  • I love Hitchens as much as I love Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. Which is ALOT.

  • What's the track in the begining of the video?

  • Hitchens, a legend.

  • George=Mr Cool

  • It was weird seeing the same interviewer interview Chris Hedges, who basically says Hitchens and Harris are filthy racists.

  • You will be missed by many!

  • i like what he has to say about religions, but not about the u.s. raping defenseless countries.

  • @smellyfooty i think i could educate you on this one :)

  • Hell. This is one of the best TV interviews I have seen. Hitchens is so cool, it hurts.

  • What does Hitch mean when he says "If you gave him an enma you could bury him in a matchbox"?

  • @dsteward210 It means that Falwell was full of shit

  • @dsteward210 because he is so full of shit that if you removed it all he would decrease in size dramatically

  • @dsteward210 He was full of shit and little less!

  • RIP - You were never boring.

  • Rest in peace Hitch. God is not Great, but you were.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song at the beginning?

  • Hitchens is fantastic. it's such a shame he's so ill.

  • "Anyone that cannot draw on 3,000 years of history is living from hand to mouth. It is the only thing that separates us from a naked ape."—Goethe

God speaks from *beyond* time, so that we will know without any shadow of a doubt. The Scriptures do not lie. Man does, because our deeds are evil and so we refuse to come to the Light. Those who do gain eternal life. Repent from lewd unbelief. Believe in Yeshua & He shall give you eternal life and eyes to see what you never imagined is possible...

  • Canada's poster boy for hipster general dared to interview the Hitch eh? Oh I just have to watch this. Please let me see Christopher eviscerate him like Dawkins did to Solomon on CBC. It was a hot mess.

  • Peter Hitchens, this man's brother, has since disavowed the sheer tupidity of atheism.

He's recently written a book about it: "The Rage Against God: How Atheism Led Me to Faith"

Why don't you self-deceived hypocrites get a real clue and look into it. Most of you won't because, of course, you are hypocrites in the truest sense of the word. REPENT!!! HELL AWAITS YOU! FEAR GOD!!!

  • @sexyeur pewp

  • @sexyeur yes i love when christians start throwing threats and fear. keep you backward bronze age bollocks god if you wish, i will not.

  • @atheistdawn "threats and fear...I will not"

Scriptures say fear no man. Scriptures say the fear of God is the *beginning* of wisdom, and that perfect love casts out all fear. Yeshua says Fear God Who has the power to destroy both your soul and your body in hell should you refuse to know there has and will be only be One Truth, and no truth apart from Him. You will not and that is one choice, but it's not the wisest. Your life will end. Scripture is and always comes true...Choose life. Repent.

  • @sexyeur Then the scriptures are full of shit. using fear to control is the beginning of totalitarianism. If you use fear to get people to believe, your position is a position of weakness. Faith based mumbo jumbo. Funny that nobody had to use fear to get me to accept the sun exists, mainly because there is tons of evidence for the existance of the sun. what made you believe in the jewish god? instead of krishna? or thor? or odin? horus? amon ra? ............

  • @atheistdawn "using fear to control"

You contend that fear, per se, has no good nor place in life, eh? It's totalitarianism? Let's put your gf/wife or close relatives in with a brutal rapist and see your "philosophy" at work, eh? What's faith tell you about the character and heart of a man then? Do you think you're unique because you accept the fact of the GOD shines on us all? Did you make that sun? Where did it come from? Your 'righteousness' is as filthy rags, a surer fact any can sadly see

  • @sexyeur Brutal rapist? is there any other kind of rapist?. although thinking of such things shines a light onto your mental state. faith tells you a man/woman is weak, clinging on to childish certainties of fantasy fairies and sprites, sky gods and unicorns. I believe in no gods. the sun is part of the continuing process of gravity, mass, forming, destroying then forming again. the stars died so that we may live. your faith is a position of weakness of character. a surer fact any can sadly see.

  • @atheistdawn "Brutal rapist? is there any other kind...? ... I believe in no gods..."

There's you. You rape others when you disavow other truths simply because you hold your values higher but solely by self-absorbed stupidity. I believe everyone has a little bit of the truth, but that there is more of it, in higher concentration and source than you'd ever care to recommend. I declare the Word of His many prophecies found in the Bible, that Yeshua is Spirit & Truth, beyond mere Time and space.

  • @sexyeur just assertions without evidence, and evidence is my higher value.

  • @LazaaMMA "repent, or what?"

