Can't understand why Steve Lawrence has never really received the credit he deserves. He really is a wonderful singer and can be spoken of in the same breath as Sinatra.Monro and Damone. In my opinion, along with the version by Danny Williams, this is one of the two best versions of this truly great song.Great vocal by Steve and also a really classy arrangement.
Is the B side of this called "Poor little rich girl" and if so, is there any chance you could post it please - I can remember it from my childhood but can't seem to get a copy of it in any format.
you fucking goof..I was refering to the comment above me you godam nigger..dont tell me shit I already know Okay..? or I'll tear your fucking black head off.
If you read my comment it was the song "now that we're in love" which the previous comment asked about is from the 1975 movie 'Whiffs" you fuckin harelipped nigger
thanks for sharing this song. i missed this wonderful piece my dad used to play. can i request for another Steve Lawrence favorite? Send Someone to Love Me.
Yah..I have that song..it's from the movie 'Whiffs' - 1975. I only vaugely remember watching the movie, but as I recall it's playing on the loudspeakers as they enter an Army base.
@HandShock the song "More" was the theme from the Italian film "Mondo Cane". Besides Steve Lawrence. Andy Williams, Ed Ames, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Vic Damone, Bobby Darin, Robert Goulet, Wayne Newton, Al Martino, Jim Nabors, Kai Winding, Nat King Cole, Helen Forrest & Johnny Mathis also did this song.
@frankd1965 Actually Perry Como never recorded this song. He did record a song with this title, however it is a very different tune and is available on youtube. See for yourself. Recently a Lawrence Welk show on PBS saluted Perry by singing this song and making the same error.
@CarlDuke I did see that episode of "The Lawrence Welk Show" and they performed this song. What year did Perry did that theme More which was a different rendering.
This is one of my most fave song....and I love Steve Lawrence when he sings...
Wonder if anyone of you knows his old song entitled "IN TIME"....this was way back 1960 or 1961.....lyrics go like this: ..."Don't say you're sorry....it had to be...go on your way now...don't pity me....I know I can't forget in time......I appreciate it very much...
Nancy just type Steve Lawrence In time in the search on the You tube and you will see it. I am glad I saw your comments and I was reminded of the song. I like it too.

who's the bitch?
Ana Theresa Licaros? or is it Anna Theresa Licaros?
they can't decide how to spell her name.
Who the hell is she?
What has she got to do with a song by Steve Lawrence?
Did he sleep with her?

I love this type of music. Steve's rendition is very good, but Andy Williams' version is still the very best!
