@tristantao I don't really have any problems with it. You just have to be cautious about stops. I only put one foot down and then keep the other on the peg. Passengers are very tricky to ride with however.
@kani9000 yea im 5'6, riding a 06 sv650. kind of tiptoe-ing. but you learn to stop on one foot.
props to the guy with the r6. yamaha has the highest seat height of all.
I also know a 5'2 girl who rides cbr1000. you learn to handle it. but be ready for it to tip over, especially in the beginning cus man, bikes are heavy when it's not moving :S
i have a couple questions. im looking into buying the 675 but i dont know much about it. is maintnace expensive? and are parts expencive or hard to replace? and is there eny problems with the bike? thank you.
Maintance isn't expensive and most can be done at home with the help of TuneECU. Parts are going to be more expensive just because the bike isn't nearly as old as say an r6/gixer..etc. Be prepared to wait up to two weeks for some parts because they are coming overseas. No problems with the bike. Very fun to ride and even more fun when people have no clue that this bike can scream like a banshee..hahah
Yep, and they were quickly gone after one session on the track... :-) There's no need to push it on the street. I enjoy riding so when on the street it's just fun, on the track though that's another story..lol
@skoti67 hardly chicken strips anyway. they look like very new tires with very full tread. it just looks like dirt from where you rolled your bike onto the mount......quit trolling skoti, you probably ride like a pussy!
Sounds great... I'm having a tough time deciding whether to get an akrapovic or an arrow for my 675. I loved the high rev scream of my jardine but it was just too damn loud so I'm back to stock atm. I'd rather not take the baffle out of the arrow if I do get it for fear of it being too loud. How obtrusive is it without the dB killer in? I can't get a good feel from a youtube vid.
With the DB killer in the exhaust sounds pretty much like the stock silencer... Without the db killer the bike sounds exactly how it should. It's not like a jardine at all. Jardine is entirely too loud IMHO. Plus this looks OEM but you get the nice sound of the triple when you open it up. The akrapovic looks pretty much like the Arrow. I went with the arrow because that's what was out first and you KNOW you are getting a quality piece! :-) Hugger was from carbonuk DOT net
@sniprick How can it be too loud? =P Today I got my Termignoni's on my Ducati 848 and it sounds like a thunderstorm now xD It's great, but maybe a bit tóó loud. But that's the fun of it xD
just out of curiosity, is it true that the engine ina triumph daytona goes out at around 15-20k miles ? im not trying to downplay the bike , i think its awesome and freaking gorgeous , but just a rumor i heard that i would like to clear up because i might be a potential buyer ! thanks !
@salchipapa8000 Completely false.. anyone that is telling you that is an idiot and knows nothing about bikes...
Many members on my forums have well over 35,000 miles and the bike is still going strong from day one. Unlike jap bikes the daytona isn't strung out in the HIGH rpms all the time due to the very linear power band and torque. It's very smooth power all the way from 2k rpm up to redline.
@NewShockerGuy Damn you! Now i want to sell one of my kidneys to get the bike. I mean i wanted one for couple of years, but as a college student along with lack of finances, i cant. I heard triumph overtakes all other company from every aspect of the bike as well as user review. :) Well, im done drooling, enjoy the bike. :)
@NewShockerGuy dont hate brah, i got a honda cbr600rr 2006 and that shit is bomb. the r6 is the only jap bike with that shit horrible powerband thats all top end. my honda has 30k miles and still strong as fuck and mint due to previous owner taking awesome care of her. So dont try to shit on the jap bikes.
With all that said, I believe my next bike will be a 675 though because i love that triple sound :D
@salchipapa8000 What would be the point of making a bike that the engine ever did 15-20k miles! I mean really. If I told you the moon was made from cheese would you ask me about that too! ;-)
Great bike mate, What brand is your tail tidy? It looks like an R&G, is that correct? Was their any fitting problems with the Arrow can? If it's not an R&G can you tell me the brand please. It looks tight brother.
Beautiful bike man, You were saying about the exup valve and removing the DB killer. Can you tell me were to locate each to do the same? The Arrow Slipon is the Triumph factory option exhaust, is that correct. Cheers buds.
Just using TuneECU (which is free) disabled the Exub valve so it's always open, removed SAI so it doesn't pop as much on decel... Other than that the cat is still there until I cut it out.
what are some/list of the problems or issues u've had with the daytona 675? cuz one of the problems ive heard was how easily the hot seat was caused by high temperature and the undertail exhaust.
Zero problems. The bike runs and pulls like a monster. You pretty much look at the corner you want to go into and the bike follows.
Yes your ass will get hot but keep in mind this is a track bike... stop and go traffic it is HOT no doubt about that. Once you are moving you are fine. I have not experienced the heat issue when wearing full leathers or my racing suit... I've tried jeans before and it's too hot...
@o0jun0o the hot seat is not bad at all... you should feel the yamaha when it gets hot HOLY smokes. a little more for passenger though i will admit. i have had issue with fuel rectefier or some shit i am getting it back soon luckily still under warranty. it has not been recalled yet but in alot of the 09s it has gone out other than that this bike it THE shit
When you remove the DB killer it's an insert that muffles the sound of the exhaust... some tracks require a certain DB level and if you go HIGHER than their value then you either have to run with the db killer or change exhausts because they won't let you do the track...
Most ride without it on the road because it does sound better without it in.
Yes, without the DB killer it's louder and sounds much nicer. Some places require a dB limit so that is why you would keep it in... IE: Some tracks, cities..etc.
If you can run it WITHOUT, do it! So much better!
Check out TuneECU. It's JUST the tuneboy software but it's FREE! I diabled the exup valve and removed all that shit now! No more squeaky valve and never have to worry about a CEL again!
Arrow hands down.. Looks so much better than the Jardine and it's not raspy like the jardine! Lots of my friends have the jardine.. if you want loud go with it, but honestly I think it's too damn loud ESPECIALLY once you get on a track...etc.
Arrow mates rght up to the bike and looks OEM.. looks awesome!
Really, really well done bike. From the looks, to the sound, to the performance I know it's got (I myself have an 08 675) this is a really well put together package. If you were close to Kansas City, we'd have the 2 best looking bikes on the street around here.
I live in KC as well. I haven't bought my 675 yet but in the process of looking. There really aren't too many around at all. In the process of changing over from Yamaha.
There is a little torx screw that is spot welded to the Db killer. Just break the weld loose (which isn't hard) and 10 seconds later you go the db killer out.
Really nice bike! myself i got a 08 gsx-r 600. screamer at 18000rpm ;p

They are TechSpecs Snakeskins on the tank so when hard braking you can squeeze the tank with your thighs.
Great improvement over having nothing there..
For my track bike I have stompgrips but they tend to eat at your leathers...
