@myst32YT The commercial ones are completely sealed, so yeah that's a good idea. I thought of that too, and I bet it's part of why mine didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped. It's interesting really because to act as a weather predictor you'd think they would need access to atmospheric pressure. There's still debate on why these things work.
they wont sell anymore because apperently meth manufacturers
were getting hold of this stuff. too bad they have to ruin it for us. especially since i broke 3 beakers and 2 flasks in the past year. now i have nothing but test tubes, pipetts, stoppers, and other small apparatus. great video my friend!
@TheBombBros Yeah that's a real shame. Because of them, I have to be constantly worried that someone walking by my house is going to freak out and call the police on me. Mine is from the basic laboratory tool set from United Nuclear. They are a great source for chemicals and equipment, sometimes a little pricy but very reliable and high quality. You can replace your lost glassware there too :)
@mrhomescientist Thats too bad. I wish it was that easy! I just achieved a few new glass containers that are similar to beakers but they are not pyrex and are not graduated. Ill see whats on ebay.
Where would I go about acquiring camphor. I believe I may have seen it as a solvent but it's a liquid so I am not certain about what it is. Please respond, your reply is appreciated!
@2Lazy2ThinkOfSomthin I found mine on Amazon after a good bit of searching. Try looking for "natural camphor granules" - mine was made by Frontier Natural Products. I'm not sure what the liquid might be - maybe camphor in solution like what I made here?
where do u get all ur material (e.g. acids, elements, tools, beaked, and so on)

Can the glass tube be heat sealed (melted shut)? Or does the solution need to have some access to outside pressure?

@mrhomescientist wow! yeah thats decent. do they replace them for free?
i wish i had more since im into chemistry and science more now. but i dont have any spare money at the moment.

@TheBombBros Nah, I just meant you can buy more since you broke yours. Unfortunately, they aren't that generous!

@mrhomescientist Thank you for your reply, I'll see if I can get ahold of this interestingly mysterious compound.

Also, nice hot plate ;), I have the same one