Or you will be a fool not to escape eternal damnation. What hope is there for you if you refuse? You have your reward now, in that case. Enjoy your life because you will never enjoy eternity, your own conscience will "reward" you and even you will know you don't belong any place but in hell for "knowing better."

The rich man couldn't even get a drop of water, when he appealed to Lazarus of whom the rich man gave no thought but for himself. REPENT! Or HELL awaits!

  • Christopher Hitchens is deceived. He speaks from his own darkened mind, judging our God as nought. Repent, you who would pretend to follow him to justify your own lusts. God is not mocked.

"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works." Ps.145.

We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, not this evil stupidity. Repent.

  • I like position of hitchens: he is prowar, but not protorture. He is proaction, not propassivnes. He is doing things, sayings what he things instead of milling dyplomatic bullshit in order not to offende someone. I like it and I would like to be more like him.

  • @saffiyhissoapy ROFL!

  • Comment removed

  • I think the "likes" may have been responding to Hitchens being waterboarded.

  • Once again there are more likes than dislikes on yet another atheist video!!!!! there are way more atheist out there than one might believe. Hitchens like Dawkins and many others are brilliant!!!!

  • @saffiyahissoapy Uh thats because Christians don't look up videos or waste their time listening to the likes of Mr. Christopher Hitchens or atheists in general. Just as I imagine youtube videos of Michael Jackson don't draw too many people as viewers who think he was a marginal talent. LOL! Next time, try thinking before you make stupid comments

  • @MrWhadayaknow medieval neanderthal!!!!!!

  • Finally...the voice of pissed off reason

  • Scriptures tell Israel befell

    Judgment to their own evil

    Living a living hell

    Remember these were God's people!

So what will he do to you?

    All you ungodly

    Your pride nurtured by mockery

    Yes you...

    TAKE HEED!

  • @sexyeur your username makes these religious ramblings all the more comical.

  • @branahawk And that's about as deep as you get, isn't it "branahawk" heh. Always looking at the outside of the cup, and never the inside. Always concerning yourself with proving your superficiality than developing any maturity, or intelligence. And what if it were true? ;) I leave you to think about that. You should. The clothes don't always make the man, you should have heard. I'm sorry for your cheap stupidity, but not nearly as sorry as you are for displaying it. Good day to you.

  • @sexyeur you sure showed me. Made me cry like a babe. I didn't try to prove anything btw, and I left no clues for you to be able to judge my intelligence/maturity. Because people like you simply aren't worth the time of people like me. You being - the superstitious man clinging unto fairy tales and me - the realistic man who bases his "superficiality" on observation and study. And despite your attempt to be aggresive using the guise of internet anonymity, you're still quite comical, even more so.

  • @branahawk "people like you aren't worth the time like me"

hypocrisy is king with you. hell waits for you. how "comical" is that? There is no superstition like yours, branahawk. You are self-deceived since you don't WANT to know; or you would read the prophecies yourself. Cyrus called more than a hundred years before his time, with an outline of his accomplishments. Same with Alexander. Same with Jesus. Historical facts you willfully ignore to imbibe your precious stupidity among others. Fool!

  • @sexyeur I'm very open to evidence and concrete proof; if there were any solid evidence, I'd strongly support it. But there isn't. So I stick to what I know for fact. I don't deny the existence of God, neither do I enforce it.

And yes, inflicting your belief unto others in the manner in which you are doing is hateful and wrong. Comes in conflict with christianity in the first place. The fact that you need to be reminded of the tenets of your own faith is what makes you all the more *comical*.

  • @branahawk "I'm very open to evidence and concrete proof"

Nearly 150 years b4 Cyrus was born...Isaiah foretold his birth, his name, & the tasks that the Creator God had predetermined for him to accomplish..certain people are foreordained to be born & carry out specific tasks for God during their lifetime & a few of these individuals are even named before their birth. Cyrus the Great was one of these individuals whom God had predestined to play a pivotal roll in his awesome plan for humanity.

  • @sexyeur any respectable piece of evidence demands sources (or bibliography). what are your sources? The bible? passed down your family by your papa? or is there a written document or an authentic stone engraving that says so? And if it was, then how can we know it's true? Evidence needs to be nearly palpable, what you just copy pasted me seems vague, blunt and means nothing to me. As creationists say to evolutionists: Show me the facts! They do... can you?

  • @branahawk "what are your sources? The Bible?"

