@MISFITROBBY138 - I know right ? Initially when uploading this I was trying to add a watermark for another project for a friend and didn't realize this video would get such traffic but this is pressure drop by the clash/the mescaleros but people seem to get all anal. I'm glad I posted the video though because I didn't realize that there was a lack in later footage of Joe.
Damn Joe, you've done everything. Glam Rock with The Vultures, Pub Rock with The 101ers, Punk with The Clash, Rock With THe Clash, Ska with The Clash, Reggae with The Clash, Pop with The Clash, Experimental with The Clash, Jazz with The Clash, Dub with The Clash, R&B with The Clash, and Solo work with JS and the Mescaleros. Wow
I would usually say fuck you if you don't like it but I did decide to change it (not for you) but for accuracy. Anyways its crazy but I think this was about the first video I uploaded and you can see that stupid water mark and I was trying to test for how the video display would work. I am surprised I've got this many hits off the video, hope you enjoy.
I never saw the Clash live..just too poor as a kid. I was old enough but it didnt' happen. I never forgot their debut on the Late Show with David Letterman. They did London Calling. I said to myself, what a dynamic sound, it's raw, a bit edgy but, it's what made it sooo great. Joe had not gotten his teeth fixed yet and spit was flying across the mike when he let out those screeches in London Calling. A lasting impression for me. RIP Joe!
I photographed all three days of this tour (Hootenanny) and it will forever be three of the best days of my life. Got to meet Joe after the third show and he was amazing.
This is so great! The worlds best punkrock singer singing one of the best ska groups songs. You can skank to it, you can pogo to it. Still it´s a beutiful song, with a lot of power. Preassure drop is really a good song!
What is the difference? And please, don't tell me the difference is organs or horns, instruments don't make a style of music. And it's also not the speed because I've heard lots of "fast" reggae and lots of "slow" ska.
its not even a clash song to bitch over. its toots and the maytals.

I like the version by the Specials ( rap) but if you are looking for the Kingston flavored copy of Toots' hit look for the cut by Steven Sparks.

This all proves how great Toot's and the Maytals song is when the greatest band ever covers them. You cannot ask for a better compliment.

Joe seems kind of tired in this - does anybody else think so?

thank GOD someone can finally tell the difference.

What is the difference? And please, don't tell me the difference is organs or horns, instruments don't make a style of music. And it's also not the speed because I've heard lots of "fast" reggae and lots of "slow" ska.
Ashloomis 4 years ago
I think rocksteady is defined by its era isnt it? Quite a short era in the sixties before it became called 'reggae'
hairysuit 4 years ago
you implying i couldnt tell the difference?
haha ska is my type of music. i simply said long live reggae as although toots are considered a dancehall/ska band they are old-skool reggae to me
