  • I hope anyone who has no knowledge of Grindhouse joints doesn't plan to remake this one as an R rated one.

  • next year comes world of the dead

  • I do I go about being a certified adult guardian?

  • I remember this commercial when I was a little kid!

  • Wonder where's the City of the Walking Dead(Nightmare City) tv spot? Back in 07,

they had it on here and shortly got ride of it, wonder why?

  • When they said "No person will be allowed in the theatre under the age of 17 unless accompanied by a certified adult guardian" I was kind of suspecting someone to nudge and wink at the camera. Brilliant marketing, you can tell from the announcer's voice they just KNOW, teenagers are gonna be sneaking into the theatre because of this.

  • So bad it's good! i liked this one for ages since i was 15 when i rented it on video and one of the most comical zombie movies this side of Return of the Living Dead, Dead Alive, Zombieland, Evil Dead 2, Re-Animator or Shaun of the Dead. Shocking? you mean laughable, this is a good parody of Dawn of the Dead

  • a classic but still kicking ass

  • if half the movie did not consist of a chick naked in the jungle, it would have been great. as it stands, it was just pretty good.

  • this the one were there in africa or south america?

  • I saw this when i was 13 at the BelAir Drive-in in Fontana,California in a double feature with the infinitely better "The Power". Man,this movie sucked hard.

  • Isn't keeping out all persons under 17 without parent or guardian standard for all "R" rated films, though, from "Day of the Dead" to "Prizzi's Honor"?

  • Accually, this is the tV spot for the Joel M. Reed film, "Night of the Zombies," not the Bruno Mattei one.

  • @Laughtraxx - No, this is indeed the Bruno Mattei film.

  • I love this movie and all of it's cheesiness! The rat, the oldlady with the cats in her gut, classic and original moments that I have not seen in any zombie flick. Plus a nutcase in a tu-tu getting eaten alive? A B-movie lover can't go wrong with a gem like this!

  • I like this movie. 

  • I like this movie.

  • I love gore movies, but this was a terrible movie. I liked the lead actress taking off her top though.

  • @StuntmanJackR WERD. That actress was hot. The rest of the film was horrible, with the Nat-Geo footage to try to simulate the jungle. And how the hell did these guys get from Italy to New Guinea?

However, the dead rat attacking the guy was pretty cool in the beginning, and the dead old lady with the cat jumping out of her body was pretty messed up. Still for all it's "worth": the film graces my collection as an oddity, and what an oddity.

  • Nice blood red color!!! GO ZOMBIES!!!

  • Ha, that's awesome.

  • @slave2moonlight

A so bad it's good zombie comedy that is unintentionally funny.

  • @Johnlindsey289 just don't go looking for a plot here .

One of my favourites too ,a bad bad movie indeed .

  • Shocking? are you kiddin', this was laughable stuff.

  • Damn thats koo. wish I was born during that time to see this Italian zombie flick at tha drive-in when it was new. Sure missed out.

  • Well Idid'nt see it in any theater either. I've only seen it on home video.

  • I remember watching this at a Drive in as a kid, love it

  • There was also a pretty good scene in this flick where a girl aproaches a man from behinde and asks "Excuse me mister...." and he then turns toward her to reveal that half his face is gone ( having been evidently eaten away ). So yeah, this movie did have its share of good creepy and shocking scenes ( as did most of these Italian horror flicks of this erea ) and that was basicaly what people went to see this flick, and others like it, out of interest in.

  • And verifor below, Im wondering, just WHAT specificaly do you tend to like in a zombie movie anyway,...if your such a fan of them yet dont like any of THIS kinde?

  • Grr... I'm sorry. I have seen my share of Italian zombie movies, from the premise that its going to be good. Being a zombie fan I actually go out and bought these damned things (this was before the internet kids). Then I come to find out that they sucked. I haven't seen 1 good zombie movie from Italy. Sorry.

  • then youve never seen Zombi 2....

  • I have Zombi 2. But, the title that I have is "Island of the Living Dead". I got this when I did a tour in London. Although it has gore-a-plenty, it doesnt have a good story / writing / director (how many headshots does it take for them to realize that that is the only way to kill them?), actors, and an overall sense of scary entertainment. Its just a bunch of maniacal cannibals in zombie costumes. A rip off of "the Hills Have Eyes"

BTW I love "The Hills Have Eyes". But, its not a zombie movie.

  • Well THIS flick actualy WAS pretty gross! Like, theres one particularly nasty scene in wich a naked native woman is picking maggots out of a rotted corpse and eating them. This flick was Italian made, and THEY usualy deliverd with the gross stuff.

  • Somehow it has always been in the Italian blood to make the best horror.

It aways reminds me of this old Italian book INFERNO by Dante Alighieri written as far back as 1320, this was the first horror book and it definately seems a generational thing.

  • The DVD is released under the title "Hell Of The Living Dead."

The footage of the natives was actual documentary footage and the one with the maggots was one of them.

This film is perhaps the most shameless post "Dawn Of The Dead" bandwagon films, and the cheapest ever made.

It even lifts dialogue from Night Of The Living Dead and the music from Dawn Of The Dead.

Amen on the Italians and the gross stuff-look at Lucio Fulci.

  • Which really means . . .

"We want your allowance money, kids! We want you to go to the nearest multi-screen movie theater and buy a ticket for a G or PG movie, and then sneak into this one." I love it! I remember slews of movies being advertised as TOO SHOCKING FOR THOSE UNDER 17, and I fell for it every damn time. Those were the days.

  • Hell of the Living Dead is so bad it's good.

  • Can't be any worse than that midget who played the little kid in Andrea Bianchi's "Burial Ground" ;) Now THERE was an interesting movie.

And I'll give NOTZ credit for the scene where the chick goes half naked with tribal paint all over her to get into the native village, hehe ;)

  • I honestly don't understand all the hate for this movie. I think its one of the most entertaining zombie flicks I've ever seen.

  • I used to have a dub of this on vhs and it was way dark. The dvd is nice and you cxan actually see whats going on.

  • Well maybe not Night of the Zombies,

at least they should do a new two disc edition, to feature the US theatrical trailer,

this tv spot on here on Youtube and the US

theatrical opening title like they did with Anthropophagus on the two disc edition.

  • hell yea this is the way i know this movie still have the VHS!!!

  • Thats just an idea.

  • A new two disc edition of Hell of the Living

Dead/Night of the Zombies with both titled

    versions together from Blue Underground.

  • That movie is awesome.
