While both are fantastic musicians, but I'm not sure if Lou Reid adds anything to this particular song. I'm not knocking or discrediting Lou Reid , I'm quite a fan, but Imelda May worth this song for her husband, so personally I prefer the solo version!
lou reid is such an amazing contrast , his deep and rasping voice and the memory of all those epic songs , omg your pale blue eyes, epic, then there is the sweetness of imelda mays voice , the combination of the beauty and softness of the feminine voice versus the strength and depth of the male voice, it really brings out the essence of the song.
I do not know of this guy's work I was merely commenting on this particular collaboration of Imelda's and I still say she has done herself no favours in this duet
@CyrilSnype What are you on about! Lou Reed's incredible! Not amazing in this song I'll admit, but back when he was amazing! The Velvet Underground are class!
Thanks so much for posting this - I'd been hoping to find it some time :-) I'm no huge Lou Reed fan, but I understand the contribution that he has made to modern music and I think that despite his lack of technical expertise (vocally speaking) in comparison with someone as vocally accomplished with Imelda, he does bring something to this version: a sort of fragility, which is kind of beautiful to hear :-) I like this version much more than I expected to like it :-)
DavidHallermusic - how am I a creep. This is my own personal view & I'm not the only one to make similar comments. Suggest you shut up and get back under that stone where you've just crawled from. Dickhead
lou reed is great but he brings nothing to this song imelda does it 100% better solo sorry to lou fans and of course just my opinion

@louisjnr I agree completely about the respect and the Solo. My thoughts also.

Nice duet, but Imelda singing it on her own sounds 100x better imho.

@CyrilSnype nope you're wrong. This duet works fine and Lou Reed has never been rubbish, mind you (I wonder why I react on this crap comment?).

This is so bad to have him sing along with her. Sounds a lot better on her own.

@Mr3wbc You're such a Creep. Lou Reed is one of the best musicians in the world nd Imelda is very lucky to can sing with him, so shut up.

she sings the song way better on her own
