  • @guillotinedeath i heard the same thing. If you cut all the strings off at once that you can warp the neck?

  • good tutorial, easy to understand, and not to quick. great stuff! :D

  • what are the tone pros for?

i have some on my esp but have no clue

  • ive heard that taking all the strings off is bad?

  • @guillotinedeath Well, good sir. Someone lied to you. Change your strings about once a month. It will keep your guitar sounding good, feeling good, and looking good.

  • @guillotinedeathits only bad if you leave them off for long periods of time.

  • 5:13 showoff. :P

  • what song at 2:24? really nice job and guitar :D

  • i just use my lap to support my guitar, just sayin haha

  • Awesome video! Hey is there any type of liquid you can clean your the body of your vintage guitar with?? What do you clean it with? only the cloth? cause the grease stains wont just go away!

  • so much better than expert village ;)

  • hey, i have an Ibanez rg120 and i have a white body and it gets crap on it easily so how could i clean off the body with out restring the guitar?

  • Dark Tranquility?

  • Thank you, bro.

  • Hey I have an Ibanez with a floating tremolo. If I take all the strings won't that like mess up the Tremolo and sink down or something? Cause I really want to clean my fretboard.(it's starting to get really muddy)

  • @megaluisdeth I have a separate video series about tremolos if you will go to my channel!

  • @megaluisdeth put a wooden block or somthing under the the trem before removing the string, press the trem down (like doing a divebomb) and stick the item in there and see if it stays well and after that done :) change strings and put new ones! :D

  • @maggot6639 Thanks but I sold my Ibanez about 9 months ago! I'll keep that in mind if I get a tremolo guitar again.

  • @megaluisdeth easier said than done but if u take an old string off, clean that area, put the new string on, and just keep going one at a time so that you never lose tension one your bridge/neck you should be good. hope that helps a little bit. also q-tips work good at cleaning under the string and cleaning the string themselves< you'll go through alot of q-tips( cotton swabs on a stick) but it works well.

  • 4:50 thats what she said haha

  • does it matter if your fretboard cleaner is brand-name?

  • pretty guitar bro!!!

  • thanx man this really helped :)

  • ahahahah wow yuh jst threw the pierces of left over lol funny

  • i was told you were supposed to change the strings one at a time... i have no clue really tho

  • duude, that is one kickass Schecter :)

  • Arch enemy in the beginning of the video... not bad man

  • hey I got that guitar string cutter/tuning thing.

  • is that nightwish in the back.

  • what song was playing at 2:42? Thanks for tutorial.

  • @blender3dPy That's "She is my sin" by Nightwish.

  • hey do uk of any way to c=clean the back of the fretboard

  • "don't be afraid to get up in the cracks n shit. that's where your junk's gonna accumulate"

  • i dont know what im doing wrong but when i change my strings it always has a high pitched tone, any advice?

  • @bringmethemike Your information is much too vague, I can't help you unless you give me all the information and what you have/have not tried.

  • Man...dont cut the strings...Just tune down the guitar unitill the guitar string goes out of the tuning twig :) Then just do as you did ^^ Then its in 1 part instead of two...and it takes the same time to do :) so its not so smart cuting the strings :D waste of time :)

    anyways, Good video :)

  • @SunstreakTV If you don't cut the strings, you run the risk of pulling the curled end through your guitar and scratching the finish. Not as quick to just pull the strings through, as a result of which. Not so smart a comment.

  • @viperabs use your tumb nail to bend back the strings a little straight... Then pull it out carefully. Much faster.

  • @SunstreakTV Something about using thumbnail to bend strings just doesn't seem like a smart idea. Cutting strings, obviously faster by virtue of clipping instead of being careful and bending strings back.

  • I heard that your not supposed to change every string at once. Your supposed to go one by one. It'll cause warping.

    Is this true? Just asking...

  • @yourhot266 Just a myth.

  • Oh. Well I thought cause of the pull of the strings...

Just curious, but how long do you think I should take lessons for if I were a beginner? Couple Weeks? Months? I'm aiming for one lesson a week but practicing every day.

  • @yourhot266 Let me ask you a question to answer your question: When you dive the bar, does it relieve all tension from the neck? Thats the same as unstringing the guitar all at once. Depending on teacher, 4-5 months will be PLENTY. With some teachers it may take longer since they will have lesson "plans" which essentially will pace you and set you on a specific course of study. Any details you miss in lessons I probably have a video about.

  • OK thanks alot bud! So after 4 - 5 months I should go mellow for a while? By that I mean solo.

  • dde sick video i hae a schecter too so now i know how to clean mine the right way haha but DUDE what band is that a 2:27? it sounds like opera meets sonata artica?

  • @0Mattizle0 Thats Nightwish, the operatic power metal band. If you really like the operatic part of it, get the older cd's. The newer singer girl sings "normally" if you will.