Indeed we have more to justify the legitimacy of the Bible than we do many other historical documents that no one else questions. I believe there are only ~9 copies of Caesar's Gaelic War and no one questions their authenticity. You serve nothing but blind prejudice discounting the Bible for the giant it is in history. Men have willingly died for what has been revealed by it, while you have nothing but ignorant skepticism. It's wallowing shame.

  • Hitch is my hero.

  • @jordaniac89 - Did you hear he passed away yesterday?

  • @vendetta89 I did. Very sad.

  • If I were to give a prize for the best interviewer pound for pound in the world I would give it to George

  • All that smoking and alcohol probably had a large effect on his cancer.

Hitch says: "Fuck it. Life's too short anyway."

  • i used to be very liberal prior to 9/11 as well, i started studying Islam and it gave me a huge wake-up call that i hope most Westerners answer to.

  • 1:14-

"Who the hell are you? I think you're about as smart as you look."

lol Does anybody know which interview this clip comes from?

  • "..and hes also taken on another big name, someone named god." lol

  • yeah, he has a few good points about religion...just wish he didn't have such arrogant views about how it's right to invade other countries. We've "secured" Iraq? Really? Last time I checked, the government we supported had almost no control over anything and was corrupt. Yay for America!

  • I would like to thank Canadian journailists ( George Stombo) for putting on a great interview without their intrusive opinions. A true interview, not an interogation.

  • 匚卄尺工ち匕口ㄗ卄モ尺___卄工匕匚卄モれち 1949 - ∞

I made a tribute video for the great Hitchens on my home page!

  • ah, that's where "portsmouth, england" is?

  • this seems such a mismatch between interviewer and interviewee... hitchins next appearance will be on the ellen degeneres show!! woohoo!

  • @kroqster You really don't give the interviewer enough credit, he does very well indeed.

  • @kroqster Really? Two of the country's smartest, need I say, funniest, people? Do I need a greater incentive?

  • @writersblock26 are you talking about the ellen degeneres show comment? dont get me wrong... Hitchens on Ellens show would be what it is... i imagine light hearted and humourous for it to work, nothing wrong with that... but this guy appears to be wanting to be taken seriously... but all i see hear is him nervously (sycophantically?) laughing and agreeing and repeating what Hitchens is saying... Hitchens is always going to be a daunting opponent to take on for anyone...

  • 12 people think god is great.

  • there should be an alliance between atheists, gays and abortionists

  • @MamaMario13 There's no reason for such an alliance. There are many atheists who are "pro life," which should not be confused with the phony pro life position adopted by many of the religious, who actually have very little concern for life. As for homosexuality, most atheists would probably like to see equality for all, but don't see a need to focus on homosexuals per se.

  • @isaachaze1 Indeed. Hitchens himself is pro-life.

  • @LieskyDiesky Well, I think that might be a bit simplistic, but I suppose it depends on how you define "pro life". For a good vid of Hitchens on abortion, search for Hitchen on humanism and abortion

  • But he doesn't believe in god anymore does he? Haha

  • there is no god but darwin and hitchens, harris, dawkins, and dennet are his prophets

  • I like Hitchens for his commitment, but in a big irony-- Obama is NOT on his side-- Obama is a self professed "Christian." So LIBBIES! Flip out on that, heathen atheists! LOL

  • There is a god and his name does start with C. It's Christopher. Where do you think that expression Jesus H. Christ came from? The H. is a reference to Hitchens. God Bless?

  • scientific history needs ~ more science ~ this evolutionary crap ~ is religi-culous ~ I hope this isnt' what this dude is tryin' 2 pimp ~ excuse my french ~ btw

  • there must b a God ~ the screen turnd white :-P

  • I feel dumb when I disagree with Hitchens considering his intellect is far beyond mine fortunately it's very rare that I don't at least see his point

  • Haha funny. An athiest, doesnt believe in God and is dying of Cancer WHAT! God must hate him, and I don't blame HIM!

  • @HeLeX63

Well, there is the part about drinking enough alcohol to kill or stun a mule . . . and the chain-smoking . . .

  • Comment removed

  • @HeLeX63 So God is responsible for cancer? For killing little children with leukemia? Or just in Hitchen's case; for your convenience?

