to turn it up all the way, do you have to get aftermarket pistons that can take the heat? Because i wanna make our 93 F350 IDI smoke like that. And how do you turn it up all the way? Thanks
@brandonya1990 thats true. dont turn it up all the way, its dumb. all u do is waste fuel. i have mine turned up 1/4 of a turn and it run great. when i want it to smoke it does, but i dont smoke every time i accelerate.
the pistons are aluminum, they cant take a whole lot of heat. thats why a pyrometer is recommended when doing a normal 1/6 or 1/4 turn.
the most i wuld turn up the pump without a turbo is 5 flats if you have a turbo you can bottom out the pump

its not pistons it is injectors and turn up the injector pump

@waneben Well now i know but, someone was saying the stock pistons cant take a lot of the exhaust heat. Thats why i was asking about that.
