@frizstyler it should be (i don't know if your specific katana is as i don't know how much it cost you. real good carbon steel katanas are more expensive) I would suggest you buy a whetstone as those are purpose built to sharpen katana and other swords look up "Masahiro Blade Sharpen Double-Side Fine Whetstone" on amazon its the cheapest one at 17 bucks and will not damage the blade like a kitchen knife sharpener would
