  • What was cydias version called? I really need it.

  • my iphone 3g goes into ipod when i double click. please help me

  • GET,`A:;IPHONE:_FREE;`

  • GET.◜`A..‵IPHONE◜',FREE,.‵

  • Worst DEMO ever. Man, when you are going to record some demo - try to make things work first - because now it looks like - ok, now I'll show you multitasking - oh wait - no - I can't show you multitasking right now - so what are you showing then?

  • LOL thats totally fixed now...

  • wow why not use an app that supports multitasking in the demo (-_-)...i gotta Droid anyways tho so im good

  • WTF!!! thats not multitasking go check out NOKIA N900....it will show u wats the exact meaning of multitasking.

  • @shivamruth249 true i love my n900 :D

  • .... Android FTW.

  • @Supuhstar Yes because Android Multitasking is sooooo muuuuch better!!

Symbian is still N1 mobile phone OS.

  • you don't see the open apps, there's just the apps you used before

  • ok i'm confused. is phone running on 4g technology or 3g?

  • @vbabe11111 3g. It's the fourth generation iPhone, so it's called iPhone 4

  • BEATLES! YES.

  • iPhone sucks :)

  • How do you close out apps? I have a buch running at the same time can can't figure out how to close them. One of them, Farmville, seems to be stuck in an infinite loop can I can't x it out!!

  • @MillStream30 Finally figured out that if you hold your finger over the app's icon you can close it!

  • does apple copy EVERYTHING from jailbroken apps?

  • @xHAZARD78x PRETTY MUCH, BRO

  • i want to buy before buying i want to know....can i play music during the voice call

  • @furqansaeed18 yes.

  • That's retarded. Especially because of the fact that multi-tasking wastes battery life... And the Iphone already has shit battery life. Plus that's not *REAL* multitasking. Real multitasking is when you have an program that you open that doesn't need it to be programmed in for multitasking to work. It just works.

  • Chuck Norris multitasks in his sleep.

  • lol u made this vid on my b-day

  • im kinda pissed they took off the double tap home opening your current playing song. i think multitasking should be swipe the bottom bar of apps, the one thats always there (forgot what it's called) or the status bar.

  • @PunchingBabyz You just have to double tap and drag the "open apps" dock to the right. Then it will show you the currently playing song, as well as a portrait orientation lock button. If I remember correctly, Pandora can also use the Play/Pause/Next/Previous if it is currently playing something.

  • Game Center on 4.0 ???

  • Wait till HP makes a tablet with WebOS

  • @earthcrisis05

It's a toss-up on what the OS is going to be.

I've seen a working prototype with Windows 7 on there, and it works pretty flawlessly. Boots incredibly quickly. Others say Android.

  • palm pre's is so much better

    webos..ftw

  • LMAO... wouldn't you use 2 apps in your demo that support multi-tasking? Fail.

  • lol my cheap criket android phone can multitask waay better (sanyo zio aka kyocera m6000)

  • @mousepad99 Sarcasm. Hence, "that's Apple for you". My Blackberry runs Pandora alongside other apps just fine because RIM isn't a tyrant company.

  • So basically iOS multitasking is the same as it used to be, except it saves you a trip to the home screen. That's Apple for you I guess.

  • "right now it's not going to work so i can't really demo it"

mhmmm, what was the title again?

  • you have Game Center and have 4.0? wtf xD

  • i have an ipod touch (i think it's third gen) with the latest software 4.1 or something? i can't multi task (that little menu doesn't even pop up) and i can't change the homescreen background. does anyone know what's up?

  • @tristancow you must have a 2nd gen

  • @1494017271 ahhhh that explains it. i double checked the model number at the back of the ipod and yes it's 2nd gen. thanks for the clarification

  • @tristancow If itz an 8gb itz just the 2nd gen repacked. $.0 multitask and backrounds dont work on ipod touch 2nd gen. Only on 32gb and higher

  • Think when you use your windows to do stuff... All the windwos there is no "x" or "alt-F4" to close...The browsers, the excel, the words, the outlook, and all the sub windwos generated by these program cannot be closed.

When you do suck of the 10 browsers windows, 10 excel documents, 2 games running... you press "ctrl - alt - del" select task manager, and kill each process one by one.

Such concept of ios, fire that idiot that came up with this outdated shit already, user friendly my ass.

  • Good Job

  • The same thing is happening to me I have to reboot and go to safe mode but all you have to do Is delete the package and my dtunes dosnt want to work idk if it's cause of the new firmware or my iPod.

  • Androids do better multitasking!!!!!!