  • @HeLeX63 uh, yes, believe it or not, atheists also contract terrible diseases. Not really that funny; just a part of life. I suspect if there really was a god, he would hate morons that laugh about cancer more than he would hate people that didn't believe in him because they had no reason to ;)

  • Hitchens, Dennett, Harris and Dawkins pulled the straight razor of logic from one ear to the other on religion. It now comes to the internet to flail and flop as it bleeds out in death throes.Like a vampire in the sun it dissolves to dust under the brilliance of the beam of logic and reason. Religion attracts the failed, the fallen, the weak of my species. It is a fantastic dividing marker for who is human and who is just religious.Dont ignore this important division, its there for a reason.

  • Hitchens kicks it old school like no other.

  • Please make it through chris.....we share the same name......but come one man live damit we need people to speak for us

  • @Guitarstring187 Very sad and I am rooting for him. We love you Chris, get well please.

  • I'm not even into men, and he is far too old for me but he has BEAUTIFUL eyes.

  • How many journalists would be waterboarded in order to form a proper opinion on it? Amazing. I hope he beats his esophageal cancer and keeps being amazing.

  • @tipoomaster yeah its like orwell living as a bum for real just to write about it

  • @tipoomaster dont get your hopes up its a terrible cancer.

  • @tipoomaster

I know. 14,750 a year diagnosed in the States, 14,000 die every year. Not very survivable.

  • @tipoomaster He seems to be feeling better and he's still writing. You read his essays?

  • @RealTime88

    Yes I do

  • Awesome! Truly a man of his convictions.

  • Go and read God is not Great. It's available at fine book stores everywhere.

  • His logic is incredible! Not to mention his logic is very very simple. Hitchens is a true human being.

Henry Kissinger IS a war criminal. Mother Teresa actually criticised her own religion and good for her! She would poke fun at her gods, Yahweh, Jesus and the holy ghost/spirit because what she saw and what was written and proclaimed in the bible stood directly against MT's cause.

This is why Hitchens calls her a phoney, because she seems Christian, but doesn't speak in full faith of it.

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND Not to mention her stance on contraception which was the root cause of many of the problems she did work to solve.

  • anyone else notice the portsmouth arrow was about 400 miles out

  • anyone else wondering how you go about finding a professional waterboarder? good interview

  • where is he and what is he doing at 0:25? looks worth looking up

  • @jozza5589

I think he's haranguing mourners outside Buckingham Palace after Princess Diana's death. At 1:22 he's at the same place, wearing the same cool grey suit, speaking ill of the dead lady. Still looks interesting.

Probably part of some TV documentary, perhaps produced by the man himself, that will eventually surface on YouTube once someone dusts off their old VHS recording.

  • Greatest interviewer i've ever seen.

  • down with the Jesus Freaks !!!

  • @Dodi9914 Down with people who make comments that have nothing to do with the video. That would include you Dodi.

  • @Jmsadv

i guess you're one of those jesus freak that were soooooo shocked when the saw that video !

  • @Dodi9914 I am shocked with your bad grammer and why can't you put together a complete sentence. Are you possesed with a Red Neck Demon or are you just this stupid?

  • 7:53 Hitchens quotes Julius Caesar - AWESOME!

  • Hitchens looks like Gene Hunt

  • @johnaiton I thought exactly this when he took a drag on that cigarette. I did a double-take, I'd just watched Life on Mars as well.

  • He cracked a smile !!! He really did honest I saw him

  • God is NOT great and religion DOES poison everything!!!

  • Religion is nonsense. Bless you Hitchens for awakening many people to reason and logic.

  • @briancolejennifer now now, no blessing around here :-)

  • @briancolejennifer its more than that, religion is toxic nonsense with a sinister purpose~~

  • @briancolejennifer I know right. I don't get it why they believe in it so much? Its as if they want delusions instead of reason and logic!

  • @briancolejennifer Haha, you just wait, when you die, sure you'll rot, but, you will then see a burning figure approaching you, you try to change course but your faith was lacking in depth. You are then sucked into a place very hot, red, and vivid. And there you will burn for eternity, wishing you could have a second chance and believe in God, but you were just too late, you live but NEVER DIE in PURE PAIN and Agony. That is called hell and you are going to it very SOON!

  • @HeLeX63 Ah your version of it, I understand sounds neat like a "Dantes Inferno" type of thing, you know that poem that manipulated many people into believing in it because it played on the unknown and mentioned god and punishment and played on the irrational fear of many people so much that it changed the way the catholic church operates? That is religion, just fear, only fear and more fear. baah That is why I abandoned it, try it. See what happens, it made me a better person. Funny right?

