"In the early 1960s, visitors to Salam’s office reported having seen a bottle of Scotch. Alcohol is forbidden to Muslims. However, Salam could have meant it as a gesture of hospitality: in those days even non-smokers could keep an elaborate cigarette box to proffer to visitors."

Did Steven Weinbergs do anything to promote science for thirld world countries, did he do efforts like slam to promote physics in poor human beings. I salute Dr Slam who proved his name, which means "peace" and he tried to use his skills peacefully for benefits of human beings irrespective of race/religion and you can see it the form of ICTP in Italy.
off course Dr Slam was not a office/lab person he proved himself a hero at various levels.He gave suggestions to thirld world countries for their development, made ICTP for very body to get high level of physics education and felt proud to be a religious person who did not suggest to use technology for human destruction but its construction and got atom for peace award.

I have watched the full interview. Both the host and the scientist in this video are extremist atheists. The whole interview was actually an atheist propaganda against religion as a whole but in particular the religion of Islam. It contains several fallacies when it comes to the religious understanding of these two individuals. It was very obvious Weinberg promoting his atheist agenda told such a big lie about Dr Salam. Dr Salam is the only scientist that genuinely poses their agenda a threat.

Dr.Abdus Salam was a man who lived and breathed the Holy Qur'an. He came upon his discovery of the electro magnetic theory FROM the Qur'an, which he stated at the Nobel Prize ceremony. So why would a man so in love with the Qur'an defy one of the most fundamental things considered to be haram as per the Qur'an. baseless allegations.

No we're not jealous. There are a lot of non-Muslim Nobel prize winners. He was not a Muslim. BTW He shared it with two other people. One of whom is Weinberg.

So I would say that at the end science is not going to eat the lunch of religion, as mentioned by the speakers in this video, but science is going to support the religion, like we can see in the form of unification on which Steven Weinberg has worked a lot. Did Steven Weinbergs do anything to promote science for thirld world countries, did he do efforts like slam to promote physics in poor human beings. I salute Dr Slam who proved his name, which means "peace" and he tried to use his skills peacefully for benefits of human beings irrespective of race/religion and you can see it the form of ICTP in Italy.

off course Dr Slam was not a office/lab person he proved himself a hero at various levels.He gave suggestions to thirld world countries for their development, made ICTP for very body to get high level of physics education and felt proud to be a religious person who did not suggest to use technology for human destruction but its construction and got atom for peace award.

Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (rm) published a response to Dawkin's book 11 years ago now, and Dawkins has yet to develop the courage to respond. An 11 year silence? It sounds to me like Dawkins is clearly unable to admit he is wrong. It really is sad to see him "preach" his atheism, challenging anyone to respond to him - and when someone does, pretend that he heard nothing. Indeed, Allah has set a seal over their eyes, ears, and hearts (HQ ch 2)

I can write a rebuttal to the juvenile ramblings of Mirza Tahir Ahmed but I have better things to do then you waste my time of people who have been brainwashed all their lives. I used to be one of you, now thankfully I'm religion-disease free!

@sxhafeez: Congrats on being disease free. I'm amazed that you found evidence that God doesn't exist. That's fascinating, because that's a claim even Dawkins doesn't make. In fact, logically speaking, it is impossible to find evidence "beyond any doubt" that something/anything doesn't exist. I'm not sure what you're referring to my friend, but don't let anyone's inability to logically explain the religion you left = proof that God doesn't exist.

First, Dawkin's has clearly stated, several times, that he will not debate creationists - it's akin to a reproductive scientist debating a stork theory believer. Second, if you had read both Revelation, Rationality, Knowledge and Truth (which basically presents a circular logic for the existence of god - Why does god exist? Because he says in his book he exists! Using your premise as you're conclusion isn't intelligence, and is not a valid argument), as well The God Delusion you would

@sxhafeez: If you had actually read Revelation Rationality Knowledge and Truth, you would know that Mirza Tahir Ahmad is NOT a Creationist, and declares quite clearly that evolution plays a fundamental role in everything. Rather than deny, he champions evolution.
So much for your rebuttal that his "conclusion is circular." I look at the perfect harmony of the universe and say, "what a brilliant Artist! You look and say, "what dumb luck!"

@the1qfactor Has Professor Dawkins seen this book? It was privately published and distributed. Most Ahmadis have not read it themselves. Having said that it remains one of my favourite books and I believe it needs to be reissued in a more academic format.

I have watched the full interview. Both the host and the scientist in this video are extremist atheists. The whole interview was actually an atheist propaganda against religion as a whole but in particular the religion of Islam. It contains several fallacies when it comes to the religious understanding of these two individuals. It was very obvious Weinberg promoting his atheist agenda told such a big lie about Dr Salam. Dr Salam is the only scientist that genuinely poses their agenda a threat.

...and that is the reason they tried to potray him as a person who didn't follow his religion completely. The purpose of mentioning Ahmadiyya sect as an illogical religion is a further proof of his prejudice. The married life of Dr. Salam had nothing to do with the question but Weinberg chose to mention that again to attack religion of Islam as a whole. People like the ones in the interview potray themselves as forward/broad minded while the reality is quite the opposite.

Whether or not they are extreme atheists (which they are), that does not invalidate the point that Dr. Abdul Salam had an alcohol problem.
Now, I'll assume he's not being honest, because he obviously has an anti-religious agenda and Ahmadis aren't like that.
But, he could have brought photos...and you as an Ahmadi would still reject it.

Dr.Salam was the only scientist in the world who openly declared Quran as his inspiration for achieving those heights in the field of science. He remains the only scientist in the world to have recited the verses of Quran in the hall where Nobel prize is awarded and that too in presence of this athiest...

...If they had provided conclusive evidence to prove their accusation as true, then as an Ahmadi I would not have rejected the claim without doing my own proper research on the issue. By the way even if they had brought the photos, I would have done proper research on the authenticity of the photos and that they have not been tampered with.

I agree with you 100% that you can't just take these people on their word alone. But, you can't say "I question them only because they are atheists." That's a fallacy.
Lets suppose those pictures were 100% accurate. Would you then question this Dr. Salam?

farhan00, I do not question them only because they are atheists but because I have seen the whole interview video and the lies they have spoken about the religion of Islam. Their prejudice against religion as a whole and particularly against Islam is quite obvious and that is what makes me question their intentions. If somebody provides me conclusive evidence of anything let alone this particular issue, I would have no hesitation on accepting it.
