And what about the electric cord hanging from his guitar? Sorry to break your bubble but nobody plays without amplification unless they are in their living room. Anyway its a nice video, just with the audio was better. Thanks for posting!
Don't mean to be a pain - but the cable coming out of his guitar would suggest that actually his guitar is electro-acoustic. So it is being amplified.
Sounds awesome though - and is certainly more acoustic than most music these days!
I was there and I've seen thus video atleast 100 times and it still sends chills Massey hall seats probobly a good 1000 people and he filled every corner of that theatre still makes me smile I got to see that thx for posting brings me back (Y)
"Acoustic music comprises music that solely or primarily uses instruments which produce sound through entirely acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means"
So yeah a bagpipe would still be acoustic. No mic, or guitar amps were used, which is what I was trying to express with the title. Seems I just confused most people.
@sjps220 sorry say but hes going direct input so its sadly not the sound your thinking of, its using a pick up so its basically like an electric otherwise you wouldn't heard it from the distance your standing but anyway a brilliant song !!!
@cam2k4 It was quite a bit quieter than his other stuff, so I assumed it was completely acoustic. It doesn't really matter to me if it is or it isn't, so I'm just going to remove the mentions of acoustic from the video. I'd rather all the comments not be arguing this detail. Thanks for the polite response.
wow im so jealous you guys have got to see this great talent.. and another wow for how he has done this song completely acoustic very very nice well done and great filming thanks for posting
Oh and BTW on a guitar theres is this thing called a volume knob, sometimes its attached to the preamp sometimes its right on the top, but its there and lead or no lead it can be turned down all the way. On an acoustic you will still get the sound the guitar would normally give off.
Hey geniuses I saw him in Indy where he did the Blowers Daughter completely acoustic, you could hear a pindrop. He's been said to be moody and he steps away from the mike when the crowd is agitating him.
It's almost certainly switched off. Guitars are louder than voices generally (and yes, I do play guitar and sing), so there would be no need to amplify the guitar if you were singing without amplification.
The cello? yeah, its acoustic too. I don't really understand what you're saying, but both the bass and the cello behind damien are not amplified as far as I can tell from this vid and my memory.
Yo dumb-ass... Violins? Maybe in your world. There's an Acoustic Guitar, Cello & a Double Bass, all acoustic instruments last time I checked. No amplification was used at all in the performance of this song, hence the "completely acoutic" in brackets. Thought so.
@sjps220 hahaha i think assaultmek thinks when something is played "acoustically," it means only with the acoustic guitar. When something is played "acoustic," it is without electronic amplification. all the instruments are able to be played without amplification
I saw this show, and I saw him again at the Hummingbird Centre on the 10th, they were both amazing shows... this is a good video by the way, good zoom, lol
Yeah I was at the show on monday night too. Damien seemed to be in a great mood! I loved it, but I didn't take any more videos. Security was tight, and I tend to enjoy the show more when I'm not taking photos and videos.
Why are you all spitting hairs over this being "acoustic" or not? Just listen to the music...

Not sure why the title says 'completely acoustic'. Not as if he normally plays it on the bagpipes

look you ignorant bastards.
he does do it completely acoustic.
i saw him at birmingham NIA.
and he did this song completely acoustic then
they just turned his guitar channel off, instead of him having to take out the lead.
EvilAngel22 3 years ago
guess what fuck wits, it isnt all acoustic, hence the lead coming from his guitar

i love how it LOOKS like he isnt using a microphone.
casablancko 3 years ago
you think there is a mic somewhere?
The room might be suited for this kinda music... so the voice gets this sound without being aplified. It is possible.
what do you think?
m8freedom 3 years ago
there isnt a mic, he did it in D.C. also, the theater in D.C. was built before mics so he sounded just fine singing with no mic.

Silence over the crowd during this song. It's hard to see Lisa go, but Damien still continues to create and play the great music of our time.