  • does that work on t mobile sim card

  • now there's the possibility to jailbreak firmware 4.0, but if i download that multitasking app, my ipod has to reboot and go to the safe mode, as well as with loads of other stuff... like infiniboard or -dock...

are more people experiencing this? =S

  • Multitasking has been apart of other phones for a while now, why is iPhone so far behind?

  • Anyone know where I can find the game center is an app or what?

  • When you see the comments on this video you realize why people still buy Apple crap and not Android powered phones instead.

  • you could also call this "most recent used apps" i have this on my 2004 tungsten t5 :D

  • lol this future existed from the beginning. The app is said Ipod ,

LOL man you really dont know what you're talking are you?

Multitasking is for Iphone 3gs and 4g

    this device dont support multitasking.

  • every time i double tap it takes me to my music what do i do?

  • @fyasco1 depends what gen and how many gb

  • Comment removed

  • @Chocomilk241 3 gen 8 gb

  • @fyasco1 well that ipod does not contain multitasking it only works on the 16gb and 32gb i have a the same ipod too. u can put multitasking by jailbreaking ur ipod

  • my Iphone is starting to piss me off....I have a 3gs....and the funny part is I used the 4 once and there is really no big difference besides the front camera and the screen resolution.

  • my ipod wont let me multitask. when i douvble tap the home button it just goes to the ipod app

  • @expedition94 ur ipod is too old..u need a new one

  • @expedition94 swipe to the right. moron.

  • @expedition94 ipod 2g and below and iphone 3g and below cannot multitask

  • @expedition94 your fucking retarded ur ipod isnt compatible to multitask cause u have a fuckin ipod touch

  • @ChippyChipMunk69 try not to use the fuck, smart ass

  • @expedition94 this works for iphone only ,,

  • @expedition94 You sure then your not on a 3.9 firmware then? Thats what the old 3. firmware did

  • @expedition94 you have to have the 4g ipod otherwise this wont work

  • @christianap99 or the 32gb or 64gb 3g ipod

  • @expedition94 Actually it depends on wich iPod Touch you have or wich software. Curently the iOs 4 isnt availeble for iPhone 1 (2g) and iPod Touch 1g. If you have a 2G iPod Touch it wont work either, because it wouldnt be strong enough for it according to apple.

  • @expedition94 you need to update it

  • @expedition94 It works for my ipod 4, what generation do you have? it doesnt work for the first generation as far as i know-

  • IT SAYS MY NAME AT 1:01 !!!!

  • How do you get to test this software?

  • I updated my phone to 4.0 and i know i will regret that brb after examine it

  • Thats garbage. With my evo, I can play music, check fb, read news, and surf the web all at the same time.

  • is multitasking supported on the 3g model? i have the os4 with the little glass display under my 4 main apps, but wen i double click on home it just takes me to my shortcut

  • @TeamAlliance if it is 8 gb then it does not support multitasking

  • @Chocomilk241 that's just fucking lame

  • @foggybrowntown i know but u can jailbreak it and put multitasking on it

  • What about my other apps that I wanna play? It's not multitasking btw.

  • it's a bit strange 'cause when i close a app => it goes in my multitask board... so then i'm connected to the internet without knowing it...

  • Rip off. It's not true multitasking. My iPhones not as quick as it used to be either. Anybody know how to fix this? I need to like reinstall it or something.

  • Hello. I have a Iphone 3g. I got the update for 4.0 and on settings>general it says I have it. Yet I dont have the bubble wallpaper and i cant multi task. u no y?

  • @HabboUserVids i think that the multitasking and home screen backrounds are only for 3GS and ipod touch with higher gb's

  • @HabboUserVids 3g at 4.0 don't allow multitasking and some other features too sorry

  • what a joke, Software you dont need yet lol..... you have to wait for developer to catch up? haaaaaaaaaa...

  • That's such a rip off it's not multi tasking

  • ha. that not real multitasking. FAIL

  • @edgarduck Actually, this IS multitasking. The iPhone/iPod Touch is still running the application, but it's just in a suspended state. Also, if you were listening, he said when the firmware goes public it will work. Guess what? YOU just FAILED.

  • @darkmoon12198 If you'd use an android phone, you'd know what multitasking is.

  • @edgarduck You do realize you're carrying on an argument from 2 months ago? Well, you're carrying it on, so...

It actually IS multitasking. Multitasking is the ability to have more than one process or operation going on at the same time. This is multitasking. It has another application going on in the background while you're doing something else.

  • @edgarduck true that.

  • @edgarduck hows it not real?

  • @Djghost1123 you can never choose from the homescreen where all your apps are while "multitasking" on iOS4. you can onli visit already visited apps

  • @Djghost1123 it just opens the app again

  • @therockster2000 yes but it opens from when you left off

  • @edgarduck

dumbass, it is multitasking, just some apps dont have it made for them yet.

