  • I love this video, looks real good, and the roll-y thing is called a makisu ^_^

  • Nice video :)

  • It is very good even if it sees from the Japanese. :-)

Where was how to make the rolled sushi remembered?

  • hey man , cool video!, hey , I was wondering , what is the name and specific brand of the tool you use to cut thin strips of carrot and cucumber? , I do sushi at home , but have a hard time cutting small strips ! , thanks!

  • I tried to comment a couple of times-- they don't seem to be appearing (maybe because I'm trying to put in a link-- if three show up at once, that's why). The company is a Swiss company called Zena-- if you Google "Zena peeler" it is the first thing to come up.

  • The "black paper" is nori (seaweed dried in sheets) and you can get it at the grocery store, co-op or asian food market. The sauce is soy sauce, with some wasabi mixed in (you can get wasabi where you get nori). I don't know what type of fish you mean-- the only thing I can think of that still has its tail when it is served would be a piece of ebi (shrimp) nigiri -- maybe google that or search on youtube.

  • Nice vid.

Until I got to the 'plum vinegar' part.

    Horror and shock at that.

Shouldnt it be RICE WINE VINEGAR?

I am gonna have to get over it and try the 'plum vinegar' idea maybe before I judge it as wrong.

    :-)

  • Thanks for the comment!

The first time I tried making it, all we had around the house was ume plum vinegar. It was delicious (and friends love it) so I've used it ever since. If a discerning chef is too legit to quit, s/he can substitute rice vinegar in the traditional way.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Excellent video, I can save my precious monies now lol.

Great insight on what would seem like a difficult piece to make. 5/5

  • Thanks for the comment! If nothing else, I hope this video shows how easy (and cheap!) it is to make! Its main ingredient is dirt cheap-- RICE!

    Tabemasho!
