Thats true, bolter ammo I saw in artwork section of Warhammer Rulebook and Astartes codex is about the size of granade louncher version! :P they are huge.

Why do the bolters on the models have ejection ports
Because Bolters can take several types of ammunation, one of which uses a case for high speed when leaving the muzzle for dealign with things that get too close. Thus sometimes they drop shells.

Why is the barrel so huge and the ammo so tiny?
I dont think a tank could handle rough terrain with its tracks covered with armor so low to the ground. It would bottom out on logs ect.
Try mixing some sounds in, basic gunfire sync to animation. Slap on some textures, bump maps. Keep workin on it.
