The drum solo was so fast it shows that it lasted 36 seconds when in actuality, it was a 'regular length' solo..u know, like, 5 min long. The illusion of his speed made it 36 seconds. Yeah, this is good stuff.
This is NOT "sped up", all you have to do is watch his snare hand (left). The reason it looks odd...is because this is FILM, not video. Film moves at 24 frames per second, so when you move quicker, it looks off.

This video isn't sped up. It looks that way because of a common frame rate problem. It's just like how people always look like they're moving faster under a strobe light. Because this was recorded in the 70's, the camera probably had a bit of a slower frame rate than current cameras. The video speed matches the audio speed, and it sounds the way it was recorded. This problem comes up in video editing all the time.
I have this on my iPod. And Bonzo's drumming is sped up in this video, but just a tiny bit. It is still incredible the things he could do on that drum set, but still, this is sped up.

This one is a bit fast yes, but not that much faster. I've watched both and I must say the difference is incredibly minute, Bonzo IS that fast. I have never seen another human being move that fast.
This is the PAL version of the movie, google it, but this version is settup. If you have the original version of the film in PAL, the film runs faster.
The regular speeded version is the original speed of this solo, thanks to bootleg proof, and it's pretty damn fast.
Hey jimmyblues, nice name, your right the video quality is very poor and can not be compared to todays standards. this was recorded in 1973, it was a project that was originally scraped, but when the new album was delayed they decided to fill in with The Song Remains the the same. So most of the original tapes were lost or stolen sometime after the movie was released. this clip has probabely been copied over a few times before it was posted here. I could go on but not enough letters left
@jimmyblues15 sped up, give me a break, he was that fast PERIOD! look at some of his other solo's the guy had lighting speed, not to mention that TMLZ would never stup so low, a cause they didn't have too. plus he played a single bass drum. Oh he tried the double bass thing in rehersals many times, probabely cause he thought it looked cool. The problem was that any time he took a break and left the room, 1 of his band mates would throw 1 out the window cause he could do it all with 1 bass

This one is a bit fast yes, but not that much faster. I've watched both and I must say the difference is incredibly minute, Bonzo IS that fast. I have never seen another human being move that fast.

This is the PAL version of the movie, google it, but this version is settup. If you have the original version of the film in PAL, the film runs faster.
The regular speeded version is the original speed of this solo, thanks to bootleg proof, and it's pretty damn fast.

Hey jimmyblues, nice name, your right the video quality is very poor and can not be compared to todays standards. this was recorded in 1973, it was a project that was originally scraped, but when the new album was delayed they decided to fill in with The Song Remains the the same. So most of the original tapes were lost or stolen sometime after the movie was released. this clip has probabely been copied over a few times before it was posted here. I could go on but not enough letters left

@jimmyblues15 sped up, give me a break, he was that fast PERIOD! look at some of his other solo's the guy had lighting speed, not to mention that TMLZ would never stup so low, a cause they didn't have too. plus he played a single bass drum. Oh he tried the double bass thing in rehersals many times, probabely cause he thought it looked cool. The problem was that any time he took a break and left the room, 1 of his band mates would throw 1 out the window cause he could do it all with 1 bass

@wasyes I don't doubt that he could play very fast. Its just that the video quality looks a bit odd to me, like its in fastforward on a VCR. Its amazing what he could do.