  • @HeLeX63 cool story brah.

  • @briancolejennifer Agreed! But I wonder if "bless you" isnt the wrong expression here? haha

  • Religions are inherited or accepted emotionally. Both are erroneous paths in the search for truth. Google Doe’s Account.

  • @CMVD777

    You're very lazy you know.

You have copy and pasted each of these messages of yours on various videos and yet when I offer a point by point rebuttal on one of the videos to each of these messages, you don't reply.

  • @Averagegamer100

    What?! proofs please!

  • @CMVD777

One example I can give is a video in the related video section. "Hells Angel: Mother Teresa by Christopher Hitchens (1 of 3)"

There are a few others. You have just been going about copying and pasting the same set of messages. Also interesting to note is that you reply to my message here but not the messages where I provided a point by point rebuttal on another video. Until you do, me and you are done. Until you do, I will assume you to be a troll.

  • @CMVD777 Since we don´t believe in any gods logically we also don´t believe in one of the other fictional characters mentioned in one of the so called "holy" books such as satan.

However according to the bible Satan has killed far less people then your god so even if i would be on his side it still be on the side of the lesser evil.

  • God exist! evidences:

    1. In Bible we find a lot of prophecies which happened and are happening, examples: vatican, midle east, united states, new order etc.

    2. If anybody will follow what God asks (ex: praying), everybody will have whatever they want (ask). Note:Praying in a right form, following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible (keeping the 10 commandments - including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.).

  • I like him, but I love Diana!

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again...the interviewer is great.

I've seen several of his interviews now and he has been great every time.

  • i am so buying his books, he seems brilliant!

  • The creator of physics, the creator of "time" itself, couldnt come up with a better way to reach the people of this earth? Religion has blinded you. You have not only limited yourself, but you have limited your gods abilities. By believing in something that has human limitations written all over it, you put yourself in a diluted state of mind.

  • I would absolutely have loved to see a Norman Mailer-Hitchens debate on the Middle East. Two great minds that specialize in debate.

  • "Literary Bad-ass" is right!

  • What's the sound clip at 1:14?

Does anyone know where it's from?

  • what the fuck i can see this video but not part 2 because of copyright...fuck off!

  • i can see the part II. what country are you from ?

  • @cociubac Im from the UK

  • Spare me the squalid pleasantries of gutter-life.

  • but i like squalor

  • I despise that picture of Lord Bertrand Russell in the right hand corner of this Screen.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson ..... no one cares

  • Please, mind your own business, you effete drunkard.

  • Can anyone tell me if videos are dated somewhere? I would like to know when this interview occurred.

    Thank you.

  • @lexaling look in the descrip

  • Thanks, Dar, but sometimes the date in the upper corner seems not to jibe with contents of the video.

    Thanks again for responding.

  • yes, I dated videos in my own town. We've been going steady for two months now, and I think I'm in love. Me and the video are engaged to be married next year.

  • "I think you are as smart as you look" LOL

  • Stroumboulopoulos is such a great interviewer! Makes me proud to be Canadian!

I'm reading God Is Not Great right now. Hitchens makes fantastic points, excellent writing.

  • When i think of Great people like Hitchens and Dawkins I have hope That we will win.., And all of this nonsence can be sent to the Imaginary hell it beleives

  • The interviewer is George Stroumboulopoulos who has a prime time interview show nightly on CBC.

  • whats the name of the interviewer? this guy is amazing

  • @esperanza31288 George Stroumboulopoulos. Say that 3 times fast. He was a VJ on Much Music in Toronto for a long time.

  • @esperanza31288

George Stroumboulopoulos. The Hour is a Canadian show.

  • @esperanza31288 George Stroumboulopoulos

  • @esperanza31288

George Stroumboulopoulos. He hosts the Hour on the CBC. I live in very upstate New York so I get the CBC and I have to say, he is better than any talk show host we have here in the US.

  • @esperanza31288

His name is George Stroumboulopoulos (not a joke - that's his real last name). He's Canadian, and used to work for Much Music, but has since taken on his own pseudo-political media career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), namely this show: "The Hour"

  • @esperanza31288 george strombolopolous (not spelled right)

  • @esperanza31288 And he's Hella'fuckin dead sexy! I'm not gay, but he made me hard! Ha ha ha!

  • @Paulwhoisvegan that makes you gay

  • @Paulwhoisvegan Sorry to have to break it to you man but if he gave you wood then you are gay . . .