  • the best multitasking app for a jailbreak (for the user interface of the multitasking and activation methods (my opinion)) is proswitcher. and unlike multiflow, its 100% FREE!!!

  • i updated my iPhone to OS 4.0 but i dont hav the background like urs does :S do u hav any idea y tht is?

  • @Codcrazy1000 thats only for 3gs and 4g

  • @Codcrazy1000 because you have the 3G right? you have to have 3Gs or i4

  • Yay Penny Lane by the Beatles :D

    Nice video, man

  • i regret upgrading my Ipod touch 3g to the OSI4 the volume is lower and there's still no jail break, i've been trying to downgrade with no luck, any help?

  • @prayfawind jailbreak now avaliable you know

  • @whaaddupitszaac where? what's the site?

  • @prayfawind just search "jailbreak os 4" and theres 1000 videos on how to do it. i m not doing it to my iPhone 4 because theres not point. but i tried to jb my 3G and it fuhhed it up. i have to restore it again, now.

  • What if I want to stream a radio station from a radio App and wanted to check my emial without disturbing the stream? It doesn 't seem like I could run more than one App at a time. As I'm streaming, say "iheartradio', the App will close when I check email. I'm not sure how this multi-tasking is suppose to function. Is version 4.0 able to run more than a single App at the same time?

  • Hi Michael - I have an iPhone 3GS and just loaded the 4.0 OS on my iPhone. After using the multi-tasking feature for a while, I noticed that before the end of the day my battery life went south in a hurry (much faster than before). I have now learned how to "close" the multi-tasking for an application, and this seems to slow down the battery life drain-rate. Is there a way to disable the multi-tasking feature for users who travel and need to ration their battery life?

  • @xHeRoiiNxPSN multitasking will only work on iphone 3gs, 4 and ipod touch 3g because of the cpu.

  • Welcome to the future 2 years ago!

  • iPhone 4 beta signup is now avaiable through

    iphone4gbeta.blogspot com

You're redirected, you sign up, and when you're contacted you'll recieve the iPhone 4 for testing, then you can keep it :D I got mine two days ago shipped :D

  • Unfortunately, here it is after the release and still doesn't work because theApp. Developers didn't update.

  • @xHeRoiiNxPSN its for the ipod touch just go onto ur itunes libary and update ur ipod :)

  • Do you want to jailbreak your OS4 ona all Iphones

Look at my video ar my chanel :D

  • Thanks for this, I wondered what I was doing wrong. but tried it out with 'Cyclemeter' which has been updated for multi-tasking and it worked perfectly. Now just need my radio apps to do the same (hint hint 'Absolute' and 'Tunin.fm' )

  • So every single app will have to be redesigned for multitask? FAIL.

  • I try to do it with tap tap revenge and it does not work?

  • alright just updated 4.0 on itouch 2nd gen not unlocked.. how do i do multi tasking nd all the new stuff?

  • @AnthonyGojcajOnline same, im confused

  • @AnthonyGojcajOnline there is no multitasking for 2g ipod touch u must hack it so u can get it and backgrounds!

  • @himskater9 ehh im not gonna hack it.. i did b4 couldnt put music onn it

  • @himskater9 nd how do u u do the gme center thing

  • @AnthonyGojcajOnline idk about game center

  • Thank you, man. Just got 4.0 on my touch 3G and I thought multitasking didn't work, because doodle jump started at the menu, even when i was playing before. so thanks for that "developer-has-to-adapt" info :-)

If that wouldn't be true multitasking would be the same as closing an app and opening another. Really thanks!

  • thanks mate i was unsure how to do it until this vid i did not realise you have to double tap

  • how do you exit apps (remove them from the bottom bar) ??

  • @smodeLL when in the bar hold your finger on an app until it begins shaking and has a line on it. click the line and it will exit

  • can you only multitask on 3gs iphones or can u use the 3g and still do multitask

  • mine doesnt work for some reason

  • do they have it for the ipod touch?

  • Can you change the background of the page that has the apps on it (water droplet background)?

  • ok, three things!

    1) how did Steve Jobs presented the MT with Pandora playing in the background and here it doesn't work... I seriously doubt that Steve's iPhone's jailbroken.

    2) if you have MT and there are no apps to use it with... what's the point!!!

    3) if jailbroken phones got this figured out, why can't Apple just do what the jailbreakers do???????

seriously, MT was the thing everyone waited for, and it's not useful AT ALL!

  • @armaniac661 It works now. I just tried it! I think Pandora had a update.

