Beautiful horse, lovely gait, but really unfortunate bit and restraints on it. Seriously, you don't need long shanks on the bit with ropes to the saddle in order to get a correct headset, those devices are just for lazy people who don't feel like creating a partnership with their horse...
I realy don't see what the fuss is about. This is a great horse with a nice dance. I had a pure bred Paso Fino stallion in St. Croix Us Virgin Islands. He would do this on the end of his rope when he saw me coming with a saddle. He could do this all day long, kind of annoying when all you want to do stand still and talk to someone on the side of the road, haha

that is one of the worst things ive seen..get a trainer for urself..watch a video..read a book..there is so much information out there on comunication with ur horse. learn to work WITH ur horse because u look real silly and ur horse would perform better for u if u get more informed. Gaited horses r supposed to b a joy to watch,;this video was very disapointing and just makes u feel bad for the horse!!!
@shelly5711 i dont know where your from but im from colombia and here the horse is breed to have the softest movement so that the rider doesnt move too much and make it more comfortable for the rider. what he is doing is making the horse dance and in colombian culture is it smiled upon and does not look silly at all. The gaits are different then what you would expect and most likely the person riding it has lots of experience with horses.
@Cytr0gen this video is a very poor example of a gaited horse whatever part of the country ur from...and i agree, there is nothing wrong with gaited horses and they are usually a pleasure to watch and yes they have very soft movement.... i dont see that here!!! where im from, u can get a gaited horse to do the same thing except he dosent have his head tied to the saddle and the rider dosent need to rip the horses mouth off and the horse enjoys what he is doing..i dont see that here!
@shelly5711 lol its dancing! to make a horse dance you have to teach it and when it does you hold the reins and tell it to go and it will move its legs but stay in the same spot. i have a trocha horse and if you dont pull on the reins hard when i ride him he would go in a gallop so every time i ride him i get really sore hands because the horse to be able to resist the fast pace he walks needs to have alot of energy so the horse is very energetic so you have to pull hard on the reins to control
@Cytr0gen ..a horse resists pressure when u pull on his face, (thats normal) if u get sore hands from riding ur horse that means he is not soft. If u have to pull on the reins HARD than thats NOT a good thing. why is it that i can watch all kinds of gaited horses that are dancing and the riders ARE NOT pulling hard on the face? why can I watch gaited horses dancing and the riders DO NOT have the head tied to the saddle? This is really a poor example of gaited horses.
@shelly5711 it resists because of the immense power he has and instead of putting that in movement speed he puts it in how fast he moves his legs but avances slowly making the rider not bounce...at all His head is tied to the saddle because it prevents it from standing up....horses here are very different they are hot blooded and energetic and very alert. the pulling of the reins is the power of my horse and the energy it has and wants to go and run off but you have to hold him back
@shelly5711 oka the horse thinks when i get on him to go but the horse wants to go off at a full gallop i pull on the reins to prevent him and he resists because he wants to go faster the oulling is what makes him step very fast without advancing much distance hence paso fino and you feel like your on a magic carpet and dacing here is just the horse doing his gait without moving forward hence the rein pulling my horse does it and does it alone when he hears music
@shelly5711 another thing is that a good horse is to never be told when to go it just goes on its own. a bad horse you need to use heel or make a noise but these horses you get on them and losen a bit on the reins and the horse will preform
@Cytr0gen If ur horse is resisting pressure that is because he has not been taught to be soft and give to pressure. If u teach ur horse that FIRST, u will have a better, prettier ride. Admitting that u have sore hands after u ride just shows that u do not have control of ur horses feet (which is where resistance really comes from) and that issue should be addressed first.. constant pulling is not the answer!
@shelly5711 if you teach him to be soft then he woundnt move his legs very fast nor would he be energetic he would feel weak like american and european horses and i changed his reins from a colt to adult horse one and i dont get sore hands anymore.
@shelly5711 it's actually a tradition and something they do in SHOWS where the person has to do their best to control the horse and give the affect of "no motion" You obviously are a backyard trail horse rider and have never been to a show in your life. It doesn't HURT the horse and takes a lot of skill, obviously something you do not possess. Oh by the way, absolutely no one will take you seriously when you shorten "Be" to "B", it's one more letter..really? pick up a thesaurus.
@shelly5711 This person is just trying to teach the horse to perform well even with car noises. It looks cruel, but it's not at all. There horses love doing this. I am around paso finos all the time. I don't see anything wrong. Their not whipping him or jerking him around.
It is a gait if u would take the time to do some research u would knw tht! the dont trot they trocha! trot is a 2beat diagonal gait (way of stepping) L-back 2gether with R-front and then R-back with L-front resulting in two beats (2 sound affects, 1for each pair of hooves tht hits the floor
Trocha is a 4beated GAIT its diagonal even though it looks like the pair L-back n R-front move together they dont! MECANICS R-back hits the floor b4 L-front does 4beats thus not a trot!

Este es el último de todos los aufnoch en la calle, el caballo tiene miedo a los coches no pueden ver nada porque está ligado con 2 cuerdas que reúne y así la boca de la muñeca es el sangrado de la tortura de animales
Well, I can now say that the Fino is a totally natural gait. My mare did it - with no prompting - in her enthusiasm to get up a hill while on a trail ride two days ago. This gait is part of the breed, and it's awesome to experience it as a rider. It feels so smooth and yet filled with power.
I can't say it's a gait if it has to be trained. Possibly the gait has something to do with how fast he's doing it, but that looks more like a piaffe in a too fast beat. If the horse does it nurally without training, it's a gait, then training can ''improve'' the gait.
Won't you say that most everything we 'improve' on is something horses do naturally. Is it wrong for someone to improve their horse's canter because naturally most horses prefer to trot at that speed? Horses don't go around jumping over everything in the wild. To be quite honest, if we horse people can be, we should not own horses at all. How would you like to be ridden and stabled and trained?
It's one ting to improve a gait, another to create one. Ive learnt that this is a special gait for these horses, but I don't think it's well performed.
@JanaDuP well we are intelligent means we get bored easlly beacuse our minds get bored so yes to us it woulb be hell to be stabled and ridden but to them if they didnt like to be ridden we wound have been able to domesticate them nor would my horse whinney and look for affection every time i go near his stable and pet him. the nly way ppl have improved this horse was by breeding so that this gait would come out and it came out beacuse the land has alot of mountains so it ajusted its pace
@nanakla the only way they improve it is that so the horse arc's his legs while he does it and he bends his head down. also we improve by teaching the horse to step harder i have a hosre like this and when he is in a pasture he walks around arcing his legs and bending his head down and steps very hard that he leaves marks in the grass
