Paice had played violin in the begining and was a kind of virtusoso on this instrument too. I remember when I was listening him playing Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso by Saint Saens...It was sounding like a true concertist(violin player)!!!What a good and fertilize times for music - 1960-1975!.

Saw them in Maryland right before Jon stopped touring. They were on the bill with the Scorpions . We were surprised DP played first. They fed off the DP crowd and we fed off of them. After they finished that place emptied out like a bomb went off. The Scorpions played to a hand full of people. What were the promoters thinking?

You gotta check out "She's Mine" recorded by the Liverpool Five in 1965 to hear the same bass riff used here. It's on Yu Tube and of course it was even BEFORE the Blues Magoos " You Aint Seen Nothing Yet".However this DP version is still fabulous .

@crimsoncarcas The Musicians Union in the UK insisted that artist couldn't go on and mime to their record, so they had the options of; to play live in the TV studio, mime while a studio band played the song for them or record a new version under the control of the musicians union and mime along with it on the show. Purple did the later hence it sounding different to the record.
