Thank you for posting those videos. I would like you to stay closer to the camera next time, because I'm learnign english as a second language but I can't hear what you say, but thank you very much for your tips!
I have found this one of the clearest and most interesting explanations about how we acquire languages, not to mention how to do so without relying exclusively on a teacher. Did you come to these ideas about passive learning solely from personal experience, or does it something to do with Krashen's theories (or anyone else's for that matter). Could you go into more depth about the difference between the levels? Most polyglots do not address techniques for intermediate and even advanced.
@LinguaHacks Thanks. I've heard of S.Krashen,S.Pinker Chomsky etc..but all this comes from my personal experience. I've been learning languages for 20 years but I seriously started thinking about language acquisition and drawing some conclusions in the last 2. There is also an official presentation of my method (and you can post a reply or ask some questions there :-)). Just write "Luca Lampariello easy way" on google and you'll find it :-) Take care! Luca
@lauraleesmithagain It really depends on the course. I guess that if you follow their instructions (that is, studying a lesson per day) you can complete the whole course in 6 months, but it generally takes me one year to complete the course, since the main goal is to "assimilate" the whole book, and not just "read" or "study" it (there is a BIG difference between these 2 actions). Luca
What do you think about the software Rosetta Stone? Is ist a good way to learn a language? I stopped to use the software, because I am living in the country where I learn the language and this software wasn't useful. Let me hear what you are thinking about it....
@lilauz Dear friend, to tell you the truth, I have never used that program, but from what I've heard so far it seems very expensive and little effective. Regardless of Rosetta Stone, there are tons of good websites where you can pick up languages very well..and for free. Luca
This is an unquestionable & excellent language learning video demonstration that every serious language learner should pay attention to---they do not teach this in College.
Thanks for the nice words. Just trying hard to explain what I think are solid principles one should stick to in order to learn a language well :-) Luca
I found some good teaching material on the internet. Google "Ferd'nand".
These are wordless cartoons. I have the students describe the situation trying to use all the important structures. Then I have the students role play the situation.
I've had a lot of success with this. It's the fastest way I've seen to give them a good command of important structures.
This is good material for language exchanges too. It's good for any language.
Then in this video the initial sentence is "Hey, it's been a long time, this is actually...uh...it's been more than a year that I haven't made any video." But I think it would sound better if it was rephrased like this: "Hey, it's been a long time, this is actually...uh...it's been over a year since I've made a video." Could you please forward me all the scripts featured in your videos?
Thanks so much for the useful feedback :) I am in Spain at the moment and don't have the scripts with me,but I'll be back in Rome soon and if you send me a private message I will forward you all my scripts. Take care and thanks again. Luca
I never understand why people mark comments as 'bad' simply when viewers are trying to be helpful - as Luca obviously understands from his response. Anyway, I just thumbed this up to reduce the bad comment count on it.
Yeah, I definitely like "constructive criticism", and I find Ioddc's words rather helpful and not offensive at all, although somebody else might have perceived as a "I-want-to-be-smart" comment. Thanks for pointing that out Storebror :-) L
I know you've heard this a million times, but I just want to congratulate you on how good your accent is and how easily you can construct correct sentences. But I noticed that nobody has commented on your flaws (which are scarce by the way). The first mistake that I noticed was in your American English video, when you said "Chicago". You pronounce the "a" as in "can" when you should actually pronounce it as in "hard".
Ciao! Luca
Loki, I'm sorry to say it, but this really is not a very intelligent comment you just wrote..think a bit more before posting things like that. Especially on brilliant videos. Just my 2 cents ;-) P
hey Luca! It's been a long time indeed. However the most important thing is that you've put the quality in your video... as usual! Lots of great points! Thank you for sharing you thoughts! Amir.

Come mai hai bisogno di leggere per spiegare? Sarebbe molto più interessante senza leggere...
Come mai non hai fatto in video in chinese, perché ti piace tanto questa lingua, vero?
