Is this the same version as the record? They don't do the last verse here, but I'm pretty sure they did on the version that was comped on What A Way To Die.
...it's a really great cover, but my initial feeling is that this is not from 1966. I would love, and welcome, to be proved wrong. The haircuts are wrong for 1966 also.
@sunrawb It is '66, most of the Scandinavian bands of '65/'66 wore extremely long hair ala The Pretty Things (tho' the Renegades were UK ex-pats based in Finland). By '67 they all started going for shorter mod style haircuts. Lots of Dutch bands were also notorious for freakishly long hair very early on. These Continental bands also tended to specialize in cruder, savage sounding records like this!
This is THE MOST KILLER version I've ever heard of this song! I have to get my hands on it. Peculiar video though...like, totally unrelated to the lyrics, and what's with the singer's facial expressions??
Good CRANK IT UP raw rock n' roll and probably the 1st head banging on video. So many great songs and real bands then. I had this 45 and I think it was from Finland.
I couldnt find anything anywhere....there were/are so many bands with the name renegades. I all i want is to buy their album but its fucking impossible.
I have this song on a 2 disc compilation of 60's punk garage bands. The comp. is called "Hang it out to Dry". I bought it in Hoboken, NJ about 15years ago. Excellent stuff.
oh hell yeah i know that, the beatles, the stones, the kinks, the who, the yardbirds, the velvet undeground, the stooges, led zeppelin, this band. do u know any info on this band?
These guys was a Brtitish band who moved to Finland and made a career as popstars in the mid 60's. They got a big hit with Cadillac and later also 13 Women.
I'm starting to believe this might have been the first music video (non-Scopitone) in which the music actually fit into the lyrics of the tune. (Renegades might have been more ahead of their time than even they thought they might be).
Freakbeat ist eine Bezeichnung, die von Musiksammlern stammt und meint nicht radiokompatible englische Beataufnahmen der Endsechtziger. Kenne ich noch aus Radio 100 Zeiten.

You mean for then? I'm not even sure it's a real 60's band. It looks like someone made it up on youtube. It looks too new for me and not that much info of this band on the internet.
Well, ok. It's a 1954 Bill Haley hit called Thirteen women (and only one man in town). But why we don't have any newer pictures of the members of the band (like in the 80's or 90's or if they're still alive, in 2000's)?
i've been searching different songs, older stuff.with the right choices a person could redo so many of these that they would be hits today, with the right group, singer.alot of bands have done it,people think they wrote it.and on here people think they know everything so it would keep that vicious cicle going.i like going back to the originals and just seeing how much they changed the song and sure enough alot of them stay pretty true to the original.very cool.all music is good, some better/worse.
There's a Renegades compilation called "Complete Cadillac" out on Warner Music Finland. A lot of the band's output is surprisingly polished and tame compared to this. I found the comp on iTunes.
The Renegades, Blue Cheer and Swamp Rats are all real killer bands against which most contemporary groups have absolutely no footing at all. I just don't get it. The reason why I collect early punk is because to me it has an incredible charisma and youthful vigor.. emulations of the genre just seem to be weak.

13 Women was released in 1954 by Bill Haley and the Comets, but it was Rock Around the Clock, the flip side that made history.