  • I have a Spirit jailbreak on my iPhone 3gs, Do I have to take it away to update the phone?

  • @Rickehej95 yeah, you have to restore it to factory settings (just to be safe) and then update. i think there is an app that backs up all of your jailbroken apps so that once you've updated to 4.0 it puts them all back on. Not sure of the name though.

  • Engadget got the first unboxing. :p

    youtube.com/ watch?v=y4KKAM5QFRo

  • This was supposed to be a "how to multitask" so I was extremely disappointed that the author failed to tell how to call up the multitasking dock. That omission made the video, to me, useless.

  • @gmeltzer just double click the home button. I worked it out in about 20 secs....not that hard.

  • that is jailbrek not uptdate

  • I jailbroke my iPod touch 2g and made redsn0w enable multitasking, but the multitasking window only shows up on the home screen! Help?

  • They couldn't do it the jailbroken way because, it would completely drain the battery very quickly. This way it can last longer but it makes it less efficient.

  • someone please help me. i just downloaded the 4.0 software on my ipod touch and i cant do the multitaksing thing :( all it does when i double tap the home button is take me back to the home screen. please help

  • @TrippyTripTrip I think they're favoring the phones. My iPod touch won't multi-task either

  • @TrippyTripTrip I just found this out on the Apple site: "Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking, custom wallpaper, and Bluetooth keyboard support are available only with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009)"

  • @TheDarkyos why pfff

  • you guys need to update your ipod touches before you can do this.

  • can you go to spring board with multitasking??

  • Can you use multitasking on an iPod Touch? If you can, how? Mine's old enough and it doesn't work!!

  • @gsrhatch14 thank you very much

  • Comment removed

  • i just got the update and the miltitask is bullshit its not working it exits you out of the app your running all it does is switch to the other app i understang it might be the developers or whatever but its bullshit they shoulda known this update was coming wtf we already paid for the apps and since updates are usually free they dont sweat it?? WTF?? step it up developers or get the fk out

  • the ipod touch gets like nothing in the update

  • @goloet i got all the features but only for ipod touch 3rd gen

  • @DO0EE I also have an iPod touch 3G but I didn't get everything I don't know why?

  • @goloet i agree, just downloaded on my ipod. can't set the background, use multitask or any of the other shit. any suggestion?

  • @Russiansnow you might have the older model, older models cant multi task and do some of the features, unless you jail break it

  • Thanks for the heads up i was wondering why the music wouldn't play in the background yet...

  • @dpmaxey Pandora has a update now for MT

  • @vipleather right on, just saw the update today, was around mid-day along with facebook, and msn live messenger, many new updates are bound to be around the corner as well.. thanks for the update though!

  • I just got done downloading it

  • Will this work on MC 2G

  • Michael, I appreciate these videos. Just updated to 4.0 today and was a little unsure of how to use some of these features. Great videos, hope to see more!

  • Is this for 3G ONLY?

  • can any smart people please explain what the retna thing in the i phone 4 is please would help me make my mind up about purchasing this fooking awesome phone

    thanks

  • the retina display is basically that apple added 4 times more pixels to the screen, so the resolution of the screen ts 4 times better than a normal iphone. An iphone 4g has the 78% of the pixels that an ipad contain, even it is a lot times smaller.

  • How do you "kill" a multitasking app

  • @thisvideoiscool72 you double push the home button and hold an app at the bottom like deleting it.

  • Looks like garbage. After using my new Evo for a few weeks, I could never go back to Iphone. True multi-tasking works on Android, for example: When switching between txt msg's and the web browser the web page doesn't need to reload, because it never closed, it's still up! Unlike in this example it had to reload the webpage because it had closed.

I used to be the biggest Iphone supporter, but the Evo has converted me. I don't even touch my Iphone anymore, it sits in it's lonely dock 24/7 now.

  • 4.0 firmware is super impressive (y)

  • @amlichada I think someone might have supplied it for him or he is a developer.

  • wannabemultitaskshit

  • BEATLES FTW!

  • Hi, just quickly, do you have to backup your iphone/ipod touch before installing os 4.0? (so i dont lose data)?

  • os 4 not released yet so how come you got it?

  • pseudo-multitasking

  • how do you close an application? If your done and don't want to waste the battery, how do you close applications?

  • i think that is good that the dev needs to put it in bcause on a jb that app is still running and the music but if it is a app that you dont want to hear the music like nova the backround sound is still on so if they dont put it but it still can go back to the way it was thats better

  • i have multitasking on my 3g right now. it actually works better than backgrounder. you need to jb to do this, but thats easy. if i get the iphone 4, i prolly wont need to jb again.
