s, but it must've been National TV stations.

  • ya man do it again,,,,,,,,,tap those Muses !

  • great canadian band from quebec they deserved more air play

  • excellent. thanks for the post. lot of memories :)

  • Never heard this song before but it sounds excellent! Sounds like a bluesier, more edgy New England (Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya).

  • Back in the 80's, I saw The box in concert a bunch of times. They used to play the festivals around the area where I grew up in Quebec (Lac-St-Jean). It was always a great show, Jean-Marc P. is an excellent frontman. I think that pop rock bands like The box, had a bit more substances than the ones that are popular these days.

Also, I remember seeing them twice with the same great back vocalists, one blonde who's name was Sylvie Daviau and a gorgeous brunnette who's name I forgot.. :)

  • @frankybadboy : The 2 back vocalists were Sass Jordan and Marie Carmen ;)

  • the entire box catalogue is now on itunes except for a lucky find at a pawnshop for the closer together album it's the only place i found that has all their albums

  • another beauty tune kurdst. the box were another fine Canadian act. not a whole lot of filler on the closer album. oh btw, as per a prior request, i made a video for Rik Emmett's big lie.

  • i cant find this song on limewire and it is pissing me off because this might be the greatest song i've ever heard

  • Got it on frostwire...now...lol

  • love this song, brings back all my fondest memories of partying on george street in St. John's newfoundland back in the late 80's

  • Jeez, now that I see this again, it's mind-boggling how he sounds like the singer from Theory of a Deadman

  • Meet a great girl for a quickie at DAYFLING dot COM

  • theboxband dot com

  • NICE JOB! This song is impossible to find for download, much less CD. Even the lyrics are non-existant here on the internet.

  • any luck finding this song to download? let me know what site! great song!need to burn it to cd1 please help?

  • Do you have "Cying Out Loud for Love" also by The Box... Please drop me a message if you do... It is a great song... The Box rocked...

  • done! Crying out loud for love, go and search under my name ( cyberhat )

  • CLASSIC!! Dose anyone know were I could find the music video for "Live On T.V" by: "The Box"? I saw it on Much Retro a month or so ago. :)

    3 J's

  • A long time since i heard this one. even sounds better today -

  • i can't believe i am watching this video! OMG! Such memories! I love this band. I couldn't find their videos anywhere! Thanks.

  • Good band, good song, and good video. I like the blonde dancer, she's beautiful and gracious.

I'd like also to see "Crying out loud for love", if you have it -- as it seems you have a great collection.

Cheers, and thanks a lot for the memories!
