I liked these Alfa Romeo 75s since they had the rear brakes inboard and the transmission was rear mounted. They did almost everything they can to evenly distribute the weight.
GO ALFA ROMEO! CAN'T WAIT TILL YOU COME BACK AT THE END OF 2010!
Laguna seca is a really nice racetrack ! I would love to have a go for a view laps. We here in Germany have the Nürburgring, but thats a complete different challange.
Please watch also my videos and visit our website.
Beautiful driving! I think that noise you were hearing was your tires screeching either on the pavement or into your wheel well... not sure though. I wish I could drive a nice car on this track... only played Gran Turismo games, haha.
Anyway, enjoyed the video, you drive like a Le Mans driver! Good job!
Being America it's got to be a 3 litre. Lesser engined Alfa 75's were never sold there. Notice the tall gearing on the 75 Changing the diff for a 4.1:1 (as per GTV6) is the best mod one can do for more performance in these cars
that was highly entertaining, especially with the little subtext comments! i thought an nsx was supposed to be a supercar. guess it had a wimpy driver. and there's no excuse for the wrx, it's awd, easier to not spin out. that alfa has a great chassis apparently.
look that crapy honda it has more power than alfa about 120hp more and he had been overtaken almost.if the alfa had 20hp more he would smoke that crapy honda.this shows
that actually the europeans car are the best fuck the rest!
Well done, m'lord! Great vid. Sure brings back memories. The track seems strange with the new infield turns. When I drove there, the final turn was turn 9! The corkscrew was 5 & 6. Turn nine, the "hairpin" was a bunch narrower, and tighter. I think I would give my right arm to drive that course again. Yhanks for the post.
Laguna is 2.8 "officially"...but it's considered by MANY one of the GREAT U.S. circuits because of it's elevation changes. Mazda bought in about 5 years ago- the time to go is during "The Monterey Historics Weekend". Concours at Pebble Beach, the historic races at Laguna, auctions all over the penninsula. Book in advance. Space is at a PREMIUM. It's actually too much in too little time for what they do.
But it is impossible to beat NSX, that has lots more HP. I think you really drove well, because in the corners in your last lap you were in the ass of the NSX :)
I envy you so much. Once the coilovers and brakes go on my Z32, I will be attempting to beat 1:56 on my first trip to Laguna Seca. I'm coming for you, Alfaboy!
se non ricordo male l'unica versione arrivata in america è proprio quella che da noi era chiamata "turbo america", mentre negli usa era semplicemente "alfa milano"
Dude, you made me throw away me prejudices about Americans and cars! I never knew that there were any of you who even KNOW about Alfa... Being little bit ignorant here:) Those guys should have been much faster than you, but NO! Great drive, great video
There are good drivers everywhere. I just drove Laguna Seca for the first time yesterday. There are some very good drivers there. You just don't see nor hear about them everyday. Besides, driving on the track is quite different from driving on public streets even though you can use some of the same track skills on public roads.
absolutely fkn brilliant. speechless mate. i own an alfa , and i love it, but the thought of comparing it to modern cars made me laugh. seems that you just proved me wrong. fucking awesome.
Cosmic: Dropped spindles and Porsche brakes were coming into contact ever so slightly to create the noise when under high load corners when running Hoosiers. It never showed up in street use. Parts have since been machined to avoid that.
Sorry Grant, no video of the latest run as both of us were driving and no time to set it up.
This car is one of the first 164 engine conversions using Motronic and an S motor. Other upgrades is a lightened gearbox, Porsche brakes, and Beninca suspension. It has a full interior and is a comfortable street car as well. It's closing in on 100,000 miles as a dual street/time trial car (the previous 100K were all street), and just ran with Laguna again with two drivers, passing many supposedly faster cars. Such a fun car to drive!
You are kicking Ass a M3boy!I love it !And i see that your old Alfa v6(sounds so gooood!!!)is able to catch NSX and Sub WRX!Félicitations, EXCELLENT!!!I often see Subaru owners or modern BMWowners who laught at old Alfas.Fuck it all!!!
Nizam! I would love to hear what happened to my 1988 Alfa Milano Platium with many, many upgrades. You bought it from me on eBay and told me that I'd always regret selling it. Well, I do! It was the best car I've ever owned! Please tell me where it is, I'd love to buy it back! That car has haunted me for almost five years!
Una supercar. Un pezzo di merdo. E una vera Alfa. Queste sono le Alfa.