  • ill check it out nother question...... where did u get all those supplies u used there is a guitar showcase and a guitar center by my house are those good places to get that stuff? thnx 4 ur help man

  • I work for a music store, but guitar center has the same stuff.

  • how long do ur strings last?

do u like dr or dadario strings?

erniballs oxodize in like a week.....blegh

  • Wipe the strings down after every time you play on them with a cloth. If you have extra-sweaty or oily hands then wipe them down even more intricately. I have dry hands, so my strings last as long as I leave them on. I change them about every 4-5 months.

  • what's the dr string cleaner do?

wow those are 10 mins of my life i'll never forget

tyvm man that really helped thanks :D

  • Its a polymer coating for your strings that extends the life of them. Thanks for checking the video out!

  • is that some sinergy i hear?!?

  • Yes, good ear!

  • nice guitar man!

  • in the bridge .. kinda like yours but 3 of them wont go through the body

  • Err...pliers? Try sticking a needle through the hole to push them through.

  • err ...??? it wont work lol ..... ill just do it the hard way and take it apart

  • ok when i took my strings off 3 of them wont come out .....help !!!

  • if u have a stratocaster or anything like that ,that usually happens what i do is that when i remove or get new strings i get the low e string and i poke it through the hole where the stuck string is- cause its thick enuff it will push the ball at the end then it will come out

  • thanx

  • If your'e looking for some really good guitar strings I have one thats really good. I have been searching for about a year now for the perfect strings. I had been using D'addarios for a long time but they didn't last long. I had later found them. They're called Dean Markley Blue Steels. These strings last for a really long time and they always stay in tune.

  • I agree with the Dean Markleys, but they're expensive, and unfortunately steel strings wear your frets more quickly than nickel strings.

  • what could i use if i dont have fret board cleaner

  • Water will suffice.

  • @AASKICKBUTT Dean Markley last longer true but ERNIE BALL or Daddario'S sounds better

  • Have you got SD blackout in that AXE?

  • Yes I do. Thats what makes the ATX series special.

  • Unrelated to this comment but, which do you like better and which are better, ernie ball, kerly kue strings, or d'addario?

  • Well Ernie Balls are just as good as the next string, Kerly Kues have heat treatment to let them last FOREVER, but they start to smell eventually (even if you do wipe them down like I do). Thats just what happens when strings outlive their useful lifespan. D'addario makes a very good string set, but I'll stick to my X Rockers and GHS Progressive strings.

  • isn't it bad to take all the strings off at once ?

  • who sings the opera song i like it? lol

  • Nightwish is the operatic power metal band.

  • ;D 5 stars thanks, cool guitar ... I love cleaning my guitar... but I hate changing strings.... it takes me a lot of time :S thanks for the tips

  • Great tip for you all, mineral oil is best for ebony fretboard and lemon oil is good for a rosewood fretboard.

  • Fantastic, very useful video, awesome music taste in the background :P

  • i only bought the Dunlop Lemon Oil 65 and din bought other conditioner will that work?

  • I try to steer clear of citrus on the fretboard because its harsh and dries out the wood, which can be bad over time.

  • ya well i have a tremelo bridge i cant do that

  • I have a tremolo video too.

  • oh, ill check that out

  • hey, can you tell me what brand your guitar is. cause i saw one at guitar center that looks exactly like yours, and it had vampirebat inlays. it looks awsome.

your video is very helpful. thnx.

  • All my gear is on my channel page. You saw a Damien series guitar.

  • what fretboard clean did you use?

  • Its some basic fretboard oil. Identical to sewing machine oil. After I run out I'm switching to Rosignolo's fretboard cleaner.

  • wats that clipper thing called, can i get 1 at guitarcenter

  • Its just a planet waves string winder/clipper.

  • Thanks...... Background music could be lost.

  • hey, I've got an ESP Ec-1000, its about time for some new strings. I was using D'Addario regular gauge on my les paul, but I don't think these would be the best choice for the guitar. what do you think? maybe switch back to the regular for a little heavy sound

  • "Regular Gauge" eh? Never heard of that...lol For Standard tuning 10-52's, get you some GHS Dave Mustaine Signature strings, or Dunlop strings. Those are THE BEST two strings i've ever used.

  • hi i just got an epi fot in black so u can guess the finger prints are clear as day i dont know what guitar body cleaner i should get can you recommend one or will any do ??

  • Get Meguiars or Rosignolo. Those are the best packages for cleaning. They both do the 3 step process that you'd do on a car. Let me know how it goes!

  • or you can get a dunlop cloth thats very easy to use, you just wipe clean the guitar with it, u can pick one up at guitar center, when i bought my b.c. rich warlock i got one of those, i recommend that too its just about ten bucks, and u can use it as much as u want, and its washable

  • Dunlop cloths ARE microfiber cloths. Its all the same. All cloths are washable...and the dunlop one is more expensive at 10$

  • nice!

  • sweet
